Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin and welcome to 31 Butler Drive in Kuranda. Everyone loves a Queenslander. They can be pretty, they can be romantic, but they’re so uniquely filled with character that it’s almost impossible to find another house that you can even compare it to. This one is no exception. What makes this one even more yummy is the fact that it’s actually nestled in about 4,200 square meters, so that’s about an acre of lush, gorgeous, rainforest, and tropical gardens.
The Queenslander is huge, it’s high set, and upstairs we’ve got three bedrooms, two bathrooms, really big kitchen, two living areas, a dining area, and a lovely little central patio. Then downstairs, we’ve got another bedroom, we’ve got a bathroom- sorry, a toilet, we’ve got a big laundry, and we have got enough space underneath for cars and toys and workshops. Let’s go in and have a look, you’re going to fall in love with the look and the feel of this fantastic Queenslander.

Welcome, we’ve just come in the main door and I would like to do just a little bit of orientation because, as I said at the beginning, it is a really big house, it’s bright and it’s spacious. Now, we mentioned character-filled, and the first thing that you see when you come in is the fact that it’s gorgeously tiled, and it’s not just regular tiles. They are marble tiles from Chillagoe and they run all the way through the top top layer of the house. If we look over to our left-hand side, we’ve got the master bedroom, we’ve got the main bathroom, and then we have two other bedrooms.
Then off to our right, we’ve actually got two living areas, a dining area, and the massive big kitchen, and of course, behind us, a beautiful little patio, but let’s come in and have a look at the kitchen. It is just gorgeous, we’ve got this lovely little servery bench that goes all the way along, easy to keep clean because it’s fully tiled, and of course, we’ve got the tiles on the floor as well, and beautiful, beautiful wooden doors. Gas cooktop for the chefs in the family and plenty of room for your fridge and just heaps and heaps and heaps of storage. You’re just going to cook up some really yummy dinners, I know it.

Hopefully, you’re getting a sense of just how spacious the top floor of this gorgeous Queenslander is. We’ve also got a little office nook on the side just as we go in and have a look at the bedroom, so make sure you just pop your little eyes there, you could put your computer table or the kids could play the games from there. As you can see, it’s big enough, huge big sofas, we’ve got big luxury leather chairs, it just oozes comfort. Of course, we’ve got that fantastic stove for those chilly Kuranda nights.

You just come out into the central patio area from the main bedroom with its own gorgeous little ensuite, and it joins the main living area behind us and the dining room just to your right-hand side. It’s private, it’s gorgeous, it’s spacious enough for family and friends sit and enjoy having a glass of wine at the end of the day or entertaining, having a gorgeous dinner. The backdrop rainforest is absolutely beautiful, it’s hard to imagine, but we’re about a third of the way onto the property, it’s a rectangular shape property. We have about another 80 meters of private rainforest garden, so it is just 100% private and relaxation plus, you’re going to fall in love with it, but let’s go down into the garden have a look.

You just come downstairs into what would be the fourth bedroom, but you could use it for anything: family retreat, guests staying over, or in this instance, a yummy music room. Walk this way. This takes us to the underside and central part of the house, and then off to our right, we’ve got a great big laundry and a toilet, we’ve got a great big storage room. This area here, well, you can see, we’ve got a huge campervan mobile home and it comfortably fits in. We’ve got room there for another car, you can make this a workshop and it’s low maintenance because we’re steel framed and we’re actually hardi-plank on top . Imagine, you could just run wild, you can make it whatever you want to make, it’s a fabulous, fabulous working living space.

I really hope you have enjoyed this brilliant tour of 31 Butler Drive in Kuranda. Let’s do a little bit of a recap because it was a lot to take in. The environment and the land is just to die for. It’s natural rainforest, you can see all around, we’ve got beautiful plants, they’re all established palms, are established trees, so you don’t have to do anything other than move in and enjoy it and of course, beautiful color and foliage. High set Queenslander, big and bright and airy, upstairs we’ve got three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and you just get that sense of open living space.
The kitchen’s huge, we’ve got a separate dining area, we’ve got two living areas, and of course, that really gorgeous central patio in the middle. Then we come downstairs and we have the same all over again, only it’s limited by your imagination. We’ve got plenty of room for cars, motorbikes. The roller door is automatic, so it’s handy if it rains, you can just come in and out as you please. A work shed, workshop, storage room, the list goes on.
