Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin and welcome to number 4 Forest Close in Kuranda. You’re not going to believe what we’re about to see is we walk into this beautiful property. It looks on the outside as you would expect, a really gorgeous pole home but after about 10 years of extensive and high-end renovations the transformation will quite simply take your breath away. Let’s go in.
[music]
Angela: You are not going to believe how beautiful this kitchen is. Now, when I mentioned about the stunning transformation this is like a New York apartment versus a Bali resort. So, before I go on any great lengths about the actual kitchen, I want us to do just a little bit quick orientation. Now, we are in the kitchen and if we have a lookup here we have mezzanine which could be an extra lounge or living area and of course could also easily be made into another bedroom.
As we came in, we’ve got a bedroom just off to the side and then up the stairs, we have got brilliant beautiful bathroom with another bedroom. Off to the right here, we’ve got the master bedroom with walk-in robe and ensuite but the pièce de résistance is downstairs. We pretty much have this all over again. It is a completely self-contained lifestyle leisure area with a self-contained granny flat and then off over here we have got the pool. So, oh my goodness, we’re going to be here for a while.
Let us start. Where do we start after all that great big long list? With the kitchen. Now, this is about a $35,000 kitchen for those who love cooking. This would have to be the ultimate in kitchen design. Now we have got the commercial aspect feel of stainless steel which is just massively functional but then we’ve got that fantastic workbench. That is Brazilian granite. It is just the most beautiful. It’s not Laminex, it’s not some fake thing, it is a Brazilian granite. It is the most, I don’t often get lost for words I actually like to talk as people know, but it’s just warm and it is tactile and it just adds so much warmth to the whole pole home, New York apartment feel.
Now, I did talk about the cooking. So, this is completely integrated. We’ve got gas cooktop, stainless steel benches. We have got Smeg oven. Low sink which again just adds to the old charm of China, if you like. For those who like minimalist looks, these are actual draining racks. They integrate and they go under the sink. So, when you’re washing the plates you can put your bits in here or you can wash your cups or your wine glasses where you have been entertaining. Don’t forget. It all beautifully just fits in there. You don’t need drainage cluttering up. All that brilliant, brilliant, space.
Now, as if that’s not enough space enough for the biggest of fridges or wine fridges or bar fridges and we have got soft close doors at the sides for all your lovely cooking stuff. I have to say the lighting in this kitchen is just beautiful. They’ve all been individually designed and we have that warm vintage organic feel. If you look out over there that is the beginning of your party lifestyle. I shouldn’t say party but as in enjoyable lifestyle looking right into the rain forest. Got this brilliant bench here that is a breakfast bench, it’s an entertaining bench, it’s a dining bench. It actually doesn’t matter. It is just brilliant. Heads out onto the balcony.
Before we go outside, we’re going to have a wander through, have a quick look at those bedrooms.

Angela: If you’re into meditation or yoga or reading or you just want another quiet living space, this mezzanine when we were down in the kitchen looking up you really don’t get a sense of just how big actually is and, of course, we’ve got windows. The whole place is screened by the way. We’ve got all these windows letting natural light in but it’s calm. Of course, we’ve got a big cupboard here that goes out into the loft so that there is plenty of storage even up here but let’s just take a minute to have a look again at that kitchen. It is absolutely stunning. Hopefully there you can get a really good view and of course, downstairs we’ve got that extra space but let’s go and have a look at the other bedrooms.
[music]
Angela: I’m fascinated with that kitchen, I can’t stop looking at it. Now, master bedroom. Again, screened louver windows and this room is beautifully air-conditioned. We’ve got a walk-in closet in here and a brand new. When I say brand new I’m talking weeks old ensuite. Nice, fresh, beautifully clean, ready to go. Of course, we have got tiled floors which just make it super-duper low maintenance but you’re lying in bed, very comfy looking bed, and you’re looking out into that rain forest. Now, this property is 100% private so you can quite comfortably get up in the morning, do what you want to do, go out there sit and have your coffee, it is just magical.
[music]
Angela: Come on up, we’re going to head up to another, see what I love about this house, it’s just filled with all these lovely little areas. It makes it interesting and particularly special. Now, hallway here, just put your step there, and this actually could be another master. It depends on what your needs are, what your wants are. We’ve got brilliant cupboard here. Now, the bedroom here, oops, banged the door, this actually looks opens into under the front bathroom toilet but wait till you see this bathroom. Just wait till you see it.
This would have to be lovely bathroom, lovely kitchen. This is the family bathroom but personally, why would you not want to use this as your luxury ensuite. It absolutely is just brilliant. We’ve got these gorgeous, gorgeous, organic, natural sort of earthy colors. A great benchtop. We’ve got double vanities for his-and-her. Of course, again, we are fully tiled but look at this. Again, attention to detail. It is just brilliant. You’ve got all your lovelies, all your fluffy towels and of course, we have louvered and screened, fully screened windows. Big double shower in here. A lovely great head rose. Again, you can just imagine just freedom, unbelievable freedom in this bathroom. It’s just too gorgeous for words.
So, we’re going to head back down those stairs. We’re going to head out into the balcony and then we’re going to go downstairs, it’s so exciting.
