Angela Martin: Hi. I’m Angela Martin. Welcome to number 18 Butler Drive in Kuranda. If you’re looking for a low maintenance house on a fantastic part of the top-of-the-range estate, something that’s got flexibility for a large family or even a small family and even income potential, then you are going to love what you see inside, is a great entertainers delight and we’re going to go in, we’re going to have a look.

Come on into this lovely entertainer delight of a home. Now, we’re in the kitchen and we’ll do a little bit of orientation, but before we do that, the actual property is on about 4,300 square meters. That’s just about an acre and a quarter and the house was built by Matt La Spina. He was a really well-known builder years ago that built low-maintenance but really super duper quality homes and of course this is one of them. Anyway, let’s come in to have the kitchen. We’ve got main central living area which is absolutely fabulous. Heaps and heaps and heaps of space. Over this side, we’ve got two bedrooms and a bathroom and a toilet. Over this side of the house, we’ve actually got an office nook or a butler’s kitchen, whatever you want to use it for, and it goes round into double lock up- excuse me, garage. One of the key things which I’m really excited about is the entertaining area out the back here. Now, we’ve got a separate wing that’s got two bedrooms, another walk-in robe and the master. We’ve got a bathroom and a separate toilet, but that’s the key and not going to get too excited at the moment, but we will have a look about it. The kitchen, we’ve got induction cooktop, fantastic granite bench top and, as you can see, beautiful wooden benches and tiled floor is just fantastic for entertaining and of course a straight out into the area. Let’s go have a look over the side and then we’ll head outside.

This is the magic entertaining area that we spoke about at the beginning. Each of the three ways that you can come out onto the back patio is good sliding doors. The office nook and the kitchen and the dining area, all come out onto this magical, magical spot. We’ll have a look at that in a minute, but in the meantime, we’ve got the the second wing. Before we get to the second wing, we’ve got a laundry and a separate toilet or the toilet is inside the laundry just off to the side here. Income potential, artist’s retreat, guests friends, this really is a super duper flexibility because we’ve got two bedrooms master that’s up that end. We have got a walk-in robe, we’ve got a bathroom, and we’ve got a toilet. Before we have a little looking through here, let’s go and have a look.

Come on into this fantastic area for entertaining. Now, this is a really big pool. It’s actually got solar heating in it too so that you can swim in it all year round, but what I love and I mean really love about this whole area here is the fact that when it’s hot, when it’s wet, in the wet season, you can be undercover, you can be enjoying just paddling and put your little tootsies in there. You can wave to people who are sitting reading, we can have, I don’t know, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight or ten people here comfortably enjoying a barbecue. We have absolutely lovely rain forest setting in the background. This is all beautifully decked.
We’ve got some lovely gardens, and when it does get a little bit chilly, we’ve got a comfy little fire pit. Now, this has actually probably just been used. Again, you can imagine enjoying having a beer sit and relaxing, chilly night and watching the stars up through those fan palms. For those men in the family who just love to entertain, we’ve got this cute little bar. This actually looks like it’s come out of an aircraft, very much it looks like it’s come out from an aircraft, but it just adds to the whole character and the feeling of this lifestyle area. If we could, I’d jump in that pool right now because it is pretty hot.

How is this for a secret garden? We’ve come from that brilliant entertaining area down into, and of course, we do live in the rain forest. It’s magical, it is absolutely magical. We’ve gone from 30 degrees, we instantly feel like it’s about three or four degrees cooler here. You could just, again, relax, you could build a little baby garden or you could just come for a walk. Look at the size of these trees and, again, the fan palms, they are slow to grow that they would have to be- couldn’t even hazard a guess, but they are years and years and years and years and years old, and it just adds to the gorgeous tropical feel of this particular part of the garden. It really is stunning.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed this wonderful tour of number 18 Butler Drive in Kuranda. If you can just bear with me, we’ll do a little bit of a recap. Behind us, we’ve got the main part of the house which has got the two bedrooms up this and it’s got a bathroom and a separate toilet and then we’ve got that fabulous kitchen living and dining area. Then over this side, we’ve got the office nook that leads us through into the double lock up garage, and then through the breezeway, we have got the laundry with a separate toilet. Now, we spoke about the flexibility on this particular wing. We’ve got the the main master bedroom, we’ve got the walk-in robe, then we’ve got a separate bathroom, we’ve got a separate toilet, and on the far corner, we have got another bedroom. You can get a sense of just how much opportunity you would have if you were to live and own this wonderful piece of paradise, but the pièce de résistance, of course, is the entertaining area. Brilliant pool, solar heated.
We’ve got great decking, we’ve got a fire pit, we’ve got a gazebo and the property has actually got fencing, chain fencing on three sides. If you do have animals, it just makes it much easier for them to be kept in, and we’ve got a garden shed, a 6×5 meter garden shed.
