Angela: Hi, I’m Angela Martin, and welcome to number four Jumrum Close in Kuranda. There are certain properties that just seem to stand out from the rest for lots of different reasons. This is one of them. We are at the end of a very no through road and at the end of a very long 80-meter driveway. What we feel is open welcomingness, homeliness, coziness, cottage feel. The house inside, as you would expect, is immaculate. It’s been immaculately maintained, looked after.
Then the little sneak peek when we come along the end of the driveway, the gardens 6,800 square meters, that’s about an acre and a half of stunning botanical style gardens, lush, green, tropical, and absolutely gorgeous. Let’s go into here and have a good all look around. Before we do, press that subscribe button notification bell so that you can find out a bit more fabulous properties like this one. Let’s go in and have a look. You’re seriously going to fall in love with it.

Welcome, welcome, welcome. I did mention the words welcoming, homely, and cozy, and this is just the start of just how much love and attention and detail has gone into the whole of this property. When you come in, it’s private. The driveway is private. You come up into the entrance is private. Then you come into this oasis but, as you do, just pop your little head over there to the right-hand side. That is just a little teaser, if you like, of what’s to come in these, like I mentioned at the beginning, lush and tropical and green gardens.
How fabulous is this? There’s sometimes no words to actually describe. You can feel and you can see, but you can’t really explain what it’s like to stand here and just marvel at that. The gardens are just– I’m going to stop talking about the gardens because we’re going to go and have a good all explore. The living deck, so this is where you’re going to live. You come in at the end of the day or you sit and having your breakkie in the morning and it’s quiet, it’s peaceful.
I keep looking out there because that’s where you’re going to gravitate to. This is a fabulous, fabulous living space. Let’s go in and have a good all explore of the house.
[music]
Talk about coming home and feeling cozy and comfy and warm and all very snug and gorgeous. This is just a really lovely feel living area. We did mention that you’re going to live literally on that deck, winter, spring, summer, or autumn. If you did want to live on the inside, just, again, easy-care, low maintenance, nice tiled floors. Big air conditioner, just in case you want to close the doors on those hottest of hottest days.
Then we’ve got the kitchen. It’s like a farmhouse country-feel kitchen, plenty big, plenty of cupboard space. We’re looking out into gardens. From an orientation point of view, when we came in, at the top of the driveway, it came up here to the carport. Then we’ll come in the tradesmen entrance, if you like, the laundry area, or we could have just walked in where we came along the deck.
Nice standalone cooker, beautifully clean, stainless steel splashback, just really– I’ve forgotten about feel because– That’s nice. They don’t come with the house, but that’s very nice. It feels lovely, absolutely lovely. Now, we’ve got four bedrooms. We’ve got two at the side, two at the other side. They can be used for whatever you want them to be, of course. They’re big and they’re spacious.
Again, we’ve got lots and lots and lots of natural light everywhere we look. We’re looking out into garden. We’ve got fans. We’ve got high ceilings, nice character because the ceiling go like that as opposed to flat. Nice wooden doors. Then, in here, this is, again, just like a little snug nook Media Center just here so you could just close all your windows, your doors, have it nice and dark, and watch your Netflix movies or whatever you fancy.
Great little use of another bedroom. The house is original, would have been built around about 2002. It’s only about 20 years old. As you can see, I said that a million times now, fabulously maintained. Then we’ve got two other bedrooms here. We’ve got a separate toilet and then we’ve got our bathroom and our laundry. Let’s just pop your little head in here. Nice, romantic.
Again, nice feel in the high ceilings, wooden doors. Then this would be the master, plenty, big, again, like a gorgeous, comfy, cozy feel. Then just to the side here, we’ve got the toilet. We can just pop a little head in here, big loo. Again, you’ve got nice feel in this space. Then we’ve got this fabulous and I mean fabulous combined utility spot. We’ve got our laundry sink. We’ve got our washing machine. We’ve got a dryer. We’ve got a shower. We’ve got a vanity. It feels plenty big.
Whilst we’re at the side of the house, we’ll just pop a little head out here. This will take us out to the carport area. This is where we came in. Plenty of space under here. We’ve got a nice bit of shade cloth there because we’ve got– banging doors as always, we got breeze. You can start to see the makeup of the gardens where you’ve got gorgeous little retaining walls, we’ve got our shrubs. It really is just gorgeous.
We’re going to head back through there, going to meet you at the front deck, and then we’re going to explore the garden. Excitement plus.