[music]
Angela: I just love the high ceilings like, as if that is not enough. Check this out. This is one of those balconies that feel like it’s actually inside but outside, you don’t have your decking. It feels like regular insight, well, it is regular. Cypress indoor flooring and over that side, we have got which you can look at in a little minute, we have got a sneaky peek of the swimming pool area. It is beautiful. Again, if we just have a look from this outside in and we looked before inside out, you really can just imagine being here relaxing at the end of a hard week having family or friends around and just having the joy of actually cooking and preparing for everyone involved. This is impressive.
Come on up this way. This was the bedroom, the master bedroom that we had here. Again, plenty of space for the biggest of dining tables and look at the little kitten on the bed. Hello. Again, huge relaxation. My property is fenced on all three sides. We can again have a little sneak over there where there’s a beautiful bougainvillea and that takes us to the granny flat downstairs. We’ve got access down that way. Of course, we’ve got access, which we will use in the middle of the house straight downstairs. Let’s have a look at that beautiful rainforest view. Let’s have a little baby peek at the swimming pool, and then we’re going to go downstairs.
[music]
Angela: Come on down, you’re going to be so impressed. Come on.
[music]
Angela: There are just no words to explain the fact that we are now in this extra entertaining area. Now, this would have obviously been under the Pole home. It has been beautifully closed in. Again, I talk about the high-end renovations and hopefully, you’re getting the sense of how much love and energy and dollars have actually gone into making this just the most stunning, stunning lifestyle home. Louvers again, downstairs, we have got fully screened opening closing windows. We’ve got the bi-folds, that open and close. We’ll have a look at that when we go into the pool, but things like the attention to detail, all the mood lighting, all the quality lighting, all these gorgeous big wooden poles.
That is a huge sofa, one, two, three, four great big corner sofa. When you see them normally in people’s houses, they sort of swamp the room but this room is so big that even that looks not so big, but you can imagine sitting there, putting your little feet out watching the television. Here we have a gym area or again just it could be an office. We have a big storage area in there. We have a really big cupboard in here and another bathroom. Again this could be an ensuite, it could be Airbnb, so we’ve got a shower, vanity and toilets so probably shouldn’t open that cupboard. This is just brilliant.
Wait till you see in here. We have essentially an apartment, another apartment so you could have these doors closed without any problem. Separate area. When we came down the stairs again, you could have those doors closed or you could put up a little partition so that if you were to rent here or have someone stay extensively, they really would feel as if they were in their own little world. Brilliant, love these kitchen tiles again. It blends beautifully. Of course, we have the light cosmopolitan style floors, going to go on about it. We have got screened louver windows and bi-folds that just open up.
The whole of the bottom of the house opens up. No squeaky wooden doors here, all beautiful, smooth runners, whoops. That takes us all the way up into the pool area. Again, individual living. That’s the stairs that actually take us up to the house when we put up on that brilliant big balcony. What is not to love? Let’s head out and have a look at that swimming pool.
[music]
Angela: Come out, come out, come out, come out. Again, these beautiful big doors, super easy sliding, but, oh my goodness. Today’s the most beautiful day. It’s probably, I don’t know 30, 31, 32 degrees and it’s sparkling, sparkling blue sky. All you want to do seriously is jump into this pool, big umbrella, comfy chairs, a book, some family and some friends and you know what life just does not get any better than this. This is a beautiful magical private oasis.
[music]
Angela: Isn’t that an amazing pool? I want to talk about the grass. Now, you might think, Angela, really do we have to talk about grass? We have got this amazing, beautiful house in this brilliant location, end of a no through road, so you can hear maybe butterfly wings going but that’s about it and of course 100% private but grass. We’re going to head up to the little fire pit. For people who have slightly sloping land, they hate cutting grass, panic over. This grass is a slow-growing grass and it’s called zoysia or variations, there of.
You can use it in little putt, you know mini-golf courses so you can cut it and keep it beautifully flat, or you can just leave it and it really will not grow or if it does, it will grow like that amount. If you look at beautiful grassed area up here, we’ve actually got fruit trees too. We’ve got grapefruit, we’ve got lemon and we got lime, and probably lots more that I’ve forgotten about but see, grass, easy mow. Of course, we’ve got this brilliant, as if we need another entertaining area, brilliant little fire pit where it does get a little bit chilly in Kuranda. You could sit here and you could just enjoy.
Of course, we have got that brilliant house. We will actually turn around so we can see. I have to say that bougainvillea is just absolutely a standout. So, let’s head back indoors. I’m going to do a bit of a quick wrap up.
[music]
Angela: Really hoped you have enjoyed this somewhat extended little film, but hopefully you don’t mind because there is just so much to take in. Now, I’ll give you a really, really, really quick wrap up. Why should you buy this house? Well, oh my goodness, why would you not buy this house? I’m not going to go over every single feature and it’s this, and it’s that. If you appreciate quality– Oh, I forgot to mention solar, 4.2 kilowatts solar, and of course the land size, I didn’t mention that either. About an acre and a half of beautiful gardens, 6,300 square meters.
We’re not going to talk about the individual bits, but from a lifestyle point of view, unbelievable. Big enough space for families if you’ve got teenage kids. They could be downstairs and they’re all in separate area. If you have people here visiting, everyone has the space. You have brilliant, entertaining, amazing kitchen, unbelievably amazing kitchen, and of course, the pool area downstairs, it is just brilliant. Give me a call, Angela Martin, 0403 788 187.
