Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin, and welcome to Number 11 Whipbird Close in Speewah, an absolutely fabulous address. When we have been searching for that perfect lifestyle property, we always have a little checkboxes or a little list of things that are going to feed the soul and give us all our hopes and all our dreams. Hopefully, this is going to have a couple of extra things on your little tickbox. Now, ultimate privacy, this property is ultimately, and I mean ultimately private. Maybe you would like a house that’s just gorgeous.
Also, if it’s maybe low maintenance and brand new and sparkly and beautiful, that would be okay too, and of course, a tropical swimming pool that, again, is private. All of this plus a shed, this property has this and more. Whipbird Close is a no-through road and Number 11 is at the very end. Look at this, all of this at the very end of a no-through road. Hopefully, hopefully, hopefully, there’s quite a few of those little boxes that have been ticked.
Let’s go in and have a look, but before we do– Oh, and did I also say it’s on five acres? Oh my goodness. How fabulous is this? Wow. Did you see the door? Probably didn’t because it was open, but we have got one of those beautiful big modern doors that let in all the light. Now, [chuckles] we talk about our hopes and our dreams, and I have to say this would be one of my hopes and one of my dreams to be able to come into a house where you literally just unpack everything that you own and just put your feet under the table, or jump into the pool and relax. It is just seriously, seriously beautiful. We’re going to do a bit of a quick walk-through on the living areas, and then as normal, we’ll have a look out into the gardens.
Now, kitchen, look at the length of that bench. Entertaining. If that’s what you love, this would be absolutely perfect. I’m not quite sure how long this is, but here’s my hand span from here to here. We’ve got that plus the same on the other side. Lovely big stainless steel double sink and all the soft clothes, drawers, and plenty, and I mean plenty of cupboards. This induction cooktop, plenty of space for double fridge. Yes, big double fridge, plenty of space, but look in here. Now, I have to say we have a little bird that lives in a cage out there so if you hear some things caulking in the background, that’s what it is. We’ll meet them maybe in a minute or so. Stainless steel dishwasher.
Plenty of space for cupboards here. I’ll just go here as well, show you one of these. Shouldn’t open people’s cupboards, but I will. Soft drawers. Look at that. Absolutely brilliant. Now, on top of all of this brilliant amount of space, we’ve got lovely microwave and electric oven. Then we’ve got this butler’s pantry. Love the space in here. Now, don’t look at what people eat, doesn’t matter, but look at the functionality. We have got lots of ventilation. You see all that lovely natural sunlight coming in there, all screened. Actually, the whole house is screened, but this is absolutely brilliant. All the space that you would ever need if you were entertaining.
What I think is really brilliant, you’re here, you’re chopping away, you’re doing what you do, and you could be sitting watching the telly, or you could be out here just relaxing, again, preparing for whoever’s sitting out there. Could even just be yourself in the morning chopping up your little brekkie, and it’s all part of it. It’s the lifestyle that you need and it’s the lifestyle that you want. Dining area, plenty of space. We’ll go in here in a minute. We’ve got four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Great big double garage, but look at this. Have to show you. Aluminum doors that can– Whoa, beautiful.
I’m not going to open them all up, but they close them all up, I should say. They come in and obviously come up to here. Then we’ve also got an addition to that. Hello, little birdie. Fully screened. You can go away on holiday, you can leave for the day, you could actually leave everything open, but you could lock up your fly screens and not even think about it. Not even worry about it. We’re not going to go out there just this very minute. We’re going to keep that for another two minutes. We’re going to have a quick look at the bedrooms and the bathrooms, and also a quick little stickybeak, that’s an Australian term, into that garage.

Now we’re going to start with such a simple little teeny thing. When we live in the wet tropics, being able to drive your car in and get out of the rain into your kitchen with your bags of groceries, it seems like such a simple request, but so many properties don’t have that luxury, if you like. In here, when we drive in that beautiful driveway, concrete, you did notice we have concrete, a best friend in the wet tropics. We actually have a little button on here on the wall. Opens up a door so that when we come in, when we come home, we just press the button, up we go. Look at your view from your garage. Absolutely stellar. Going to just press that. There we go. Off we go.
I’m just going to leave that. That’s all we can see. Bedroom, office number one. Very gorgeous, very simple, very straightforward, very clean, very fresh, very modern, and we’ve all got views out to the garden. We’ve got built-in robs that have mirrors on them. All the bedrooms have got mirrors with built-in robes. I’m excited about us going out here, but you just have to just hold your breath for maybe another five minutes. Who knows where we might end up? Big sitting area here. Big television.
Oh. I know it’s hard to believe that in a far North Queensland tropical world heritage area we would possibly use a wood-burning stove, but in the winter, it’s all relative. We do get a little bit chilly and it’s fabulous. You put your little flannelettes on and your little feet up, and it just is so romantic. Now, we’ve got a big hallway. We’ve got bedroom, toilet, bathroom, and then behind us, we’ve got another two bedrooms plus a laundry and a cupboard. Spare bedroom, main bedroom, guest bedroom, art room, office. Remember they’re just rooms, you can make them whatever you want, but again, they are all screened and slidey little cupboard doors. Then we’ve got family bathroom and toilet, separate toilet.
This is magic. I know it’s only a family bathroom but look at this. Look at this. We can actually just stand in under here. We’ve got lovely black fittings. We’ve got a little spot in here. Come and put your head in because I know that you want to see everything. We’ve actually got a little shelf where you put your shampoo. Splish, splish, splish. Flyscreen, but again, no glass. You can take clothes off, you can put your clothes on, you can dry yourself with lovely fluffy towels, and you just feel exhilarated. Beautiful vanity as you would expect from a very modern house. Now we’re going to head back up the hallway and look at those other two rooms.