[music]
This is just– Is there a word called majestical, magical. We’ve just come through the house, and you can hear nothing. Well, you can hear the birdsong, I’m sure you can hear that in the background too. This is spectacular. This deck is big. Come out here so you can get a sense of it. It runs the whole length of the house. I was just trying to work out before. We’ve got how many meters, roughly five meters plus a big overhang. Even in the wet tropics in which we just love living, we’re going to be dry. I think it’s about 18 meters that way. That’s a lot of outdoor living space. Now, if you’re a gardener– I’m a mad gardener when I get the opportunity. You’re just going to absolutely just– You’re going to be blown away by how gorgeous these gardens are.
Now around about the house, if you’ve got little dogs, or if you’ve got pets, or if you have young children, we’ve actually got a really good fence enclosure, if you’d like. We can see it more from here. We’re going to head out. Look at this. It’s like botanics, like the botanic gardens. Easy fence here.
When we came in, there’s a little gate up there as well. There’s a little gate on that side. You’re never going to feel like you’re hemmed in. Wouldn’t matter where you are in the garden, you can get in and out. You can see how handy that little spot is there. The palm trees are just glorious. Where would you like to start? Let’s head over this way. The driveway was about 80, 79, 80 meters long. You get that sense of isolation, seclusion, but you’re just so close, and I mean so close to everything.
We have beautiful relaxation spots. If you do yoga, or you do meditation, or you just like to sit and read a book, or you just want to just watch little fish play in the water, that is magic. I think there are little guppies in there, and they just jiggle around. We have a sense of just openness. Just before we have a look up here, just run your little eye around here.
We go all the way down there, and we go all the way across there, and we go all the way down past over that gorgeous layer of farm plants and shrubs and lilly-pillies. This is the driveway coming up. We’ve got two little outbuildings, if you like. We’ve got a shipping container, which will stay. At the moment, it’s used for gardening, bits and pieces, and for storage, and all other lovely little bits, but you can see it’s in really good condition. You could use that for whatever you would want it to be.
Look at this. We’ve got rocks, we’ve bromeliads. This is magic, absolutely magic, all the little attentions to details. Everywhere we walk around about the house, we’ve got stone pathways. It’s easy walking. It doesn’t matter how rainy, how wet, how dry it actually is.
We can head along that way. That’ll take us to the shed. Oh, I can hear geese. I can hear ducks. Maybe it’s just chickens that are getting fed at this time of day. Look. That. Oh, my goodness. Who would not want that in the garden?
I don’t know if you are looking to buy from maybe Melbourne or Sydney or Canberra, where this time of year, and I don’t mean to brag, but we’re in winter, and it’s about 27 degrees. The sun is splitting the sky and it is glorious. If you’re all happed up and shivering with the rain, and you get the chance to be in amongst this tropical gorgeousness, well, this could be the property for you.
Now, this is a– It’s like a little shade house or a storage area. You put your tractor, if you’ve got a tractor, or you’ve gotten an implement or your trailer. Look at this. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. We’ve got plenty of natural light coming in. Just the feel in the organics of this, if you’re into pottery or woodworking or you just like to just do stuff, this is brilliant.
We’ve got good old copper logs. We’ve got good old bits of– Oh, I love it. You just actually would want to spend a lot of time here doing whatever it is that feeds the soul. Again, plenty of room for your lawn mower. Just take a little breath in and just have a look back up there, and I’m going to meet you down at that chicken pen.
[music]
There were just parrots there before. They’re big, but six or seven of them, beautiful, big red crests on their little tummies. Let’s talk about self-sustainability. We’ve got solar power on the house. It’s about 6.5 kVA. A fabulous start to being able to just not have any electricity bills. We have been able to have fresh eggs, or duck eggs with chicken eggs, or geese eggs. This is a brilliant area. Plenty, plenty of space.
Again, you can see all the little pathways that were upfront the shed. This is little chickie heaven. What chickens would not love to play in there? That’s just brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Again, if you’ve got children, or you just want to grow your own food, which I’ll come to, that is magic. Again, just take note of how immaculate this is. We’ve got little pathways that pretty much go everywhere.
We’re going to head that way so that you get a sense of the size of the garden. Watch your little feet as we go over here. Love, just love it. It’s big. If we look up at the back of the house, under that fabulous lifestyle deck, and we’ve got a little garden shed, and we’ve got a shipping container, all the joys of life just come pretty much flooding in.
We can play badminton, or we could play tennis in this. I really do hope that you are getting a sense of open, bright, happy, sunny, joyous gardens. They are actually easy maintenance because you just jump on your little ride-on mower and you put your little earplugs in, and your hat on, and life just doesn’t get any better than this. We’ve got a picnic table, got a little swing over here, if you’ve got children, just that little tire swinging around.
