Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin, and welcome to number 2 Forest Close in Kuranda. This property is an absolute stand out. We’ve got two dwellings on it. A main house and a completely self-contained studio, granny flat. They’ve both been beautifully renovated. We’ve got a garage and a carport big enough for four cars, and we have three luxurious acres of land and a permanent creek. You’re seriously going to fall in love with this property. Let’s go and have a look.

This garden is filled with the most amazing exotic plants as you’ll see when we actually go into the garden but even that is fabulous. Come on through, beautiful red cordyline, gorgeous cactus. We’ll just do little bit of orientation. We’ve just come into the main breezeway that actually separates the two dwellings. We’ve got the main house on this side, and then we’ve got these self-contained granny flat there. Hopefully, you can see they’re completely separate, so privacy noise is just not an issue. Then we’ve got beautiful little features like herbs, water, fish. It’s just such a really gorgeous entrance. We’re going to start with the main house. Let’s go in and have a look.

Do you just love this red door? My number one favorite color and it just gives a big vibrancy to the whole of the property. The other thing you’ll have noticed is stunning parrot wallpaper on one of these walls, that’s one of the living areas used as an office, but again, you don’t see that in very many houses these days. Come on through, living-dining, fabulous kitchen. You hear a cockatoo out the back so that will probably go all the time that we’re here, but that does not come with a property, it’s actually in a cage.
Again, just little bit of orientation, we’ve got a bedroom with two bedrooms at the other ends so three bedrooms in total. We have a main bathroom, an absolutely oversized laundry with a separate toilet, and a patio that runs all the way along the back, beautiful shade. The gardens are actually 50% rain forest and about 50% open and sunny so the best of both worlds. We’re going to have a look at that kitchen.

This is an amazing kitchen. It’s pretty much brand-new and this is actually laminate. [bird chirping] We’re going to hear that bird, you’re going to see that bird in a cage in just a minute. This is wood look and it feels fabulous, it’s got little bits in it, it actually feels like wood but it’s not. Beautiful splash back. It’s got a $600 tap from what I can gather and beautiful cooking, walk-in pantry, plenty of space in there, and of course big enough for a double fridge. Let’s have a look at the bedrooms in half a minute. I just wanted to make note, storage in this house is huge. We’ve got an absolutely bigger than average laundry. We’ve got a real big glory cupboard in there for all your uglies, wash and stuff. Separate toilet in here and then that’s another door where that goes through into the breezeway that takes us over on to the granny flat. Go have a look at the bedrooms and then we’ll all head over.

I love those seamless shower screens, they just make everything much cleaner and easier to clean, more importantly. Again, just little attentions to detail in the main bathroom; we’ve real marble bench top, great bath, beautiful accessories black and, of course, we’ve got, they’re like Italian, Moroccany, just real nice mosaic style tiles. Again, the red door, the black and white, it really just gives it a, “Wow, fantastic,” and, of course, we’ve got high ceilings throughout the house, rendered blocks so super strong, but in the bathroom it makes it even higher feeling because we got the white tiles, fully tiled room, and it’s reflecting all the light. Real nice luxury space.

No tropical house would be complete– Love these flyscreen Crimsafe doors around the house and the granny flat, except for the back bedroom. No tropical house would be complete without a wonderful outdoor living area. This is slate. We’ve got gorgeous sitting comfy chairs. Again, you can see that we’ve actually got the extra height, but again just– We’ve got that cockatiel or cockatoo in the background there, which will– In fact, just have a quick look so we can see who’s making all the noise. There he is, happy as. Then, of course, we’ve got the garden. We’ll do a quick look at the garden, and we’ll actually go into the garden in a couple of minutes. Have a quick look and then we’re going to head back through the laundry, and we’re going to go over to the granny flat.

This is another entrance that is right next to the garage and the carport. You can come in the breezeway and you could also come in here, up these glorious back steps into your patio area and the main house.

Welcome to the granny flat. Now, we have– You probably noticed that when you came in this little gorgeous bamboo gate and it just got, “Please close the gate.” Again, it’s just an extra way of separating the two living areas, but you are going to love this. Come on through. How’s this for a little granny flat entrance? If you actually have a look here, you can sit and relax and you’re looking out into garden. This decked area actually separates the two wings. We got the main bedroom and bathroom, and over here, we’ve got the kitchen and the living. You can come in front door, you can come in side door, you can come in the breezeway, or you can walk all the way around to the other side of the breezeway. Plenty of access. It’s also got solar hot water, which actually feeds both of the houses so it’s amazing. Again, beautifully, beautifully decorated. The property is actually has been set up for Airbnb, about $130 a night. I hope your little ears are starting to pick up here. Also for medium and long term rental, roughly about $280, $285 a week. Extended family and friends or a little bit of extra money in the pocket, this has been set up just brilliantly for it.
Let’s go and have a look at that bathroom. Again, brand-new, modern, almost like a resort.