I love the sense of air and of space. Now, this is just glorious. I know that you can’t feel what I’m feeling. The peace and the quiet is quite deafening actually. We did talk about privacy, but because we’re at the end of a no-through road, at the very end of the no-through road, the birds, you’re just going to hear birds hence Whipbird Close, and you probably hear birds in the background going, “Bing, bing, bing.” It’s just an absolute joy. Again, we’ve got a built-in robes. As I mentioned, all the bedrooms have them. Before we head into the master, brilliant laundry. Brilliant.
Again, as you would expect, we’ve got fabulous– It’s not a vanity, but your little work area where you can fold all your clothes or you can fold your towels, or maybe you don’t do either, in which case, they go straight into your master bedroom. Plenty of space for a tumble dryer and a washing machine and out to– We’ll see this when we go out. We’ll actually have a walk around, but again, just beautiful, private, and beautiful. Laundry cupboard in here. It’s just a little cupboard. Just pop your head around. Oh, I shouldn’t do. I’m so sorry, but you can put your ironing board and your little bits and your bobs. Do people have bits and bobs? I’m sure they do, or your little bits and pieces in that tall broom cupboard.
Another fabulous cupboard in here. Again, we’ve got plenty of shelf. Everything is open-air, brand-spanking, new feel, and modern, so you’re literally going to build it when you move in. Look at this. This is like a fairy princess bedroom. I love the color. Now, the pink color bedspread does not come with the property, but it just goes to show the beautiful romantic natural neutral feel in this room. I love this. This is just fabulous. It just gives it that extra je ne sais quoi. It’s a French word for something else, I think, but just again, all the little attention to detail.
Then behind us, we have our walk-in robe. This is a big room. Floor plans are there. You can have a look, but this is a big room because that’s a big dresser and I’m on the little person and I’m wobbling around here. That’s the bird. Lots of space. Nice lights. The other thing you would have noticed, internal doors. Look at that. That’s just magic. Absolutely magic. We don’t have to worry about taking up valuable wall space where the door is open and close, and the ensuite is the same. It is brilliant. I can’t believe just how– It’s the little things. It really is just the little things. This is a joyous room.
We have, again, a view out to the swimming pool. It’s a big area. Look at that vanity. It’s a lovely, just really lovely, great big mirror where you can check your lippy and a double shower. Look at the space. A little bit of splash resistance here. Not that you need it because it is all beautifully, fully tiled, but I just love these recesses. We had that in the other bathroom too where it’s just easy. You don’t have to bend down. Oh, more lovely fluffy towels. We’re going to head back out through there and I’m going to meet you at that fabulous entertainment area.

Isn’t this beyond description? A lovely, yummy, gorgeousness. Barbecue area over here, so again, if we’re sitting or we’re cooking or we’re entertaining or we’re just relaxing or all of that, super easy access. Now, we have got really lovely– These are permanent louvers, but they just let a lot of the natural light come through and air and flow. Of course, if we’re at a barbie, it doesn’t really matter. We’re in the open air so we don’t need ventilation, but that is such a functional space, almost like an additional outdoor kitchen.
Look at these doors. I know we looked at them before, but they’re a bit monumentous. They are such a big feature open indoor, but when you think about it, this whole area, you really have to think of as your living room. They really are just screens that potentially keep out the wind or the rain. Not that you’re going to get rain under here. Swimming pool. Yes, I can hear you. We want to say hello. I’m not going to put my little finger in here. Likes attention, but that’s okay. We all like a little bit of attention now and again.
After you or maybe after me. Come on in. Look at this. Where are you in the world at this point in time? It’s maybe freezing cold and chilly, and it could actually even just be in Australia, not far North Queensland. Don’t need to rub it in, but this is the winter. We have amazing blue sky. We have rainforest. We have tropicalnessness. You just get a stick and you put it in the ground, and in 12 months’ time, you will have a beautiful tropical plant. This is just glorious.
Look at that. Look. These are just about to have, little flowers on them. I think they’re called cigar palms. I’m not 100% sure, but they just add to the really gorgeous feel. If we’re in here, I’m just going to– I’m not allowed to jump in. Oh, wow. Yes, I can hear you. Can you just imagine in the warmest of warmest days jumping in there sitting, swimming, and you’re just so close to that fabulous outdoor entertainment area?
Come along this way so you get to see from here. We’ve got all the little sparkly lights. Now, can you imagine at night time what that might actually look like? I think it would look fabulous. Just literally like a fairy princess area. It’s very bright today. This is where we came in with the driveway. That’s a shed, that’s a kitchen, that’s a barbie area, and of course, that’s a living area. My goodness, [laughs] what is not to love? We are going to do a quick walk around the gardens and obviously have a look at that beautifully fabulous man shed.

