Angela Martin: Hey I’m Angela Martin and welcome to number 6 Pomp Close in Speewah. I am super-duper excited about showing you this magnificent, and I mean magnificent 5-acre tropical luxury lifestyle property. I can guarantee, well, you can never always guarantee but I’ll be pretty close. If you had 100 wishlist items on your tick box, this property with that magnificence and the breathtaking mountain views and everything that it has to offer you in your new lifestyle will tick every single box. Let’s go in and have a brilliant explore. [music]
Isn’t this just fabulous? I think maybe fabulous, magnificent, stunning, wonderful will be the four words that I’m going to use throughout chatting with you today. Now, we came in the main door as everyone knows there are always one or two or three different entrances in any property in Far North Queensland. We had a little view at the beginning, our entertaining area we’ll explore that in a minute but we came in Pomp Close and we come down the concrete driveway, big double chunky carport into which really is indoor entertaining.
That’s massively fabulous outdoor entertaining, but if we just do a little bit of orientation before we have a look. Kitchen, dining, out the back we have the most amazing vegetable garden. Self-sustainability is such a big deal at the moment and that is all set up beautiful, beautiful beyond belief. We’ve got the granny flat just over on this side here. On here we’ll have a look and then down the hallway we have got essentially another bathroom great big corner bath with a separate toilet.
Then we’ve got three bedrooms and another little rumpus area and then this master wing at the very end has its own beautiful big walk-in ensuite. Great big bedroom and a luxury robe. Just have a lookout here and then we’re going to have a good look at the kitchen and head through and look at those veggie areas.
[music]
Amazing kitchens are just an absolute joy to prepare food and of course chat with family or friends. This is granite, look this is just a beautiful one big piece of gorgeous black granite stone. There is a breakfast bar so people can be sitting there. You chop away your fruit and your veggies and it is just a joyous experience but the size of the kitchen and the functionality of the kitchen is also brilliant. We’ve got a massive pantry, heaps and heaps, and heaps and heaps of storage.
Of course, we’ve got an oven and we’ve got a microwave but little things where you can hide things away, just brilliant. Of course, the marble goes– if I can squeeze over here the marble goes in there too so there’s been no shortage of thought and time, effort, energy. Of course, money has gone into the building of this property. It’s probably only about 10 years old and it has a super-duper energy rating. Everything that you see, everything you touch just feels high-end and absolutely gorgeous.
Before we go out into our entertaining area, we mentioned before, about actually being able to grow your own little fruit and veggies. We normally take this in with the garden but it’s such a beautiful feature and it is part of this indoor living chef creation, food creation that we just have to do it now because it just all makes sense. I don’t know where you would have seen built-in veggie beds that have just got so much feel, so much character. You could almost be forgiven for thinking that you were France because as you sit here you know you could have passion fruit growing up and over.
You could have like a little mozzie net that’s all very romantic. You could have jade vine. You could just have anything that you can eat. Not that you can eat jade vine, but your little kiwi fruits and stuff that love to dangle that would just be absolutely stunning. Rosemary and we can get a sense of I’ll just show you the back of the house here so that you can see how easy it is straight into the kitchen.
Of course, this is all watered. It has a watering a little watering system across the whole of your veggie patch. The other thing too is that we have access to fruit trees but hold that thought because we’re going to come back to that. We’re going to head back into the kitchen and I’m going to meet you out at the entertaining area.
[music]
I can’t stop touching that granite. The whole lifestyle feel for being able to grow your own fruits and veggies, I can still smell the rosemary on my hands, is unbelievable. You may have noticed when we looked back at the house that we actually have solar panels on the roof so roughly 5Kva about 20 panels and we’ve got solar hot water too. I mentioned we’ve got a really high energy rating for the house and that will help keep all those bills down.
The breeze is just exhilarating, it’s just beautiful. Of course, we’re standing here just having prepped our food out of a garden and we’re looking at mountain views in this entertaining area that I’m quite sure you would agree is unlike any other entertaining area. You will probably have seen Home Beautiful magazine, probably. Now, we’re not going to look at the granny flat at the moment we are actually just going to work our way through back through the house. Then we’ll do the granny flat and then we’ll go down into the gardens where we’ve got a massive shed, but I just wanted us to take this in.
