Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin, and welcome to 20 Kuranda Crescent in Kuranda. We all know that a rainforest environment is a fantastic rejuvenator. In this absolutely hectic and modern world, we all secretly crave just a little bit of relaxation, more of an easy lifestyle, and this little gem of a property offers exactly that. It is calm, it’s peaceful, it’s quiet, and we have a very own little special part of the rainforest that we’ll see just as we go in. It’s hard to believe that we’re still only 5, 10-minute walk into Kuranda Village for that morning coffee so let’s go in and have a look. You’re going to love it. Fall in love with it over and over again.
Before we do, don’t forget to press that little subscribe button notification bell so that you can find out a bit more fabulous lifestyle properties just like this one. Let’s go in and have a look.

Angela: Calm, calm, calm, that was the word that I just used at the beginning there. When you come in, it literally just has this overwhelming sense of relaxation. It’s natural light, but we’re in the forest, so all the bright sparklies and everything that makes your eyes go, ooh tight and tense, just goes, ah, it really is a fabulous, fabulous feel so, a little bit of orientation. Open plan living. Very simple, very straightforward. When we came in the entrance hall there, we’ve got a toilet to the side and an office, which we will have a look at. We’ve got a bedroom here. We’ve got a fabulous little nook, gorgeous country kitchen. Then downstairs we’ve got another two bedrooms.
One is the master and has an ensuite, and then the family bathroom and laundry so just look at this. We talk about character and we talk about the feel that has just got so much energy. Absolutely beautiful. I don’t know if you can smell the candles, but they smell absolutely fabulous. Let’s start with the kitchen. Fabulous place to be. We’re going to have a look from the outside just a little bit later because it has got such a beautiful feel. When we came in, that little bit of driveway there, that little bit of concrete courtyard, it opens up into your own little cottage. You could imagine it with your pot plants and your herbs and beautiful sun, and of course, Kuranda Crescent is a leafy, leafy street.
We’ve got these windows. Look at the windows, I think they’re silky oak and they are so filled with character. We’ve got plenty and plenty of space. Gorgeous benches, lovely doors, country-style kitchen, gas cooker, and we’ve got range hood, and of course, little flue goes all the way up into the roof space. Plenty, plenty of space. Drawers, what is not to love. Then we have this seamless and I mean, seamless transition into your relaxation area. What you’re going to notice hopefully is the wood on the floor. It’s probably mixed rainforest hardwood that you can’t even get anymore. It’s all different colors, it’s all different textures, and it goes with a terracotta at the entrance there.
It, oh, could even be blackbutt, silky oak. It’s got everything in there. Again, just adds to the warmth. Dining area here, and we talk about rejuvenation. Oh, my goodness, so that rainforest view, it’s spectacular. Absolutely spectacular. Another little room in here. Could be a bedroom, could be a day bed, could be whatever you want it to be because remember, rooms are rooms but look at those windows. Look at those windows, view, view, view. Unbelievable view.
We’ll just come right here again because I forgot to show you these windows. They are sensational. You just do not find them in modern houses. Just take it all in and we’re going to head out onto that fabulous lifestyle balcony.
[music]
Angela: This absolutely fabulous. Now we’re going to hear a member of the family. Otto is his name and he will continue to say hello to you. Hello, hello, Otto.
Otto: Hello.
Angela: I think that’s about all he can say, but fabulous member of the family, nevertheless, quite happy in his own little environment. This, oh, speechless for words in several kinds. The rainforest feeds the soul. We have access to the most beautiful, beautiful views, walks, trails in very, very, very close proximity to your new property here on Kuranda Crescent but this is priceless. You’re on an about nearly quarter of an acre. It’s about 970 square meters. The house is probably halfway from the road to here. You’ve got maybe another 40 or 50 meters approximately that goes from here to the end so that view is yours. There’s no one going to build there.
The other thing too, if we just pop a little head over and we’ll have a look when we go and have a quick explore, we’ve actually got some dog fencing. It runs from under the house and then up both sides and then across the front. If you have little poochies or little babies you don’t have to worry about them flying away, even walking away or running away. We have just absolutely glorious, and you can also see too these windows. We don’t have normal standard windows. We have those beautiful, great big wooden ones that we pull up and down, character-filled ventilation, and natural light. Then look at these, these are just absolutely brilliant.
Of course, we just open and close our doors.
Otto: Hello.
Angela: Hello, Otto. Look at that. Just brilliant craftsmanship. Love it. Now before we head downstairs, I mentioned that we have a toilet and a little office just at the entrance. We’re going to have a quick look at that, and then we’re going to head downstairs and have a bit of an explore.
