Angela: Hi I’m Angela Martin and welcome to number 6 Forest Close in Kuranda. This is one of these delightful properties that would appeal to pretty much every member of the family, small or large. What makes it extra special is that it has only ever had one owner and it’s been beautifully maintained and looked after by the very same people who actually built it 15 years ago. You’re in for a gorgeous treat, brilliant location. Let’s go have a look at the house. You’re going to fall in love with it.

Angela: Before we head into the house, you’ll just have noticed beautiful concrete driveway and it goes all the way from the road straight up into what we can see is a double garage. It’s bigger than average double garage and a double carport as well. We’ve got this fabulous little turning area so you’re never going to get bogged when it rains. Let’s go in to your new home.

Angela: I just want to do a little bit of orientation. Now we are in the main part of the living area. We’ve just come up the driveway. On this side of the house, we’ve got two bedrooms, fabulous big kitchen. We have a laundry through here. Pantry storage in this house is amazing. Big walk-in pantry here. Then over this side, we have got the main bathroom, toilet, another great big walkthrough or walk-in laundry-type linen cupboard but again big.
Then through the end, we’ve got the master wing where we’ve got the main bedroom and a walkthrough robe into the ensuite. The whole house is insulated. As I mentioned at the beginning, it is just one owner new. Literally, it has just been so amazingly maintained. Before we go have a look at the bedrooms and the bathrooms and kitchen, I just wanted to let you note, we have a surround sound, the HD audio, and the TV is actually wired up through the ceiling.
It’s done in such a way that if you want to have your sound system or your telly in that direction you can, but you can also have it face this direction just by turning everything around because we’ve also got your antenna and your audio that can be looked at in that direction. Just some of the little attention to details that you’ll find. Beautiful, beautiful, big, yummy central island working bench.
Again, I mentioned that perfect for big families, small families, couples. It really is a brilliant functional kitchen. One of the other things, you’re going to hear a lot about this, is it has two kinds of water. We’ve got the mains for water, but there’s also for those who like to drink rainwater. We’ve got a big 6000-meter tank just at the side of the garage. We can choose to drink that if we want. Go have a bit of a wander and we’re going to head outside.
[music] This is one of the storage cabinets that I was telling you about. Now owners will probably go, “Oh my goodness, it’s not clean and tidy.” I just want to let you see how big and spacious it actually is. Toilet, main bathroom.

Angela: Another big cupboard. One of the things that I should mention is that each of the bedrooms have sliding robes so storage is such a big deal. We’ve got storage in all the bedrooms. We’ve got plenty of storage in the kitchen. We’ve got plenty of storage in the walk-through robe, that great, big hallway cupboard. Again, very similar great, big storage in the pantry. Plenty of space to put– Almost like a bit of a butler’s kitchen.
We’re going to head through the laundry, we’re going to have a look around the back because there is this brilliant walkway that just keeps everything dry at the back of the house when it is raining. We’ll walk through and we’ll go into the double garage before we get into gardens.

Angela: Isn’t this just an absolutely brilliant undercover area? Of course, concrete paving drainage is absolutely a best friend in the wet tropics. Now, a little bit of infrastructure. We have big generator input that, again, your generator is not going to get wet if it fits there and plugs straight into the house. This is little tradesman’s entrance for the bigger than average double garage. It is block solid. It’s bright, and it’s clean. We’ve got concrete floor. Great for anyone who has cars, bikes or toys. Of course, we have got a double carport. This really is just a brilliant functional area, come in and out.
Again, you’re not worrying about the rain. Get your shopping, you’re not worrying about getting wet. We’re going to head out into the gardens. We’re just going to enjoy it.

The gardens are really beautiful but they are low maintenance. The actual land area is about one and a quarter acres, 1.4 acres I should say, about 5,700 square meters. It’s fenced on all three sides. We’ve got a fence down that side, a fence down the bottom, and a fence up the side. It’s dog-friendly. It’s child-friendly. Of course, if you wanted to, you could always put a fence up the front. We’ve got beautiful fruit trees. This one is just coming ripe, I think. Mandarins, gorgeous. We’ve got lemons. We’ve got limes. We have got a little area there where we can strike little cuttings and start to grow all sorts of tropical things in there. This is the water tank that I was telling us about at the beginning. The house does have solar, so we’ve got three kVA solar, which will just help those power bills, and a little garden annex. If you have a lawn mower, which of course you will, this is where it can live.
You actually don’t have to clog up your gorgeous double garage, you can keep that for all your goodies. Your garden implements can live here again over the weather. It really has just been beautifully and brilliantly thought about. Look at these palms, unbelievable. They have been here obviously a long time, I would say, planted by the original owners, so probably 15 years or so in a great big variety. The whole garden is just really tropical feeling. If you can see just down the side of the pathway, we’ve got those low-voltage lights as well, and we have NBN and that backs on to a nature reserve. It’s just got everything.