I keep going on about things feeding the soul and it really just doesn’t get any better than this. For those who love water, we have a beautiful pond which again just adds to the whole lifestyle feel. I don’t know how much sun or wind or what part of the day this would be beautiful for having a cup of tea or a glass of wine, but I can guarantee having that water and maybe put little guppy fish or little goldfish or something in there is just– It’s beautiful. It really is beautiful. I’m just going to breathe for a minute and a half and then we’re going to go back in and we’re going to work our way through the house and we’re going to end up at that fabulous master ensuite.
[music]
That pond was just gorgeous, lovely little like I said, little goldfish or something. Now, we keep talking about breezes but this up here has got all these wooden louvers so you can close them or open them whichever way you want depending on how much breeze you want. Now, the laundry normally you wouldn’t spend much time in a laundry but if you had a laundry like this you would be happy to take off all your clothes, dirty washing, give it another wash, hang it out, bring it back into it all over again, because often laundries are crammed, and just– It’s laundry. This has got a beautiful view. It’s got garden views out that way, takes you out into the veggie area on steroids. Of course, you’ve got plenty of bench space. This feels like it’s a little bit higher so that when you’re folding stuff, you are not breaking your back and, of course, you’ve got open storage which is just brilliant in the wet tropics.
Other great thing too is that the doors when they open and close, don’t actually take up hall room space. This is the family bathroom. Beautiful as one would expect. It is big and it is spacious and we’ve got that lovely Bali sort of feel fence out there. This was where we have seen from the kitchen. We’ve got that lovely rustic screen painting if you like. Corner bath, it’s not a spa, it’s a corner bath. You can just imagine all those lovely bubbles. We too have just a separate loo in here, it’s got its own very nice walls.
Love those walls, whitewashed walls, and, of course, the vanity. This, we mentioned about the resort, is just gorgeous. It’s just gorgeous. Then, we come into what is probably quite unexpected actually, we have a rumpus area, which you think you were just coming down into the bedroom area, but this is a really big room. From an orientation point of view, that’s where we come in from the entertainment patio area.
You could use this for just relaxing, reading, watching telly, whatever you want it to be. Then we’ve got three other rooms here. Could be an office, could be a bedroom, could be an art studio, and you wouldn’t put your art studio on because we’ve got a shed, but this again, natural light, very bright, very airy, and all the bedrooms are all rooms, remember you can use whatever you want in your rooms, have all got fabulous. Let’s have a look in here. They all look like we’ve got plenty of storage and again, open airy space. The doors have beautiful little mirrors on them. Very stylish indeed.
Home office but doesn’t have to be a home office. This is just the cutest bedroom. I love this bedroom. Again, it was hard to see before, but do you see how that French and might actually disappear with the walls today, like a bit of a French provincial? Just rustic feel but very, very, very classy. Of course, again, everything opens out to garden views and this again is another beautiful room. Just calm I think is probably the best way to describe this whole house. If I stop talking, we can’t hear anything.
You’re in your own little world. This is just pretty, this is really, really pretty. If we go up into the master ensuite, which is in this direction, just before we do just put your little head out here so that you can see. You might not be able to see it for the sun, but it just gives you a sense of the whole in and out feel. I’m just going to go up here and let you see what it’s like to come down this hall because we’ve actually got quite a lot of space between the living, the office nook, the rumpus area, up into the master bedroom.
Look at this, just look at this. You could be lying in bed, reading, sleeping, you’re waking up in the morning and you are just looking out into the most amazing garden and all these doors open up onto the patio. We’ve got the windows they are slidy. Oh, you feel that breeze? Can you feel a breeze? It’s just– I can go on about it, but this is gorgeous. Little touches here.
We’ve got the bed head. You could put your family pictures or little flowers or anything in there. Gorgeous touch. Then, oops, we’ll walk around here where we have our hanging up, robe space. You come out the shower, you get up in the morning and you’ve got all these bits just at your fingertips, just great, absolutely great. I love all this open shelving, great in the wet tropics. This is just luxury. We’ve got a separate loo again in here, a separate toilet, and this good morning. Yum, yum, yum. Brush my teeth.
