Angela Martin: Hi. I’m Angela Martin. Welcome to 25 Butler Drive in Kuranda. One of the first things that you’re going to notice about the entrance to your new home are these fantastic gates. They’re absolutely beautiful and tactile. They were actually created and designed by the same people who did a lot of the artwork in the Cairn’s Botanic Gardens. What a fantastic, impressive entrance that takes you down this beautiful private driveway up to the house. I’ll meet you down there.

Already, you can tell by the specialness of that entrance that you’re going to be in for a beautiful, big surprise with this gorgeous, gorgeous house. Now, it’s a split-level. It’s light, it’s very bright, and it’s very airy. It’s a bit like an Aladdin’s cave, it has all sorts of lovely little surprises everywhere you go. Upstairs is the main living area. We have got gorgeous kitchen, granite bench top dinette. Then we’ve got a balcony that looks right over onto the garden. Then we’ve got four bedrooms. One of them is actually being used at the moment as an office. The master, of course, has an en suite, and a walk in robe.
Then we have a mezzanine living area. Then on the ground floor, we’ve got another entrance down here is a family rumpus room. We have two other really usable big rooms. We have a laundry with a bathroom plus a work shed. Now, “How much better can it get?” I hear you say. Well, we have a granny flat, that self-contained kitchenette and bathroom. We have the most beautiful creek with waterholes, and the most natural little baby waterfall that comes in. It’s just to die for and it’s all on 1.2 acres of private, lush, tropical land. Let’s go upstairs, and have a look. You are seriously going to fall in love with this property.

You can see how special this house is, again, from the entrance all the way down the driveway, completely private. Then of course, we’re up onto that gorgeous little balcony into part of the split-level of the house. This is the mezzanine level which is one of the living areas. Then upstairs, we’ve got a kitchen, we’ve got a balcony, we’ve got our three bedrooms plus a master. Of course, I did forget to mention that we’ve also got a bathroom up in this main living area too.
Let’s head up here. As we come up, this is Makai maple. The joinery is absolutely beautiful. It’s just those little things. Of course, we’ve got rain forest timber hardwood floors. Let’s have a look here. Again, everyone knows that I love kitchens. Of course, we have this organic feel all over the house. We’ve got some turpentine poles. We’ve got beautiful granite. We’ve got drawers that are curved. Again, just to match nature. We have this fantastic deck that you can just sit, relax, and enjoy. Again, just very quickly, off to your side here, we’ve got the master bedroom, and we’ve got an en suite, and we’ve got a walk-in robe. Then to this side, we’ve got our three bedrooms plus a bathroom. Just enjoy.

It’s hard to believe that you’ve actually got living things inside your house. I don’t know the last time that you would actually seen hanging orchids, bromeliads. Beautiful. These are real. They really are truly real. Then, of course, when you look down over here, it’s like something out of a resort. Just pop your eyes down there. You will see it’s absolutely gorgeous. I’m going to take you down to the ground floor. As I said, it does feel like a resort. It’s got all these stainless steel architectural yumminess things. Again, we mentioned about our turpentine. We’ve got a hard wood steps. This is going to take us down into one of the family living rumpus areas.
Come this way. This way, this is what we’ve seen from upstairs. Just have a quick look. As I said, this could be the main rumpus area. It’s got the entrance out to the carport. Off to your side here, we’ve got a bathroom, we’ve got a laundry, we’ve got another great big room. Behind us, we’ve got another room, and this whole property as in every single window and door is fully fly screened. You don’t have to worry about any little beasties coming in. Head on through that way and have another look.

For the man in the house, I did mention at the beginning that we do have a workshop, and it’s this way. You’re not going believe the size of this workshop. Every man’s dream.

Hopefully, you’re getting a sense of how fantastic this property is. As I mentioned at the beginning, we’ve actually got a granny flat. It’s a very private, easy walking distance from the house. It’s obviously not far, but you feel like you’re in your little environment. We walk through this way, through gorgeous tropical gardens again. We’ve got heliconias, we’ve got fruit trees, we’ve got orchids. It’s just absolutely beautiful. Of course, our own little private entrance. Let’s go have a look at the granny flat.

You can feel the peace, and the quiet, and the serenity. We passed that lovely little pond just on the way up to the cabin here. You can actually still hear all the water trickling away. It’s just gorgeous. Of course, as we said at the beginning, we’ve got a self-contained cabin that you could have family, friends, relatives, maybe even income producing if you wanted to. Let’s go and have a look.
[music]
The cabin upstairs, as if it’s not enough in itself, we’ve actually got like a little baby house underneath. We’ve got concrete slab, we’ve got eating facilities, a little gas burner there, and we’ve also got washing facilities. Anybody who was staying here they really can be completely self-sufficient and, again, I keep going on about it but it’s 100% private. It’s just a beautiful, lovely, cool, relaxing area.
[music]
Can you believe that something so beautiful is actually in your backyard and it is just absolutely stunningly gorgeous and, of course, there are countless numbers of heliconias. We’ve got another kind over here and again if you look at the botanic gardens, these huge, huge, huge three meter and maybe even a little bit more, I just drip in the most beautiful fluorescences and this is all the way down to walking down to the creek. Let’s cut in this way and we’ll head down to the creek.
[music]
I mentioned about Aladdin’s cave at the beginning and this is just an example of where you could have a walkway that goes straight or you could have a walkway that has got beautiful cadence and curves and organic yummy feel but can you hear the creek? Come this way. It is literally on your back door. Behind us, we’ve actually got the balcony with the kitchen and the dining area and we’re looking over onto the water. It’s cool, it’s relaxing. It is absolutely just beautiful. Can you imagine yourself sitting here and looking at that on the hottest, hottest days in Kuranda? It is just stunning.
[music]
Again, one of the most fantastic things about this whole garden are, of course, the orchids. We’ve looked at heliconias. Isn’t that just absolutely beautiful? It’s a hibiscus and of course they only lasts like one day or two days but in amongst all the yummy flowers, we’ve even got a veggie patch that you can just grow your own veggies, your fruit, and remember we’ve got about 24-25 different varieties of fruit trees. This garden is just a tropical oasis.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed this extended tour of 25 Butler Drive in Kuranda. There is an awful lot to take in. Please again bear with me just so that we do a little bit of a recap. We have got 1.2 beautiful acres. We have an amazing split-level property upstairs in the main living area. We’ve got those four bedrooms, master, obviously, has the en suite and the walk-in robe. We have a bathroom and we have that fantastic living area with the kitchen, and then we’ve got mezzanine living.
Then downstairs, as you will have seen, it’s just huge it seems to go on forever. We’ve got a family rumpus, we’ve got a laundry and a bathroom, we’ve got a work shed, we got two other rooms. Not only could we use the granny flat with the downstairs as accommodation, we’ve also got downstairs in the main house that you could use for family or friends.
The house also has solar. It has a CAT5 KPA solar system on it so those energy bills are reduced. Again, it is fully screened, gardens are to die for, heaps of fruit trees, heliconias, beautiful gates at the front, hard to get that. Again, of course the pièce de résistance, it’s always a difficult word to say, is this fantastic waterhole. Give me a call, Angela Martin, 0403 788 187. Visit the web site angelamartin.com.au. You’re going to fall madly in love with this property.
