Angela Martin: Hi, am Angela Martin and welcome to number 20 Sanctuary Close in Speewah. There are very, very, very few lifestyle properties where the owners have created on purpose, lovingly, devotingly a lifestyle that is self-sustainable and absolutely adheres to permaculture principles. The people who created and developed this have got all the infrastructure in place, it’s six acres, we’ve got an orchard behind us which we’ll come back and have a look at in a bit more detail. We have a beautiful little two-bedroom, one-bathroom house, we’ve got a three-bay american barn, we’ve got dams, we have got chook pens, we’ve got veggie patches and you go and have a look. You’re just going to love it.

I know that you’re going to fall madly in love with this gorgeous little house with two bedrooms, as we said, and a main bathroom. We’ve just come in patio area, this is a living area, we’ve got a main bedroom there with sliding robes, fabulous little bathroom, great cornerbath and an office, it’s used as an office, but obviously you could use it as a bedroom. One of the brilliant things is we have got wall-to-wall storage up the top. It runs the entire length of the house so you can get infinite there, you don’t have to worry about wet or clogging up the space. Come and have a look at the kitchen. Everyone knows I love kitchens.
Queensland maple, black walnut calorie paint, these are all a lot of the timbers that have been used in the finishing of this house and they’ve all been sourced locally. This is just a beautiful, beautiful bench, we’ve got retractable screens and, of course, we have the most amazing wooden, almost half your wall opens up for those beautiful tropical breezes. This is just a gorgeous, gorgeous kitchen.

You just come through the gate into the veggie patch and I have to say this would have to be one of the biggest vegetable gardens I’ve seen in a very, very long time.
We’ve got banana trees, there’s about three different varieties of banana, beautiful long hanging flowers, we’ve got lime trees, we’ve got kaffir lime trees, we’ve got basil, we’ve got everything that you need. We’ve also got in line drip systems so you don’t have to worry about it when it gets a little bit dry, all your stuff is still going to be yummy.

We’re at the dam and, believe or not, it’s about six meters deep in the middle. Originally, it was stocked with about 200 barramundi and about 2,000 red claw hatchlings. We’ve got no idea how many fish are in their now, but remember that fishing trip that you wanted to go away on of all weekend at easter, you can pack your tent, pop your esky there, hang out your fishing line, and what does that mean for you? Lifestyle plus.

It’s hard to imagine that there are at least 30 different special tropical fruit trees on this property. 30, 35, actually, I think at the last time. They include mangosteen, bananas, kaffir lime, Arabica coffee, just unbelievable, even macadamia trees and, of course, we’ve got beautiful fruiting tree right behind me. I love them.

Just as a bit of a recap, we’re on just over six acres, we’ve got a couple of acres that are clear going the house so that we have that real sense of openness, beautiful free air flow, just delicious. We’ve got our orchard, we’ve got a dam, barramundi in the dam, cute two little bedroom house with a bathroom, we’ve got a solar hot water, we’ve got a three by American garden shed, we’ve got a veggie garden, we’ve have got chook pins, we’ve got duckpins, just everything ready for you to move in to that perfect lifestyle.