[music]
Angela: Oh, little nature’s lovely beehive, gingers. Another little contemplation spot. We are heading downstairs in a minute but look at these windows again. Look, that is absolutely brilliant. It let’s– I’ve said this a hundred times now, it lets the rainforest come in and that is just a brilliant relaxation day bed. Like you need a little area to sit and relax in but that is it. Then another contemplation spot here on a little deck, little balcony currently used the hang up our laundry again undercover, which is brilliant. Oh, look. That is a lady slipper vine. It just looks like little slippers, and that’s why it’s called lady slipper vine. That is just dangling right in front of you, hanging out of your washing.
We did talk about calm and relaxation. Then when we came in at the beginning, this was just little steps down the side of the house, which we’ll have a look at in five minutes. Hang in there, five minutes. Along here, we’ve got the, oops, you see me coming towards you, we’ve got the toilet and the office. I love that courtyard. Just a pretty courtyard. Toilet is big. We’re not going to go overboard with the toilet, but it’s got a lead-light glass window in it. Look, this is what we’re seeing from the outside and it is real lead and it is real glass. Organic wood. This is beautiful. I think it’s probably maple. Doesn’t matter. It’s just lovely. Absolutely lovely. Wash your hands, totally convenient.
Then we’ve got a little office in here. Again, every room has a rainforest view. That’s a fan pan. Doesn’t get any more private than this. It could actually be used as a bedroom. You could probably have a single bed in here. Perfect. As I said, it is used as an office currently. We’re going to head downstairs and explore.
[music]
Angela: I thought you just love these unbelievably fabulous organic spaces. Who on earth would want a boring modern house when you can have charm, love, creativity? I love it. Now, we’re not going to go out there, but there’s another little doggy door or entrance door just down under the steps. Talk about quickie, that you could even just leave open for fresh air. We mentioned we’ve got utility space here. This is a laundry. We’ve got a little bit cupboard space, we’ve got main bathroom, and then we’ve got two other bedrooms. This master is fabulous. Come on and have a look. How private would you like your bedroom to be? The answer probably mostly is always. You feel like you are in the rainforest.
It’s Otto again. We’ve got cypress flooring. Look at this. We’ve got a big broad– That’s about 20 centimeters from there to there. We’ve got nice, big, broad, floorboards. These cupboards are great because you have got plenty of ventilation. I’m not going to open up people’s cupboards, but we’ve got ventilation. On the doors, again, nice wood, organic, and of course, behind us as well. We’ve got just character-filled. Before we look at that, we’re going to have a quick look at the ensuite because that is just breathtakingly spectacular. We’ve got our doors here, open and close. Of course, Angela, they open and close, that’s why they’re called doors.
You can keep them open or you can keep them closed, whatever you want. We’ve got a toilet and we have got our shower and a fabulous vanity. It’s got all the space that you would want. Again, look at this. Just look at that wood. I love wood. Everybody knows I love wood. That might be a little bit of black bean or blackbutt. It might even have been originally from the property here. Who knows? It’s fabulous. Again, little casement windows. Plenty of big shower, plenty of storage, and place for the towels, and of course, our toilet.
Stargazing, moon gazing. This window is at an angle when the house was designed and it was built so that when you lie in your bed, I’m not going to lie on the bed, but when you do lie on your bed, you can actually see straight up into the stars, or the moon, or the clouds, or whatever it is at whatever time of day. That is unbelievable. Of course, we’ve got louver windows there as well for ventilation. You look out there and it’s private. You come out here and it’s private. Who wouldn’t want to awaken up in the morning? Doesn’t matter what your mood of the day is, and it should always be jolly and skipping, and happy because it should just be jolly, and skipping, and happy when you’ve got that. Look at this.
This is a little bit of fence here for the little poochies or little dogs or children just here. This goes over there. Look, same as upstairs. Only you could roll out a bed, lie in bed, read, and you’ve got this on your doorstep. This is priceless. Money cannot buy that. Doesn’t matter how much you’ve got in the bank or how much you’ve got under your mattress. That is just sensational. Of course, we’ve got the sparkle of the sun coming through. We are in the wet tropics, so everything is lush and everything is green. Just beautiful. Before we go through next door, just want to head up here. We can see that was a little nook and this is the steps coming down the side of the house, and that’s part little fence.
