Angela Martin: Hi. I’m Angela Martin. Welcome to number 38 Tapiola Road in Kuranda. If you are looking for that lifestyle property that has peace and quiet tranquility, then this could be for you. What I’m absolutely fell in love with when I first came to see this property was the river. Not a creek, not a permanent creek, not a seasonal creek, but about 300 meters of perfect glossy river frontage, has a beautiful little private beach and it is just at the bottom of the garden. I’m really excited a bit to go down there like really excited, but we won’t go down there first, let’s go and have a look at the house. I know you’re going to love it.

Angela: We’ve just come through a front door, which is wider than normal as you can see. It’s super bright, everything walks out and looks out on to the whole of the garden. Again, it’s 100% private. Look at the size of this kitchen. Come on over I have a bit of a closer look, it’s about 7×7 meters. Now, a kitchen diner, I haven’t seen one that size in a very long time. Again, we’ve got louvers, we’ve got plenty of breeze coming through into the house. We’ve got beautiful high bright ceilings, again, still construction.
Then off to your right, we’ve got a laundry, we’ve got a bathroom, and we’ve got a bedroom. Then behind that in the other living area, we’ve got two extra bedrooms and of course, the master has got that annex. Let’s walk this way into the third open living space. Now, it looks like there’s no windows, but this is fully screened and again just so that you get a sense of scale, this is about seven meters and this is about five, four- one, two, three, about four meters.
You can put your lounge suite in here, you can put your barbie area in here and of course, you’ve got your veggie patch and you’re just looking out into the most magical garden. It really is fantastic and already, you can feel the breeze coming through. Let’s go back into the kitchen, go through the living room, you’ll notice the fireplace. Let’s have a look at the bedrooms. Off we go.

Angela: You’ll have had a fantastic feel to the house that it’s open, it’s bright, it’s airy and of course, we’ve just come out the sliding doors from the main living area. Close to the kitchen, you have to use a little bit of imagination here is our veggie patch. We’ve got the basil is still in perfect condition. A little bit of weeding, but we’ve got gorgeous organic steps. You can just imagine all your tomatoes, your basil, your herbs. We’ve actually still got rosemary that’s alive too, just outside you’re your kitchen window.
Over here we’ve got this fabulous, little work shed, art studio, workspace, you can call it whatever you like but it’s brilliant. It’s got power and you could pretty much do whatever you want with it. Let’s go and have a look.

Angela: The size of this little space is really, really deceiving. Just to give you an example, we are about 12 meters of this way from that corner to that corner. That’s enclosed and it’s got two little rooms both with power and that one’s got a little air conditioner. We’ve got an undercover slab just behind you, which again, is about six meters that way in about four meters that way. I love pottery and I think whoever had this property has used that as a pottery shed. It’s got a little bit of splats all up and down the wall and of course, we’ve got some artistic features here, but you know what, it’s organic and I love it. Going to have a quick look.

Angela: Just again, we’ve got a little bit of orientation so we know where we are. We’ve got the house behind us. To the left-hand side of the house, we’ve actually got the work shed pottery studio and of course, we’ve got a double carport just as you come up the drive and there is a garden shed next to the double carport. We’re on our way to the river, just hang on there. We’ve got a chook pen and a chook shed and the river is this way. Let’s go.

Angela: We’ve just come through the gate. The house is just over half a minute from there. Philodendron the things you find in the rainforest, this beautiful multicolored variegated philodendron on that tree. Absolutely loved it. This used to be some fabulous metal gazebo, but the imagination can run wild. I’m sure you could resurrect it and it’d be a fantastic picnic area just on the way to the river. We’re nearly there it’s about two seconds away. Let’s go.

Angela: One second to go and you actually feel like you’re on the beach. We’ve got white sand underfoot as we go through the rainforest, but this is what I’m really excited about. Let’s go and have a look together.

Angela: We’re here. It did only take two seconds, but you maybe didn’t think that this is in your garden. Beautiful. Legend has it that there’s gold in this river, haven’t seen any, but apparently, there is. You’ve got nearly 300 meters, you come down of a weekend, have a barbie, have friends, have family, have relies and you could just pan for gold. You could be billionaires without you even realizing it. We’ve got fantastic water holes and water just running through there. Hope you can see it. Then as you go all the way around to the right it’s just beautiful water and of course, we have got lovely white sand. This is absolutely stunning. Just love it, just love it.