[pause 00:10:42-00:10:58]
We’ve also got a roll-down shade blind if you want just privacy, you want everything to be closed off. Here we are. Again, you’ll notice those flyscreen doors [clears throat] that, again, you can just lock and you can leave. You’ve always got plenty of ventilation. Low maintenance, polished concrete floor. Again, beautiful wooden bench top. You’ve got a potential there for a washing machine so laundry is included. Bigger kitchen as you’ll find in any house. Again, that is the actual entrance or probably the main entrance that you would use that takes us to the top of the driveway. You’ve got your own car park, and then there’s double gates at the other side as well, so you can drive right there. Again, you can come in whatever you want.
Income potential, family and friends, guests, moms and dads, this is brilliant.

Just love it. We’re going to have a look around the gardens. We looked at the side entrance from the patio area, but no, we’re actually going to go round there and have a bit of a wander and a bit of a look. Four car garage, two garage and two in the carport. It’s fully insulated and it is vermin proof. There are also power points everywhere on the house. Again, storage, power points, insulation in your garage. It’s just brilliant.
Come on through here. This takes us back up into the back patio. The area around the house, if you like, is actually fully fenced. If you have dogs or you have children, then they can just run amok.
We’re going to get down there because that’s where the creek is. I just wanted to show you this. It’s special, so, so special. Absolutely gorgeous pond and little mosaic stones in there, and of course you’ll find garden art everywhere. It is just the most amazing feel. I know I can go on about feel, but this is just beautiful. It’s like something out of a tropical resort. Just take 10 seconds and have a look.

[pause 00:13:56-00:14:19]
We’ve got beautiful bougainvillea too. That’s just gorgeous. It’s pink and variegated, lovely. Again, family and friends, hot summers night, even a cool winter, we’ve got a fire pit and a brilliant– I love these gabion walls. Again, just absolutely organic. Of course, I mentioned before, we have got pretty much half rainforest, which if we just do a little bit of a turn around here, you’ve got a beautiful rainforest backdrop. Then if we have a little look here, we have got open and sunny part of the garden. That’s the breezeway. That’s the main house. That’s the granny flat. Then we’ll do a quick look over here at the veggies, have a quick look at the creek, and then we’ll do a wrap-up. That’s what I call a luxury veggie garden bed. I think this is, yum, dill, I think. Fennel growing there. All beautifully stoned. Hello. Hello. We’ve actually got, can you believe this? A wallaby. We’ll actually go this way so as not to frighten them. Again, we have got garden art. Hello. More garden art. We have got pens for chickens, for ducks, for anything you want to put in them, but we actually have got pens everywhere.
Of course, again, as I said, it’s fully fenced just so the little animals can’t get out. Again, I just love little practical things like this where we have got water and a recycled barbeque base where we can actually wash our hands or feed the animals. Just brilliant. Let’s have a quick look at that creek.
[music]
[pause 00:16:23-00:16:48]
We’ve still got that gorgeous little wallaby following us through here. This takes us down to the creek. We’re actually not going to go all the way down because the path needs to be a little bit cleared, but we can certainly have a look at where it is. Look at this, brilliant, we’ve got another little sanctuary for animals. Again, you could put birds, parrots. It’s all got little mesh up and down. For the animal lover, it is just– I was going to say it’s just perfect, it’s actually more than perfect. There’s no amount of– Different things that you could actually do with all these brilliant spaces.
Just love it. Just love it. Always remember to lock up after you. These are amazing trees. Look at the size of them. This is coming into the rainforest part of the property now. If we look up, gorgeous canopy. The path, as I said, actually does go all the way down to the creek. We’ll do a little bit turn around, and we’ll just head down that direction.
[music]
[pause 00:18:12-00:18:37]
I said I wasn’t going to come down and show you, but I just couldn’t help myself because it is just such a special spot. Hopefully, you can hear that it is a permanent creek. There is water flowing. There’s just something absolutely magical about being in the rainforest with all these gorgeous fan palms above us and a big pool of trickling water. You could probably jump in there on the hottest of days and you would think that you have just gone to heaven.

[pause 00:19:13-00:19:30]
I really hope you’ve enjoyed this tour of number 2 Forest Close in Kuranda. Hopefully, you can see that it just– You come in that front gate, that front entrance driveway, and you have got no idea what fabulous tropical oasis is hidden behind closed door as they say. We’ve got three brilliant luxurious acres, half sunny, which you can see it’s pretty sunny out here in the garden. We can hear the birds. Then, of course, we’ve got all the other natural rainforest, but the key is the two dwellings. Solid rendered block, low maintenance houses, income potential, solar hot water, garage that you can get four cars in or two for your garage and two for your carport, fence around the house area, and brilliant mobile reception.
