Angela Martin: H. I’m Angela Martin and welcome to number 5 Williamson Drive in Kuranda. This would have to be one of the cutest tree-house style houses that I’ve seen in a very long time. It’s 11 years young, it’s made from steel so it is super duper low maintenance. We’re on over an acre 4,500 square meters and it is supremely private. Let’s go in and have a look

I just want to do a little bit of orientation. We’ve come in the main entrance from the driveway and we have got three bedrooms and a bathroom in the house. Now upstairs which is where we’re at, we’ve got bedroom behind us, we’ve got a fabulous deck that we’ll look at shortly. Then off to the side we’ve got a bathroom and laundry and then on this wall here we have got a bedroom. Now, this kitchen is actually brand new. This has probably only been chopped on and prepared on a handful of times and it really does have a bright and in other words sound really contrived but it’s it is bright and it is airy feeling. Of course out there we’ve got the most amazing rainforest views.
This is new, stainless steel. It is Italian made. Made in Italy which makes some nice refreshing change and it is gas cooking and it’s also gas oven. Gorgeous. We’ve got real nice, easy wipe down again new laminex doors, lovely stainless steel sink and if you just fancy a cup of tea we’ve got a really lovely new kettle. Plenty of storage. We’ve got room for a fridge and we’ve also got room for our really big pantry which is actually just here. Come on around, have a look and then we’ll head it under the balcony.

This really is the key, I think to the whole property. It is absolutely– It is stunning. This deck you actually feel as if you are right at the canopy in the rainforest. You can hear the birds, you can see butterflies. There’s been Wallabies in the garden already and just a little bit a go and hopefully, we’ll see it before we go there was actually Kookaburras just literally here coming in from the trees. It’s quiet, it’s peaceful, it’s about 9 meters by 4 meters so you can get the biggest dining room table or a lounge or a telly whatever you want to do just to relax out here. But it just captures the very essence of this property. It really is magical.

You just never would tire of literally sitting here. One of the things that I wanted to show you is the gorgeous, the Heliconius, the tower ginger, we have got something here, I don’t know if you can see it but it’s called a angels trumpet and we’ve got literally flowers about that big hanging off that tarp, that bush. It’s just to die for and it smells beautiful. We’ve got the shed. Now, a shed, you can get a Land Cruiser in there. It’s about 6×4 undercover. We have got power and we have got water. It’s super close to the house for convenience, we’ve got plenty of areas there for drainage, we’ve got bluestone. It’s all gorgeously retained. I don’t know if you can see here, come round have a look. We come from the top of the driveway and this is where the stairs take us down into the other third bedroom or the office. The whole thing just works and you really do feel like you are in the middle of the rainforest

This is a second bedroom but the current owners are actually in the middle moving. This is being used for storage as is the third bedroom or the office downstairs but this bathroom is huge. It’s combined laundry and bathroom but it really just means that if you’ve been out in the garden or it’s a really hot day you can come in you can literally just take your clothes off you can throw them in the washing machine and straight into the shower. I reckon it’s super duper convenient

We’ve seen upstairs, we’re about to go down into the garden and also that third bedroom or the office whatever you want to call it. I just love these stairs. They’re again, I use the word cute because that’s what I think they are, they’re just cute.

Come on down. We’ve come down these first little set of stairs and this one actually goes down into the garden. A little area around there that you could I don’t know I even put a little table and chairs not that you probably would because we’ve got that fabulous balcony up on that side and this room down here also has its own gorgeous little balcony. If we can just take 30 seconds, there’s got plenty of room underneath here for storage. We’ve got hanging boats and kayaks and canoes. You’ve maybe noticed that we’ve got instant gas hot water which is really handy and of course we’ve got regular water taps and they go on about it again but we’ve got fabulous drainage all the way through. Let’s come through here. Still being used as storage but a fabulous feel of a room. You could have family come, friends, you could have it AirB&B but again all steel constructions so that even though we are in the most beautiful part of the world green wood and rainforesty, we don’t have to worry about the house getting eaten because it is filled with wood. It really is just– It’s a great combination.

This is really impressive. We’re down in the garden and you have to admit that when you see the house from this particular viewpoint you really are up close to the tops of the trees and I mentioned about the birds and the butterflies and the Wallabies and the wildlife and you really can hear the birds. It’s super quiet and, as you can see, is a 100% private. Now, we do have a seasonal creek that runs through the property and if you can imagine, the top of the balustrading down to the ground is about seven meters. That would give you a bit of an idea about how much gorgeous elevation you’ve got.
Which of course also helps with the breezes and with completely fly-screened. When you are out there and it’s night time you can have all the windows and doors open, have your fly screens closed and you can still enjoy this fantastic area in the tropics.

No property in Kuranda would be complete unless we had a veggie garden. Now, there’s not many vegetables in it at the moment but again it’s easy access. You can come down here, you can put your little trowel in, you can get your herbs, you can get little– I think that’s zucchini over there, not 100% sure, but again just really convenient.
We’ve got beautiful tree ferns and the big gas bottle that you would see that comes up into the kitchen for the gas cooking. Before we finish, let’s have a look at this fantastic shed and then we’ll head back out into the balcony.

The shed is a really magical spot because you come just to the top of the driveway. Super easy to get into the house, and as I said at the beginning, we’ve actually got plenty of space in here for a Land Cruiser and if you did want any extra undercover, you could always just put a little bit on the front. Now, shed here, big enough for all your tools. As you can see it’s used for storage and there is also plenty of storage all the way round the side of the shed. If you wanted to put in something in the back, some uglies that you don’t want people to see, then again, there is plenty of room.

We have that fantastic Kookaburra as I mentioned at the beginning, actually sitting on the deck beside us. Absolutely magical.
Now, we are three bedroom and a bathroom. Beautiful elevated treehouse only 11 years young, as I mentioned, and the low maintenance is just such a fantastic factor. All steel and of course color bond on the outside but we do have that organic feel with the wooden deck out here. That is just to die for. Unbelievably brilliant. Really do feel as if you’re elevated in the rainforest. Again, if you have a look all the way round, it’s quiet and it’s peaceful and it’s private.
Now, we’re on 45,00 square meters. Which is just about over an acre. We’re on a fantastic dress cycle location on Williamson Drive in Kuranda, and we are NBN ready. We have fully screened doors and windows. No beasties and no bugs, we are on town water which just makes it fantastic. You don’t have to even worry about water and it really is just one of the most magical parts of the world.