This is just– I sometimes often don’t get lost for words, but if you were in a Hilton Hotel and you’d paid an awful lot of money to stay overnight because it was a special occasion and you wanted to just relax and have a bottle of champagne at the end of the day, you would not find a suite like this, and this is actually going to be your new home. What makes it even more beautiful is that if we actually just come out here we have this ultimate sense of just being in a tropical garden. I know that you can’t feel it, but I can feel it and I’m trying to just get over how gorgeous it is. It truly is gorgeous.
We’ve got gingers, we’ve got cordylines, we’ve got gorgeous little bits of organic wood and, of course, it’s 100% private. I can’t stop talking about this shower. We are going to head back along, we’re going to go through the little outdoor entertaining area and have a look at the granny flat and then look out into the gardens.
[music]
This is just way too relaxing. You can almost imagine your– of course, you can imagine, your candles there at nighttime. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’ve also got little feature lights on the outsides of the house which would be a gorgeous surprise on your first night here cracking your lovely bottle of champagne or whatever celebration you would want to have. Just, again, adding to the ambiance.
Now, the granny flat is separate from the main house, and from an orientation point of view, we’ve actually got the main entrance just here. We came in the driveway with the carport and those gorgeous big double chunky doors, they’re just substantial. They’re absolutely substantial. Now it’s a little story with this granny flat and I’ll share it with you in just half a minute, but I just wanted to let us see again how easy, low maintenance, I mentioned about 10 years old the property is, so everything is slidy, beautiful, clean, immaculate, lovingly maintained. Love, love this wood.
You are going to have lots of friends, lots of visitors. When they see this gorgeous little flat. Now, self-contained. We’ve got a sink. You have to put in a little stove if you wanted to live here, but why would you when you have an entertainment area that is just that massive?
We’ve got a vanity here with a huge mirror and it goes into the bathroom and into the toilet. We’ll just have a quick walk through the bedroom and then we’ll come back in and have a look at the bathroom. You can have a little peek through in here as we go through. This is just a brilliant little bedroom or a studio or a relaxation space. You really can, you can do whatever you want with any of these rooms, but this is brilliant. We’ve not a vanity that’s very similar to the one that we’ve got in the main house. We’ve got a separate toilet, and again, check this out, we have beautiful Aesop, Australian company. Just indulgent shower little bits. Now, you may say, okay, why would we have that door at the bathroom? Very simple reason. This originally was going to be the pool house. If you were to put in a pool just right here, slap bang in the middle of your entertainment area where that lovely grass is, and these beautiful tropical plants, you would be straight out the pool, straight into the shower, you’d have your barbie area or your relaxation area which is now, obviously, a bedroom.
That begs the question, maybe you would want to put in a pool, maybe not, but you can either have it as a pool house, if you put in a pool, or you can have it as a self-contained granny flat, either/or fabulous. We are going to head out into the gardens and we’re going to have a bit of a quick look around and then check out that massive shed.
[music]
I just wanted to remind you that we do have the two entrances. We’ve just come out the granny flat just here and at the beginning, we had the entrance just there, and then the concrete driveway that takes us up into the house. This whole driveway takes us to the shed which is what I’m going to show you right now.
[music]
Isn’t this absolutely just glorious? Now again, I hope you can see the breeze that we have on this elevated– We didn’t talk about that in the beginning, but Boonaloo Estate in Speewah is actually elevated so you just have that, oh, beautiful tropical breeze. The driveway comes all the way down here and I wanted us, just before we go in to explore that massive four and half bay shed, I just– Oh, I’ve been waiting for ages to say that.
We have plenty of space, so that if you have got cars or trucks, or machinery, you can come in that way. You got plenty of space. We have got fenced– just really for screening if you’ve got stuff parked here because you do not want to spoil that beautiful view from the house. We’ve also got another driveway that comes in over this side, we’ll have a look at that in a minute, so that you can get into this whole section of land pretty much two ways, so the biggest of trucks, trailers, boats, camper van, everything that you would want.
Of course, you got a little spot there maybe for putting in your gardening, quinkin, or just– Again, you could use it for whatever you want. Now, I’m going to do a drum roll. I’m going to open up the shed because you are going to be, “Wow.” It has power, I hear you asking. Now, this really is from a shed point of view– I haven’t opened up all the doors, but you can see how light it is.
