Angela Martin: I am Angela Martin and welcome to 18 GreenHills Road in Kuranda. You’re going to love this three bedroom, two bathroom, completely renovated gorgeous little house on 1.2 acres. Fantastic location, let’s go in and have a look. You’re going to fall in love with this house.

Welcome, come on through. I did say this was an absolutely stunningly renovated cute house. You come into the main door and this is clearly a very big, large, spacious and bright living area. As I said, we’ve got three bedrooms. A little bit of orientation, when you come in the main door, we’ve got a bedroom on this side and we’ve got a bathroom. This is the main living area.
We’ve got a bedroom up over here. We’ve got a kitchen which we’ll go to in just a second here, and then we’ve got the master with an ensuite just at that section there. Let’s come through and have a look at the kitchen. It really is an entertainer’s delight, and when you have a little look through, we’ll see sky lights and gorgeous little pendulous lights. It’s just lovely come on through.
All the doors open up into the balcony which means that if you got people around, it’s easy to entertain and we’ve got stone bench tops. We have got a brand new cooker, standalone cooker, it’s gas, it’s electric, it’s just delightful.

I love all little extra bits that make the house once it’s completely renovated. It feels cosmopolitan, it feels modern, it feels fresh, but little things like bubble glass on the doors just gives it that sort of cottagey feel as well. At the other end of the kitchen is what would have been the original laundry, but it is big enough that you could actually use it for either a butler’s kitchen or of course just a laundry. Again, it’s a really big, bright space.
We’ve got a door that opens onto the balcony. You can get in and out easily and there’s room for your washing machine and your dryer, but beautiful big ceramic sink, again, really, really huge amounts of bench top space, huge amounts of cabinet space, and you could put all sorts of things in here. It really is fabulously functional, and again, we got one of those other little gorgeous glass doors just there. Entertainment plus, we’ve just come out of the kitchen and the butler’s pantry or laundry, again, huge, great, big living area, but look at this, it’s all under cover one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, a table big enough for ten people. This is a really, really comfy space, but again, it’s out of the weather.
We’ve got a deck out here, and of course, it does rain in the wet tropics. As you can see, we’ve got a beautiful sparkly rain shower this morning and we have 1.2 acres of private, beautifully landscaped tropical garden. It really is just beautiful.

Isn’t that entertainment area just stunning? Let’s have a quick look at the bedrooms now, and one of the things you’ll notice as you look at all of the bedrooms is the size. The light, they’re are super bright. They all open up onto balconies. We’ve got balconies pretty much all the way around the house, and they’re air conditioned, and when you are in the hot tropics, air conditioning is wonderful.
The main living area here too has a very big air conditioner in it, but the size of the bedrooms, the two on this side, are about, believe it or not, six meters long and the master here is about a five by four and it does have the ensuite on this side. Go have a little wonder, you’re just going to love the size and feel of each of these bedrooms.

I did say that those bedrooms were big. Before we head outside into the garden, let’s have a look at the main bathroom. It’s got a shower, I love the great big shower into a bath. The bath just runs along that way, but heaps and heaps of space and again, beautifully tiled and renovated.

I mentioned that we’ve got balconies all the way around the home and it’s little things like curved decks or little bits of steps where things are not necessarily all geometric and adds to that really comfy lived-in feel. The gardens are beautiful. Let’s come down this way, we have– It’s a sort of gazebo, but I call it a little fairy princess tent. You could just imagine little fairy lights at night. This is a little deck, but it’s got passion fruit, these are just absolutely beautiful. We’ve got these gorgeous lights and curtains and I could just imagine sitting here with a book, oh, my goodness, on the warmest of days and it would just be to die for. Life truly does not get any better than this.

The plants. Well, we have got Frangipani, we’ve got some Bougainvillea behind us. I got another of those passion fruits, but here we go, passion fruit, absolutely just beautiful. Red Cordyline, we’ve got these great gorgeous little pink flowers that are coming out at this time of the year. Little Justicia brandegeeana, is called little shrimp plant, looks like little bumble bees. The whole garden is just filled with beautiful tropical plants. If we come down here, we can see this is the open area, and again, we can look up to the house and we have these pagoda plants that are in the back. They really are just absolutely stunning.
I really hope you have enjoyed this wonderful, wonderful tour of number 18 GreenHills Road in Kuranda. I do not normally indulge in my client’s fixtures and fittings, but I have to say, this property is calm. It drags you in, it makes you want to just sit back and relax. The colors are calm. The high ceilings in the living room make it calm. The neutral colors on the walls make it calm. It’s got calmness in the kitchen. We’ve got a beautiful deck out there that, again, it’s just calm.
If you want a place to relax, somewhere where you can just come home at the end of the day and not do too much, this is the place for you. We have 3.5 KVA solar which I did mention in the beginning. We have got bench tops in the kitchen that look so much like stone you’d think they were stone. We’ve got balconies all the way around. We’ve got about 1.2 acres of really lovely tropical gardens.
