Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin and welcome to number 9 Sandalwood Close in Kuranda. This house is brand-new and is absolutely gorgeous and I mean absolutely gorgeous. The property is actually set at the end of a no through road and we’re on about approximately two acres of beautiful, beautiful rainforest. We’re elevated, so we’ve got a breeze, you can see my hair moving, and we have got views, let’s go in and have a look.

Come on in, you’ve just walked on a beautiful blackbutt timber deck, it’s about all 4 meters by 8 meters and we’ll spend a little bit of time after and we will have a look at the rain forest, the views are, just as I said, glorious. What do you make about this living area? The first thing that actually hits you when you come into this house, not only the brightness, but it is a really calm and I mean calm feel. It’s got beautiful neutral color tiles and this kitchen is absolutely to die for.
We’ve got silky wood bench tops and a combination too of stone, so we’ve got wood and we’ve got stone. We have got chef’s delight cooker, it’s gas cooking and it’s electric on the stove. Then we’ve got all these yummy little soft closed doors with no handle, so easy to clean and a little nook, just an example of the design that’s actually gone into this kitchen.
You can put some of your toasters or the things that you don’t necessarily want out on display and just let all the natural lines just make it feel luxurious. Of course, we have got this absolutely stunning, stunning window. You can imagine even washing your dishes, beautiful dishwasher of course, but if you hand-washing your cups and stuff or cooking, you’ve actually got the forest coming into the kitchen, just absolutely beautiful. Let’s go in and have a look at the other bedrooms and the bathrooms, they’re also to die for.

Isn’t this just absolutely gorgeous? Now, a little bit of orientation, we have the two big sliding bi-fold doors in the main living area and we’ve come down into this wonderful central little office nook area and we’ve got bedroom here, we’ve got main bathroom here. We have got the main laundry here, another bedroom, and we have got the master. Even though we’re coming down a hallway, we’ve got natural light, but fully screened and the ceilings are about 2.8 meters high.
Let’s come down into the master, you can just imagining waking it up in the morning on this gorgeous, gorgeous bed, I know you can’t see it at the moment, but you’re looking right into rainforest. As I said, it’s just this beautiful, beautiful calmness about it. The master has got fabulously concealed walking robe, but it’s more of walk round robe. Big big bed here, but look at this, gorgeous fitting drawers, we’ve got a mirror, we have got shelves, we’ve got plenty of room up top for suitcases or hat shelves. We have an absolutely beautiful, beautiful ensuite, and again, we’ve got that silky maple bench top that runs pretty much all the way through the house.
We talked about a little attention to detail, a little concealed doors, absolutely fabulous for saving space, and we’ve got low allergy carpet. You’ve got soft fluffy things under your feet when you get up in the morning and we go through on to, of course, tiled floors. Let’s go have a look at the other bedrooms and check out that laundry, it really is gorgeous.

Isn’t it a fantastic office space. Now, we spoke about the loveliness of this whole property and we’ve come into the bathroom, again, I go on about it because it really is important. We have these gorgeous wooden bench tops. We can see in the mirror, it’s a great big mirror. The quality of the fixtures and the fittings is huge. This whole, for example, this whole tapware, showerware set up, I think it’s got about 25 year warranty. The tap on the kitchen which we didn’t have a quick look at, you’ve got the squishier on it, so you can wash your dishes and again, the quality fittings in the ensuite.
It really is just, again, I keep going on about it and I make no apologies, it’s just a really lovely luxury.

We mentioned about the views on this particular property and we’ve got views over the both balconies of both entrances. Beautiful big mountain views through the kitchen window as I mentioned before and this is the back garden, beautiful almost two acres, as I said, of natural rainforest. The actual house pad area is about quarter of an acre, the majority of the land, you’re just going to have the most fantastic rainforest walks, you’re going to see butterflies, you’re going to see birds and all the way around the garden.
There are plenty of natives, I think about 200 natives have actually been planted so far. In a year, a couple years time, a couple of wait seasons, they’re going to be beautiful and lush and again, both attracting. Imagine sitting here just enjoying, big table, family, friends, cup of tea, glass of wine, whatever you fancy, but it is beautifully private and I said at the beginning about the breeze and you really can feel it, it’s a luxury feel of a deck.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed this beautifully wonderful tour of number 9 Sandalwood Close in Kuranda. I did mention, before we do a wrap-up I did mention about the bi-fold doors. They are so soft close like the kitchen, but we’ve got doors here and of course it bi-folds all the way pretty much throughout the main bedroom and the main entrance here. They are all fully screened, so you don’t have to worry about any of the little beasties that might come in at night, leave the windows open and again, just adds to that really yummy modern luxury. Let’s just do a bit of a recap, I hope you don’t mind me sitting down on this comfy-womfy stool. We’re on nearly two acres, it is about quarter acre cleared and of course, we’ve got that fantastic backdrop of a rainforest just– You can hear those birds. I hope you can hear the birds as we sit here the moment. Now, we’ve got LEDs all the way through the house, we’ve got 2.8 meter ceilings. Get you a television wall, is actually sound insulated, so it backs onto the bedroom and that really is going to help if you want to watch a little telly and someone is sleeping in the bedroom.
We’ve also got insulation in the roof, I mentioned we’ve got full flower fly screens, we’ve got fans, we’ve got tiles, and we have just the most amazing beautiful kitchen, and of course that lifestyle luxury deck.