Another bedroom here. Let’s go this way. I just want us to come back in and have a look at that. That’s brilliant. I love that. You can see again, the natural light, but the calmness. You’ve got tropical white, we’ve got wood, and we’ve got green rainforest. Look, what a pretty, pretty room? Again, they are rooms. I’ve said that I don’t know how many times now. It’s because you can have them for bedrooms, you can have them for art studios, you could have them for pottery, you could have them for a guest. They are just spaces and they can be created for whatever you want in your life. Again, we’ve got little lead light bits up in here on those windows and those doors.
Actually, come around here. We’ll just have a peek out there and then we’ll go back up and have a look at the bathroom before we go back upstairs. We’ve got little steps that come down here. This is the bathroom just here. We’ll just pop a little head there and we will come down those other steps. We’ve got the two bedrooms. We’ve got a living room, got a bathroom here, fencing here, a little bit of space under the house. Let’s go in and have a look at that bathroom.
[music]
Angela: Of course, we’ve got the same little character-filled doors as wardrobes, but even little different layers, steps, levels. Just feels right. Laundry, laundry, laundry, and then just a really lovely sparkly bathroom. We got a bath, we got a shower. This was the little outside bit that we seen when we looked up the steps. More lovely wood. We’ve got plenty of space under here, we’ve got a Rheem hot water in here, and we’ve got another couple of cupboards just behind for towels, and linen, and all the little bits and bobs that you would need. Oh, look at this. Look. Seeing it from this angle at different times of day is absolutely brilliant.
We’re going to head back upstairs, we’re going to go back out onto the courtyard, and then we’re just going to do a gentle walk down both sides so that you can see everything there is to see about the property. Then we’re going to do a bit of a quick wrap-up.
[music]
Angela: This is such a livable easy house. I wanted us to come back out here because when we came in at the beginning, it was just a quick straight through but we have got plenty of space here. This is a great courtyard. These gates are open. These gates open. You could either– You don’t have to bring your cars in here if you wanted to, or you could just make it another relaxation spot. Not that you need it again, but it’s a space that’s flexible. We’ve got a little garden shed up over here and then we have got little path down here. Now we have got gingers and at this time of the year, everything grows. You put a stick in the ground and it will grow. We’re probably not going to go down here. Let’s move this little ginger. There we go. We were on the bottom deck and we came down the stairs and we looked up and you can see a little bit of the fence just there and then on this side– Love that. Look at that. This great little entrance. Then on this side, we’ll actually go down a little bit. These stairs are nice and easy to walk. Look at that beautiful umbrella tree. This is a great thing, we can actually see under the house. It’s easy. Well, relatively easy. You see, we’ve got blockwork just here. We’ve got a little bit of tin here. There’s spaces, there’s plenty of spaces and that was the lead light window. We couldn’t see that when we were in the bathroom. That’s just above the toilet. This is the septic tank. Look at this.
Remember I said everything grows. That’s just because it’s growing a little bit horizontally and we’re starting to get roots on it. Fantastic. Absolutely beautiful. Lunar window. I have to show you the lunar window just there. Absolutely brilliant. Of course, that’s the fence that goes across the back to both balconies, it goes up the side and then it goes up the other side as well and it joins at the front. Absolutely sensational. Again, we’ve got the best of all of worlds. We’ve got bright sparkles and the most amazing rainforest.
[music]
Angela: Absolutely just in awe of those windows. They are just unbelievably sensational. Hello, Otto. I really hope you’ve enjoyed this wonderful little baby tour of number 20 Kuranda Crescent in Kuranda and we’re going to do a big wrap-up because we’ve seen it all, we’ve touched it, we’ve felt it and hopefully, you’ll agree that this is just fabulous as I said at the beginning and halfway through and now I’m often not lost for words, but there are sometimes just properties where your heart rate just drops. You just instantly feel, I could live here. This is priceless and we are so close to Kuranda Village.
It’s character-filled. We’ve got wood, we’ve got organics, we’ve got sun, we’ve got shade, we’ve got green, we’ve got that rejuvenation of the rain forest and we can walk for a morning latte into Kuranda Village, or we can go there for a shopping when there’s an IGA. We have got a post office, we got everything that you would need and, of course, for easy commutes down into Smithfield, where you’ve got your Woollies and your Bunnings and everything again and super if you need to get into Cairns, very short drive and of course, we have got the world-famous Barron Falls within a 5, 10-minute walk from your property, nearly a quarter of an acre.
It just sparkles and I wonder if Otto can say goodbye. I don’t think so. Give me a call, Angela Martin 040-378-8187, visit the website, angelamartin.tv. Breathe this in.
