Angela Martin: Hi. I’m Angela Martin and welcome to number 24 Barron Falls Road in Kuranda. This is an absolutely beautiful rainforest property. It’s on about half an acre and we have got the best brilliant location in the whole planet. We can walk to Barron Falls. We can also walk into Kuranda Village. The house itself you’re going to fall in love with. It is a Queenslander, but cottagey feel it really is gorgeous. Let’s go in and have a look. You’re going to love it.

Angela: One of the first things that you will notice is that magic concrete driveway. I know I’ve gone about these things, but in the wet season having concrete is absolutely your very best friend. Now we have got beautiful alfresco area over here which we will have a look at in a minute. You can see already the dapple of the light in the rainforest. It is just magical. The house, as I said, it feels cottagey and it feels really cute, but it’s a way bigger than it looks from just this front balcony.
We’ll go in. It’s three bedrooms upstairs. Then two bathrooms. Then downstairs so we can go down here or we can go around the balcony and down there is another really big room, rumpus room, office room, baby granny flat, whatever you want to use it for, but let’s go in and have a look at this fabulous, cute Queenslander style cottage.

Angela: Welcome into your new home. Now a little bit of orientation. Kitchens, huge. Just so usable. Integrates beautifully with outside on the balcony. Then if you hear those birds outside, but it’s absolutely magical. Of course, we’ve got a main living area here, potbelly stove. Down the other end we have got three or two bedrooms down the end of the hallway. Then there’s a bathroom in between them so it’s like a shared bathroom or an en-suite. We can configure it whichever way you want.
Then there’s another bedroom just off to your right hand side here and another bathroom. If you think about it, you can have your own en-suite or you could have family members, share a bathroom, or you could have somebody having their own bathroom. Very, very flexible, but kitchens, we love kitchens. Great big utility sink, massive big walk-in pantry and again I keep going on about this, but you can look out to the rainforest and you really feel as if you’ve got people here or if you just cook it on your own, it is just so open. It’s got a beautiful open feel and the colors are magical.
We’ve got finer points. Heaps of power points all the way through the house. It’s I think actually it’s just been pretty much all electrified. That’s not the right word, but all the electrics have been changed and updated, so you don’t have to worry about that. We’ve got power points in the kitchen. Everywhere for all your favorite appliances and all that lovely chef cooking. Come on around. Have a look and then we’ll go have a look at the rest of the place.

Angela: Let’s head down this way. Before we go to the other end, I’m going to go on about it, we can see out into the rainforest almost every angle and from every window in the house. It’s just such a calming, relaxing feel. All that with the wooden floorboards and the soft light time, you almost just want to rug up and read a book. We won’t. We’ve got a balcony out there. That’s a long balcony that we’ve seen and we’ve got a fabulous square area here that again has got magic views of rainforest.
If we come through here, we spoke about this two-way bathroom. This would be biggest of the bedrooms, so you probably have this as your master. Then we’ve got the bathroom here, then we’ve got the other bedroom as we came up the hallway. I don’t know if you can see that through the video lens, but this is just to die for. We’ve got air-conditioning as we came through, but the whole house has flyscreen on the windows. You can lie in bed and you can have a look and enjoy the sounds of the rainforest. It is just amazing. Let’s go through, have a look at the two-way bathroom and I’ll meet you back outside.

Angela: Magical, I’ve used the word I think four times thus far, but it keeps coming into my head. That’s how I feel about this property, it is magical. It’s fifth to the sixth times, losing count. Let’s have a look here, we have got again the most amazing rainforest backdrop. You’ll notice that we’ve got drop down blinds. That’s for the sun or for the wind, or for the rain. It really means that this can be a smashing utility area. Indoor, outdoor living. We’ve got that brilliant kitchen. We’ve got that magic open flow into the living and dining area. Of course, then flows onto this really large lifestyle deck.
I don’t know if you can see, but we’ve actually got some veggies and a little greenhouse bits down there. We’ll go down into the underside of the house. That’s where the other office or rumpus room is. It’s just downstairs. I’ll meet you there.

Angela: You can imagine in the summer how beautiful and cool this would be. Just again in the rainforest, but that is just a fabulous utility room. As I said, rumpus, granny flat. You could just imagine extending this. You could put in a bathroom, you could put in a kitchen, or you could just make it a magic great, big- workshop area, but the space is obviously the size of the house. So you could if you wanted to, but as I say just go for broke. You could just extend it and make it whatever you want. It’s plenty, plenty, plenty big. Now let’s do a little turnaround here. I love these, these are homemade veggie patch, constructions, or just where you can germinate your little plants. It keeps all the animals off and it stops all the birds eating things like your tomatoes, or your capsicums. They love everything red, including me. Rainforest around here.
Again just the most stunning feel. The creek is also at the very bottom. We can’t see it from here, we go probably from front to back, about 100 meters. We’ve got little pathways and little walkways down through the rainforest which is just glorious. There’s actually a creek that runs all the way through the bottom, Jumrum creek. You could put little plants down there, you could take a cup of tea down there. It is just very, very relaxing. We head back around this way and we’re going to look at the alfresco entertaining yummy Mediterranean feel of our utility bit up the front. You’re going to fall in love with that, I love it to bits. Let’s go.

Angela: You’ve all seen that we have got enough lawn there just to keep people who do love to cut grass, just a little bit happy. Then when we did the pan around. Don’t forget we’ve got a little work shed there. There’s a big space at the back of the work shed too. There is, again, plenty of space to put all your bits and your bobs if you want to, but I love this. We’ve gone from rainforest cute Queenslandery to yummy rustic Mediterranean. It really compliments the property beautifully.
The colors are great, it just contrasts with the yummy green. We’ve got steps all the way up here. We’ve got sitting area, where again, it just all adds to that ambience and that lifestyle. It is just so relaxing. You’ve got a fire pit too, so don’t forget the fire pit. Lots of logs in there for these chilly winter days. Sit here, come around and have a look at the house in the rainforest. It is just beautiful.

Angela: I really hope you have enjoyed this tour at number 24 Barron Falls Road in Kuranda. Hopefully now, you get that feel for that magical sense that this property has to offer. It’s quiet, it’s peaceful. We have got a brilliant feel. I’m keeping on with that word “feel” because you can look at pictures, you can do drive-bys, but until you are actually in a place, and you’re standing on the balcony or you’re in the kitchen, it’s almost impossible to feel what the property has to offer. Again, a little bit of recap, we are so close to Kuranda village, you can walk. we’ve got Barron Falls at the end of the road. So, location is brilliant. We’ve got an amazing concrete driveway, so you’re not going to have any problems in the wet season. The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, and office downstairs. We’ve actually got TV antenna in all bedrooms including downstairs and have phone downstairs in the office or the rumpus room. The electrics have all been done on the house. It is just ready to move into and, of course, surrounded by beautiful, beautiful rainforest. Give me a call, Angela Martin, 0403 788 187, visit the website angelamartin.tv.
