Angela Martin: Hi. I’m Angela Martin. Welcome to number five, Ardmore Park in Kuranda. I’m really, really excited about sharing this particular property with you today because it was lovingly designed and created and built by a crafts-person, a the true artisan and believe it or not, it’s the same person who still owns the property today. Your new home is a one owner and you really cannot get any better than that.
We have a fantastic feeling tropical Queenslander and upstairs we’ve got three bedrooms, we’ve got a fantastic open living area and you can start to see lovely, big, wide verandas. We have got a powder room, a biggest bathroom you’ll ever seen in your whole life and it could be a powder room, it could be a bathroom, it could be a dressing room, it could be a shower room, but I can guarantee you’re going to fall in love with it.
Then underneath we’ve got fantastic chefs kitchen and outdoor beautiful patio area. I just know that you’re going to fall in love with this property. Let’s go in and have a look and we’ll show all the yummy exotic timbers and all the history that goes with it. Let’s go through.

Welcome to this fantastic kitchen. Everyone who knows me knows that I have a fantastic love affair with beautiful kitchens. This one, there’s just almost too much to take in. We mentioned about the crafts person or the craftsmen who actually built this house, these cupboard doors are actually hand woven with exotic timbers, we’ve got hickory, and we’ve red cedar, we’ve got granite benchtops.
The person who put this in, a Swiss stone carver, apparently, had said that was one of the largest single pieces of granite stone that he had ever cut. That just gives you a bit of an idea about the quality of this house. We’ve got beautiful big open windows, we’ve got a dishwasher, we’ve got a fantastic patio where you can enjoy having your dinner and sitting around with friends.
We’ve got another toilet just off to your side here and then underneath the stairs we have got a fantastic great big cupboard. Let’s go upstairs and have a look up before we go upstairs and have a look let’s have a look at this bathroom. A little toilet in there. It’s absolutely to die for, its got beautiful lead light windows and an absolute artisan ceramic basin. You’re going to fall in love with that one too.

As I mentioned about all the yummy history related things on this property we have actually got exotic hardwood hickory stairs. Now, I don’t even think you can buy hickory anymore. These lead light windows, silky oak and they came from the old Rex theater again, everywhere you look, everything you touch has just got a yummy, organic delicious feel. Let’s come upstairs and we’ll have a look at the living area and that fantastic balcony.

We’ve just come upstairs into this fantastic living space. Again, I keep going on about it being organic but we’ve got the cypress poles, we’ve got cypress flooring, we’ve got silk oak doors. Just a little bit of orientation we have got these fantastic views out to the balcony. You could imagine doing your yoga class there on a Sunday morning for example. Behind us or off to your right hand side there we’ve got that fantastic indulgence bathroom.
We’ve got a main bedroom and again the bedroom walks out onto the balcony and then behind us we have another two rooms. The room just to our right hand side here can actually just head out onto the balcony as well. You get that sense of openness and space and yummy feeling. Let’s go into the balcony and let’s have a look at those gorgeous views and this gorgeous sense of relaxation.

How fantastic is this? We have our very own barn style door. I did say that this would be one of the biggest bathrooms that you’ve seen in a very, very long time. It’s got beautiful wooden split doors, we’ve got a vanity, we’ve got a toilet. One of the other things that is fantastic when you live in a Queenslander is that we do have lots of storage and each of the cupboards actually have a nice cotton cloth on them.
There’s plenty of ventilation especially, if you’re having hot bath or hot shower. As we go around here, we’ve got the shower and further down there there you can just imagine relaxing in those beautiful bubbly baths on those chilly Kuranda nights. You’re just going to fall in love with this bathroom.

Can you believe how gorgeous and breezy, I don’t know if you can see my little bunch here moving in the breeze, but you really get a sense of how relaxing and cool this balcony is. Just to give you a bit of an idea, we’ve got, it’s about three meters that way and about Angela steps, 12 meters that way, but we mentioned a little bit about the history at the beginning.
These lead light windows are absolutely beautiful. They came from one of the original Brisbane hotels and about 100 years old. I think you can agree that they just add such an element of organicness and history to this whole property. Of course, I mentioned too the fact that we’ve got a lot of silky oak doors but if you can hear those birds, it’s a very quiet, peaceful, almost too good to be true beautiful balcony you’re going to love.

We’ve got these cute fantastic little steps that come down from the main house to this beautiful organic studio. As I mentioned before, we could use it for pottery shed, we could use it for an artist studio, we could use it for pretty much anything that takes your imagination. We’ve got a little link to their for a car or a little ball or a bike and as I said at the beginning we’ve actually got access to the main road if you wanted to make it into a little granny flat.
Let’s have a sneak peek. Welcome to this fantastic little studio space. It really does feel like you just want to get in and get your hands dirty and just create whatever it is you want to create. Of course, we’ve get windows all the way round, you can open them up and get plenty of fresh air. LED lights on that side, again we’ve got LED lights on this side. Something worth noting is that the construction of this little studio and the house is a pyramid style roof facing north, so fantastic for all those energies plus really, really super strong construction. Enjoy.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed this fantastic tour of 5 Ardmore Park in Kuranda. If you can just bear with me, I would love to do just a little bit of recap. We spoke about the history and the lead lights, the silky oak doors, the craftsmanship, the artisanship and it really does help to create this fantastic organic yummy feeling home. I do know that you’re going to just appreciate every single thing about this house.
One of the things I forgot to mention was the brick pavers, it’s the same pavers that are at the Sheraton and they were actually made at the old brickworks no longer in existence, so again, another beautiful unique feature.
We’ve got the fantastic kitchen with those beautiful granite benches, we’ve got this pamperous powder room that we call a bathroom and you could have it as a dressing room, spa room, shower room but it is big and indulgent. Of course, those fantastic little barn doors. We’ve got the studio, it’s about 4.8, 5 meters roughly square, so you could use that for your pottery, for your art, you could use it for a work shed and it’s close enough to the road that you could put a little access in there if you wanted to make it for example a granny flat.
Half an acre of beautiful tropical gardens, easy walk into Kuranda village and of course, a all through road, this really is a fantastic property. Give me a call Angela Martin 0403788187 or please visit the website Angela Martin.com.au. I look forward to meeting with you in your new home.