Of course, it’s shady. We’ve got the most amazing shade trees here. On a hot sunny day, you could be sitting here relaxing. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I did mention it was winter. You could just get that burning up. You could sit and have whatever beverage of choice as the sun goes down. We’ve even got a spot here where we can put a wheelie bin. If that doesn’t show you just how much love and care and attention has gone into this property, I don’t know what will. That’s just another little fabulous feature, and it’s on a concrete slab.
We’re going to head down over that way. I’m going to show you a veggie area. I think that was just a little wallaby. From an orientation point of view, the house is up through there. We walked all the way round here, past the badminton area. We’ve got a big stock of firewood here for those, again, chilly Kuranda nights. This little path up here will end up going back up to the house, once we’ve done the tour, and that takes us up to that central part that you would have looked at from the balcony.
I’m just going to take it all in. Just you can breathe too with me. It’s all just too exciting.
[music]
I did mention, again, about self-sustainability, but before we talk about fabulous veggie area, if you’ve got children, this has just been set up perfectly. There’s a children’s play park, little area of a little possie for a position, or a little spot for some of the gardening stuff. Just brilliant. Come in here, come in. Growing food and being able to keep the little animals out because the wallabies will love with a passion everything that you’ve put in the ground. If it’s got little green bits on it, if it’s got little red bits on it, if it’s got little yellow bits on it, there will be guaranteed some little animal that will go, “Oh, for breakfast.” Having it fenced, again, two gates is always super-duper handy. It’s just magic.
Fully irrigated. garlic. Smell, garlic chives. That, probably shouldn’t eat garlic, is just gorgeous. Then we’ve got marigolds or tarragon. That’s some licorice very, very good for your tummy, and then we’ve got all our little fruit trees along the back. We’ve got some dragon fruit and some gingers. I’m a bit speechless. I have to say, this is just glorious. It’s absolutely glorious.
Now you could put 10 million fruit trees in here. You could put in a veggie spot that’s 5 times as big as this, but we’ve got 16 beds where you could grow herbs, veggies, tomatoes, anything that you would want to eat. With another couple of little spots just over here. Another couple of little beds just up over there, but this is paradise, absolutely paradise. I seriously want you to just breathe this in because this is special. I did mention about it being set apart from the rest and hopefully, now you can see why.
We just going to have a bit of a quick wander up through there. We’re going to go up those central steps so that we can go back to the house, and we’re going to do a quick wrap-up.
[music]
Hello. We did talk about fruit trees. That is a very well-established mango tree. I’m sure that would just give you mango jam. Well, it doesn’t actually make mango jam. You’ve got to make your mango jam, but you’ll be able to get all your lovely juicy fruits off that. This is just glorious. Look, other little spots up here. We’re not going to go up this way, but there’s pathways pretty much all around the garden, and again, they’re easy to walk. They are not covered in mud. You’ve got stones. You’ve got nice easy steps.
Other little veggie patch there and then, just so that we’ve got the orientation, that was where we came all the way around. Now, this takes us back up to the house, and it’s got bromeliads and lovely little just marigolds and color and freshness. It is just an absolute paradise. We’re going to go head up those steps, and I’m just going to meet at the back balcony.
[music]
I really hope you’ve enjoyed this gorgeous little tour to number 4 Jumrum Close in Kuranda and hopefully, fingers crossed, hopefully you have this amazing feel about this amazing property. I mentioned a hundred times now but especially at the beginning that there are just certain properties that stand apart genuinely from the rest, and it can be for lots of different reasons. It can be they’re sparkly or they’re green or they’re purple or the gold taps, but this is holistic.
It’s everything about it. It’s a well-maintained house, a fabulous lifestyle deck, and it’s about unashamedly the gardens. I know that we’ve done these to bits, but that is just glorious. That’s just color. It’s joy. We have all the potential for self-sustainability. We’ve got manicured lawns that are so low maintenance. The gardens are going to look after themselves.
We’ve got a shipping container. We’ve got a shade house, which is just brilliant, and then we’ve got a comfortable log cozy evening burning spot. We can play badminton. We’ve got a kid’s area, and we’ve got all the veggie space that you would ever want for, again, that’s self-sustainable living and, of course, solar on the house, 6.5 roughly kVA.
We’re so close to Kuranda village. We have got the amazing big long driveway, so you feel, I’m home. A welcome home. This is a one-in-a-million property so give me a call, Angela Martin 0403 788 187.
