Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin, and welcome to 21 Platypus Close in Kuranda. I’m super particular about the lifestyle properties that I represent and this one is no exception. It’s a one owner. It has been architecturally designed and engineered to appear to float in the rainforest. It’s on approximately one and a half acres. We’re at the highest point in Platypus Close so we got all these beautiful breezes and of course, it’s a hundred percent private. One of the things you’ll notice when you actually walk into the house is the size and the sense of scale. The rooms are big. The ceilings are high, and of course, immaculately maintained and beautifully presented. Go on in and have a look. I know you’ll be impressed.

One of the key things that you’ll notice about this house that is very, very different is that it has an entrance lobby. It’s huge. I’m not a big person, but look, it’s big. The house off to the right is the main living area, the kitchen, the master bedroom, the walk-through robe, and of course, the dining. Off to your left, we’ve got two bedrooms, the biggest utility space you’ll ever come across in any house, bathroom, plus an additional toilet. Go on in and have a look.

One of the things that we spoke about is the sense of scale and the size of this property. At the apex, we got a whopping five-meter high. I know that you’ll find that hard to believe, but that really is five meters. At the wall height to ceiling, at about 2.7. The design and the thought that’s gone into this place is amazing. This is brilliant, media center extraordinaire. You can hide the tele, you’ve got your videos, you got all your music stuff. What a fabulous idea.

Everything about this house is quality. You’ve got these five-meter bifold doors. We talked about living in the rainforest, this whole section opens up. The whole house is fly-screened so you don’t have any insects coming in. Of course, we’ve got this gorgeous wooden deck that you can sit out and let the outside come in. Just stunning.

In terms of laundries, this is the biggest I have seen in a very, very, very long time. You could actually make this an extra room. You could make it a bedroom. You could make into an extra office. You could do whatever you want to with it. It’s up to you and your imagination. Fabulous workbench. The tumble dryer is actually vented to the outside, which for those who know about the wet tropics, is a brilliant idea. Again, engineering and ingenuity at work.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed visiting 21 Platypus Close today. You can see that there has been absolutely no expense spared on quality fittings. The fixtures, the way it’s been maintained and of course, beautifully, beautifully presented. It’s contemporary, but it’s organic. It’s got the galvo. It’s got the wooden floors. I’m going to recap, but it might take a little minute. Bear with me.
We’re on an approximately one and a half acres. We are standing on a concrete driveway. That’s really, really important, very expensive too. The whole of the house has fly screens. We’ve got louver windows, most of them are wooden. We’ve got Miele dishwashers. We’ve got double showers. We’ve got huge utilities. We’ve got automatic sprinkler system in the garden and the list goes on and on and on. This one won’t last long so be quick.
