Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin and today, we’re at Number 4 Masons Road in Kuranda. Masons road’s a long road, prestigious road in Kuranda, but here, we’re only five minutes to Barron Falls Rd. Today, we have a four-bedroom, two and a half bathroom house. It’s on nearly one acre, about 3,300 square meters, but the really interesting thing is that it’s had one owner. Come on down, we’ll have a chat as we wander into the house.
This is the main driveway. It’s concrete and for those who know anything about the wet tropics, concrete drives are really, really great. It’s benched. We have two levels. Top level, takes us down into the carport and the rest of the house goes down steps and the main area with the swimming pool is at the back. Now, as we come down here, we actually have a second dwelling. It’s a studio. It could be used for pretty much anything. Down here, we’ve got a carport so- whoops, got to work some stuff here. Come on down and have a look. You’ll love what you see.

Everything about this house is large. We’ve got the two living areas. I’ll do a little bit of orientation in a minute, but you have that feeling of space everywhere you go. You’ve just come in the front door. We’re in the main kitchen area. We have a formal dining and living there. Behind you, you’ve got a bedroom, an extra toilet and then, up this end of the house, we’ve got another living area. We’ve got three bedrooms and a really big bathroom. Go have a look.

This is the master wing. I call it a wing because it really does feel like a resort wing. This was used as a little anteroom, a sewing room, and an art room. We’ve got some big cupboards in here. Come on through and you will see what I mean. This is a really massive bedroom. This feels like the Hilton Hotel in terms of the ensuite. As you can see, you’ve got everything you need for all the luxury. We’ve got a bath. It’s not a spa bath, but it is a metal bath and it got your shower, your toilet, and of course, your vanity.

You just come through from the main ensuite wing master bedroom, two bedrooms, huge laundry, as you would have seen, and of course, an even bigger bathroom. We’re going to walk out into the entertainment area here. This house is original. These bricks here are from the old Kuranda Brick Factory, it no longer exists. All the pavers around about the outside are also from the Kuranda Brick Factory. Parquetry flooring was expensive when the house was built. It is more expensive now if you were to build a house. We even got things like silky oak wood trims built in 1990 and as I said, one owner, so you can’t get much better than that. Let’s go into the lifestyle area and have a look.

We’ve just come out the lifestyle doors into this back decked area. We’ve got the cool saltwater pool. You can have a look at that in a minute. Here is the studio or separate dwelling. Now, I call it a studio but you really could use it for anything. In anybody’s language, it’s ginormous. It’s about 48-square meters, lovely wooden deck, beautiful color, louvered doors for breezes. Go in and have a good look.

Here, we’re coming into the saltwater pool decked area. Let me open this up for you so you can go and have a look. Really hope you’ve enjoyed having a tour of Masons Road today. Just to recap, we have one owner, built in 1990. It has been really well looked after. We’re on concrete slab, rendered brick. Look at all these lovely, yummy features. The master bedroom wing was actually built in 1999. That was an extra add-on for a little bit of luxury and similar timing for the studio. You all have seen the saltwater pool. You can relax on those yummy days. We’re on nearly one acre. Look, it’s just lifestyle plus. The place has been freshly painted on the inside so you really can just move in.
