Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin, and welcome to 64-66 Masons Road in Kuranda. This is quite simply a beautiful low-maintenance lifestyle property. It’s only ever had one owner, so it has been immaculately maintained, and that lovingly looked after from the day it was built. Location is brilliant. We’re at the end of a no-through road. You can maybe hear some lawnmowers in the background. It’s a beautiful, sparkly day today, and everyone’s out doing the gardening, and it’s on a whopping 1.5 acres or 6,100 square metres off. Just fantastic, beautiful low-maintenance gardens, beautiful rainforest backdrop. Come on in. Now, the first thing that you are going to notice is that it is fresh, and as I said, it’s absolutely immaculate, and it’s totally, totally low-maintenance. I’m going to go on about that a lot because it is incredibly important. This is what this property is all about. Now, we’ve got a main living area here. Fabulous space, plenty of room for your big TV, and a wonderful big whopping air conditioner just so that you can stay cool pretty much all year round. Lots of natural light. We’ve got garden views, as we can see, pretty much from every room, and modern kitchen.
As I said, the house is built in 2013, so everything is still fresh and modern. We have got beautiful, nice, big, sparkly bench tops. We have got nice neutral colour doors, drawers, lovely kitchen, just modern, just fresh. We’ve got tiles up here. We’ve got a little range hood just there. What we love is this walk-in pantry. Plenty of space, so it’s actually big. We can actually get in here. It goes all the way to there, and of course, you can put all your little bits and your bobs to save them cluttering up your benches. Now, it’s got a light in there. Patio is outside. We’ll go and we’ll have a look at that in a minute.
We’ve got three bedrooms and we’ve got two bathrooms. It is, again, easy to clean, nice low-maintenance tiles. Just give them a mop once a week, and that’s about all you would need. Big white hallway. We’ve got three bedrooms, one, two, and three at the other end, so we’ll just start over here. Big, spacious. We’ve got Olga fans, and of course, we’ve got our built-in, not built-in– yes, we’ve got built-in robes with mirrors and sliders. I don’t know if we can see this, but the outside is just beautiful. It’s very, very private. We have screens on all the windows, so you can go away, and you can just leave your windows open, and you’ve got plenty of ventilation. Just super, super fabulous.
Then we’ve got this little room over here. This has just been used as a little storage area, but remember, rooms are just rooms. It is another bedroom, same as the other one over here. We’ve got our mirrors on the robes. We’ve got beautiful fans and these great, big, heavy, high-quality blinds, block-out blinds that you could easily come and put up and put down. Then we’ve got a loo in here. Just pop your little head in here, just a normal loo, put a little light on, and family bathroom. We’ll notice again that we have got our screens and the insects and the lawnmowers. I don’t know if you can still hear them. Just fabulous all-year-round comfort.
Love the colour. It’s calm. It’s just peaceful. Nice vanity. Just normal, great big shower. Then up through here, we’ll go into here in a minute, that’s a garage, plenty of storage in the hallway, big cupboards here. Then we have got our bathroom. Bigger than the other rooms. Again, we’ve got our fans. We’ve got these fabulous blinds that– not that you need them, because you have got privacy. As I said, you can actually go out there. You can take all your clothes off. Nobody would ever see you because that forest is part of your land, beautiful rainforest.
Again, we’ve got our screens here. En-suite, big en-suite. Corner shower, all your bits in there. Plenty of space to splish splash around, and again, just a nice big vanity. We’ve also got a little walk-in robe for all your little bits. Now, we’ve got cupboards in here. Plenty of space to hang up all your clothes, store any other little pieces and bits and bobs that you might want. Then we have got this fabulously bright, over-bright natural light laundry. Plenty of space again in here. We’ve got a stainless steel tub, got a little nice, crimsafe screen doors. That takes us out to the back, which we will see when we walk back round to the patio.
The garage is a double garage, which, again, most people, if you’ve got one car or two cars, you can pop them in. If you’ve got one car, like you can see here, plenty of places to put, your ride-on mower, storage, little bits and pieces. Now, these ride-on mowers and the generator, these would be available for sale if you wanted them. We’ve got, again, a door out to the garden. Behind us, we’ve actually got a little remote that opens the doors, open and close for us. I’m going to meet you just back round to the living area, and we’re going to have a head outside to that patio and the gardens.
You’re getting a sense for just what an easy-care property this actually is. We’re back in the living area, and the outdoor patio is just fabulous. Out of the weather, out of the elements. Again, we’ve got fabulous screen doors. This is just lovely. It’s probably the easiest and the most descriptive one. It is just lovely. It feels tropical. You can’t see your neighbours. You can’t hear your neighbours. All of this is yours. As I said, roughly, 6,100 square metres. If you’ve got little animals or if you’ve got little children, we have just got a nice convenient gate and little fencing all the way round so that your door can be open all year round if you want to and you just come in and out.
This is where you’re going to live. This is actually where you are going to live. This is just, as I said, it’s just lovely. Now, the gardens– One of the great things about this property is that we cannot be built out. We have a current neighbour just way up over there who’s not looking into the property. This is all protected rainforest on that side, and on that side, we have got Masons Road with rainforest too. We have this part over there where no one can build, no one can build. From the front to the side, you’re probably anywhere between 80 and 100 metres from the corner all the way back. Even just from here, the rainforest goes back probably about another 50 metres-ish or so.
Another little area here, which again, if you’ve got little dogs, perfect. Woah. Not sure how I’m going to get out. I might go back out this way.

Don’t forget, as part of that beautiful rainforest environment, we’ve actually got a little creek that runs down the very back of the property. Look at this, part of veggie area. How good’s that? We’ve actually got some chickens. This goes all the way around here. We’ve got a little shed at the back, which I’ll go round the other side and I’ll just quickly show you. I just love this. This is just an unexpected little addition. As we walk down the side, we have got all these natives. They’re going to attract all your birds, all your butterflies, beautiful grevillea, gorgeous little pods of puffy flowers at different times of the year. This is magic. This is a little chicken coop, which is a big structure. Have a look in here. Here we go. There we go. It’s probably really dark in here. It’s a little chicken den and that takes us out to a bits in there where, again, you could put your veggies if you wanted to. There’s plenty of space if you want to put in more fruit trees, if you want to put in plenty of veggie beds, if you want to put up a big shed.
We’ve got gorgeous little gingers. We’ve got some fruit trees. As I said, all this forest here is just magnificent. This is Masons Road that goes down there. Then we have an entrance that comes up, we’ve seen at the beginning, and it serves the three houses or the three properties that are actually in this little no-through road, little enclave, private, peaceful. Ooh, look at these we’ve got. Ah, sensational. Not sure what fruit they are, but they’re on that tree, on this tree, on that tree, and they’re also on that tree there. We’ve come full circle. You get a sense of how private, how much natural light we have, how much beauty in the actual rainforest.
This, as I said at the beginning, is just a fantastic low-maintenance lifestyle property. You will also have noticed that we have got solar panels. We’ve got about eight panels on the roof. I think the current owner has about $1,600 in credit. Not a high user of power, but they are there, and it is wonderfully helpful. Just take this in. Low-maintenance, easy-care, perfect for downsizing, perfect first home, perfect as an investment, brilliant location, and all this in about one and a half acres.