We’ve got a little man door just behind us. We’ve got our windows over here and mezzanine. When it comes to actually storing extra stuff, which I’m sure you probably have, but you can get a lot of extra stuff up here. Yes, brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Who would not want a work shed where you’re here doing your pottering, or your hobbies, or just whatever you want to do– the convenience of your very own toilet.
Now, you can see how high this is. It’s clearly insulated as well. One, two, so we’ve got three bays in terms of the actual doors, so you really could get a lot of stuff in here. Of course, this is a whole extra section for– Again, whatever you would like, but this is like a dream. You might call this a dream building, that’s the mega dream building, but this is clearly a dream building. This is where you could do whatever you would always imagine and it’s all here ready just to move in.
We’re going to have a bit of a quick explore of the gardens and then a wrap up. Wasn’t that just the most amazing shed? Now, we mentioned a bit the extra gate here, so don’t forget you can come in lots of different ways. Imagine a resort, luxury lifestyle property on five glorious acres with all the gorgeous things that we’ve looked at and spoken about.
Then, lets add to that a little bit of rainforest, seasonal creek, a dam, fully-fenced, useable land, plus if you were able to get fruit trees that actually produced fruit all year round, a mature orchard.
There’s about 150, you heard me correctly, approximately 1-5-0 mature fruit trees, fruit-bearing fruit trees. Now, you might say, well, “Hmm, is that a biggie?” Well, actually it is, because if you were to dig a hole and you put in a little tree right here and now that size, you could water it and feed it, and love it everyday of its life and you would go, “Where’s my fruit? Where’s my orange? Where’s my apple?” but these produce fruit.
You could sell them at the market, you could just be a fruitarian. You could add it to all your juices, just imagine the possibilities. Now, this little bit of rainforest, if we just come around and have a look from this angle– Whoops, from this angle, we have got this little niche bit of rainforest tucked away at the bottom corner of the property. We’ve come all the way down from the front, house is over here, shed’s here, fruit trees, mango trees, exotics. Exotic fruit trees and then we have this cool little oasis of rainforest.
We’ve got a dam just over here which we’re in the dry season, so there’s probably not too much water in it, but you could imagine how glorious that would be, with the little ducks and little frogs, and everything that we just love it. Wallabies that would come into your garden when we get the wet season. This section down over here, we’re not going to down into the rainforest but it just gives you a feel for the magic natural environment in which we live, and you can feel the temperature dropping.
There is, again, no water in here, but you got a beautiful gully, it’s got ferns, it’s got pandanus. It’s got all these rainforest trees and you could just pop a little chair down there, when it’s really warm and just read a book and listen to the water. It would be just sensational. We’ll have a bit of a quick look up here for the mountain views and then we’re going to head back up to the house and do a wrap up.
[music]
I really hope you have enjoyed this little baby, this mini-film of number 6, Pomp Close in Speewah. Why would you buy this property? [chuckles] It’s a bit of a silly question, isn’t it? It has everything. We spoke about wish lists and little tick boxes. I know that we don’t buy houses based on that, we buy it based on feel and the vibe as it were, but you cannot help but say, “It’s got this, it’s got this, it’s got this, it’s got this, it’s got this, it’s got this.”
I did also mention that there’s no guarantees that it’s got everything you want, but if this does not please, if this does not say, “I want this property,” then I’m sorry but I don’t know what else would. It is only about 10 years old, so we have modern but a classic feel. We have huge indoor, outdoor, and living. A separate wing over here for the master. Five acres, we’re fenced, we have got 5KVA solar power. We have got solar hot water. We’ve got a dam.
We got a rainforest. We got a seasonal creek and about 150 odd exotic fruit trees, and of course that shed. If you were into cars or just anything, hobbies, pottery studio, and two entrances, down to that big, massive focal point, it’s just a dream come true. Of course, kitchen with the granite bench tops and that brilliant vegetable, fruit-growing, vegetable-growing edible part of the garden.
Give me a call, Angela Martin. Oh, don’t forget– I did forget, that pond. That pond is sensational and of course, the granny flat for people coming to stay. I may have missed one, two other little baby things, but please forgive me. So do give me a call, Angela Martin, 0403-788-187. Visit the website, angelamartin.tv.
