Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin, and welcome to 24 Coondoo Street in the very heart, and I mean, the very heart of Kuranda Village. This is lifestyle, this is location, this is low maintenance, unashamedly, but the location, my goodness, it is highly sought after. Anywhere within walking distance of Kuranda Village is just rarely available. It never becomes available.
Now, Unit 9, this is your new home. It commands the whole of the top level of the iconic Red House building, which has actually been a Kuranda landmark since about the 1990s. We will see the location and just how fabulous this is just a little bit later on, but in the meantime, let’s go up and have a look. Absolutely fantastic.
Before we head in, I just want to show you, we’ve actually got private car parking, off-street car parking, which is just down here. We’ll see, as we get a little bit further on about the location. I’m going to go on about location and mention it probably 25,000 times. Cafes, plenty of them. We’re a bit early, so this cafe is not actually open, but it is at the very bottom of your door, so you can grab your morning coffee. Thai restaurant, absolutely fabulous. As I said, we’ll see plenty of them as we move forward.
Sprout Cafe, morning coffee, absolutely wonderful. This is the entrance into your fabulous new home. This is apartment living at its very best. It is just private, it’s secure, it’s got gorgeous little lacework in it. Let’s go in.

Angela: Now, I don’t know if you noticed, when we came up the stairs, we actually have a fabulous, for convenience, chair lift. Now, you can either use it to come up the stairs on your bottie, or we can use the remote control, take your shopping in. Actually, when we came in, we had the car park that we’ve seen downstairs. This is where you come up from the back of the car park. We come along here, in through the entrance, and you can plop your shopping on there, and you can do a little remote. How fabulous is that? Of course, you press it, and it can go all the way back, so convenience, convenience, convenience. No lifting big heavy bits and pieces up the stairs.
Now, the views, oh my goodness. The views are just absolutely stunning. We’ll see that when we come in. Character filled, two-bedroom Queenslander, luxury- lifestyle apartment. This is just beautiful. You actually feel as if you are in your own little world. It’s flooded with natural light, and for the 9,000th time, we will talk about location, but you wouldn’t know that you were in the heart of the village because you feel like you’re in your own little oasis.
I want us just to have a bit of a quick look out here. Light will change, but we have mountain views out your windows. We can pull this back here, and this is all totally open, totally bright. The living area, wow. How beautiful is this? Now, what you’ll also feel is the difference in the temperature. We’ve got full, massive air conditioning unit just here. Brilliant VJ, which is the vertical joist style, the way that the old Queenslander used to be made. It gives it so much character. Absolutely plenty, plenty of character. All the little bits going across the way.
Now, you can just stay there because I’ll take the time to open here. We’ve actually got plenty of cupboards that go all the way along. This is one great big cupboard. You’ve got plenty of space. I love this reception room. We call it a rumpus area. We call it a reception room. We’ve gone from views out to the mountains, from the mountains. Actually, if we just turn around here, we can actually just see again how fabulous that is. We’ve got beautiful mountain views here, and then we have got a Kuranda landscape just out here.
Now, this whole area opens up, so if I close this and I go like that– Oops. We can open up the whole of this wall into, just pop your little head out there, into Kuranda. Again, that’s fabulous fig tree, just glorious. The airflow is magic. The natural light is magic. This is where you’re going to spend an awful lot of your time.
Now, we’ve actually got two bedrooms. We’ve got a room on this side and we’ve got a room on that side, and we can go from either direction. We can go over here, we can go over here. Let’s walk around here so that we can see. We’ll go via the kitchen. This kitchen is new. It is super-duper functional. It’s very clean. It’s very tidy. Again, we’ve got a pantry in here, and I just love the floor. Easy care, Parisian style floor, almost. It just feels like a fabulous, fabulous apartment. Then we have our oven here.
This is one of the bedrooms or one of the rooms. It’s actually used or was used as a craft room. We get plenty of natural light. We come on through here. Beautiful stained glass windows. This takes us back through to the rumpus area. There we go. You can feel the breeze. You can actually feel the breeze coming through. Then we’ve got a mirror here. Brilliant, brilliant, lovely room.
If we come around this side here, we can see again all the– Whoops. We can see all the features of the Queenslander style. It’s a beautiful, freshly painted, tropical white. That’s just magic. Imagine waking up in the morning and just being able to be in the heart of the village. You can go downstairs, you can have your coffee, super wonderful.
Then we’ve got this lovely big, bright bathroom. Serves as a laundry as well. We’ve got a washing machine just here. We’ve got a shower, we’ve got a loo, we’ve got a beautiful vanity, plenty of space. This takes us back around into the living space. We’ll talk about it in a little bit more detail when I show you some of the different locations when we go out into the village.
Perfect for that short-term stay, a family. If you wanted to be an investor and you were renting it, this would accommodate a really large family. There’s almost nowhere in Kuranda where if you are visiting that you can actually stay. Brilliant location to Cairns, Barrier Reef, Port Douglas, the Tablelands. You’ve got everything that you ever need. Or two, if you just wanted to live in it, it’s a fabulous lifestyle. You’ve got super-duper convenience.
If you wanted to have long-term rental, who would not want to live in the middle of the village with access to everything? Just breathe it all in, and we’re going to go out, and we’re going to have a fantastic look at the location. It’s only a couple of minutes. All the things are only a couple of minutes away from your very new luxury, low-maintenance, fabulous home.
Oops, I did forget to mention that if you want to, there are some items that can stay perfect if it’s going to be a short-term stay accommodation. It would be super convenient. They include, if you want to, the bed, beautiful big wooden sideboard. The fridge, we’ve seen that when we went through into the little studio. These wonderful two big sofas. That’s one of them, great big comfy one. Another great big comfy sofa here, just perfect for sitting, relaxing.
We are now going to head out into Kuranda Village, and we are only one minute to Kuranda Pharmacy. That is The Red House just there. If you’re an artist, we’re only one and a half minutes from the Kuranda Arts Co-op where you can show all your wares. It’s just fabulous.

Angela: Only a two-minute walk to our local IGA fabulous supermarket. We just come at the IGA. This is William. How are you, William?

Angela: A two-minute walk to the local post office where you can get all your goodies sent to your house. Absolutely fabulous. Look at all this car parking space, it’s just wonderful. A five-minute walk to as many vibrant markets as you would like. We’ve got a market here, we’ve got original markets over there, we’ve got markets round over there. Absolutely vibrant and fabulous.

Angela: A five-minute quick walk through the gorgeous park there to one of Kuranda’s loveliest restaurants, best crepes on the planet. Absolutely fabulous and friendly staff. We are just still just one minute back from your luxury apartment. I mentioned, you can see location, location, location, unashamedly about convenience, about low-maintenance lifestyle. As I said at the beginning, this is just a rare, rare, rare opportunity.
If you wanted to live in the property on your own, you get access to everything you would ever need. We’re also only 15 minutes down the range from Smithfield Shopping Centre where you’ve got Coles and Woolies in addition to all of this. If you wanted long-term rental, there is almost nothing for rent in Kuranda, and again, convenience is just second to none. If you are an investor, again, I’m going to skip going on, but again, short-term stay accommodation. That beautiful apartment would take any family, two families, and it would make a fantastic base for the Great Barrier Reef, or the Tablelands, or Cairns, or Port Douglas.