The silence is absolutely deafening apart from our gorgeous little furry friends. Now, we’re going to actually take a bit of a quick wander around the house, but before we do, I just want you to put your head through here where we have a totally fenced area. The fence all the way around to the side gate so that if you have got children or dogs or little animals or whatever you don’t want disappearing, then you can be relaxing, reading, cooking, doing whatever you want, and you don’t have to worry about it. Beautiful open and sunny. We’re going to walk around the house. Look at that rainforest as we go. Oh, and I’m not going to go on about it, but that’s real. That is a beautiful Heliconia. My goodness.
Let’s come down here and, again, just want to do a quick walk around the house. Oh, look at the passion fruit. We have got all this gorgeous glorious passion fruit. Now, up here, there’s not an awful lot to see other than your little imagination. This was cleared many years ago with the intention of putting a little granny flat or a studio up here. It’s got some trees growing in it again, but if you have a look– Oh, gosh, beautiful, bright, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful sparkly day. Those trees could be easily removed if you have a look in relation to the rest of the rainforest. Super easy, beautiful pad all ready to go.
Look at this. Oh my goodness. Trumpet vine. Just glorious. We are so spoiled. This is just gorgeous. Trumpet vine and of course passion fruit. Fenced area here that we looked at. Hanging up area here for all your washing. Then just have a look down here at the side of the house. What a joy. Come out my laundry, got my washing basket, popping it here, and you’re in the most amazing part of the world, truly amazing part of the world. The retaining wall there just adds really lovely stuff to the garden. What’s not to love? I’m just going to meet you at the other end and we are going to have a look at that shed, I promise.

We did eventually end up at the shed. We’re going to go in the side door, but I just wanted to make note that we’ve also got another great big area, flat, usable, gorgeous green grass because we’ve had some rain on the other side of the shed. The shed’s about 6 meters by 12 meters, so it is big. Now, it’s filled with stuff. Remember, people’s stuff when they’re moving, when they’re downsizing, when they’re putting stuff away will just be filled with your stuff when you actually arrive and when you come in. It’s massive and it’s all color bond and it’s got power. Oh, there we go. It’s concreted.
Come in. [chuckles] What is important is that you can see how big it is. That’s our big roller doors that I’m not again going to worry about trying to open up for us, but you can see we’ve got power. The walls are about three meters high, and I think from memory the roller door is about 2.7 so big enough, as you can see, to get in a motorhome. Plenty of space there. Like I said, you’re not going to put your tires down or chop off the top, but this has still got plenty of room for a car, it’s still got plenty of room for your little work shed, and all the things that make you happy. This is just an absolutely joyous shed.
We’re going to head out. I’m going to have a look at that beautiful little lily pond, and then we’re going to do a wrap-up. That is just such a brilliant shed and just so easy access to the house. Just brilliant. Now, the lily pond, oh my goodness, you could put guppy fish in here. You could put anything you want in there, including lilies. That’s why it’s called a lily pond. Look at this, little table and chairs. Just sit dangling your feet, put a little boat in there if you’ve got kids. That is just absolute joy, and of course, we have got this magnificent rainforest as a backdrop.
Again, I’m going to stop, listen, not even a single thing. Nothing, bird wings, butterfly wings. In fact, it is so quiet, probably they’d be scared to make a noise, you wouldn’t hear anything, so why would you buy this property? Oh my goodness. Specialness is a really big word that comes into place in my head, uniqueness, and we mentioned about all the joy and all the hopes and the dreams.
This property really, really offers all those ticks in the boxes. It was built around about 2018 and it’s a block house, so when we talked away at the beginning about low maintenance, it truly is sparkly and modern and fresh and ready just to move into. Five acres. It is low maintenance five acres because that is your privacy, that’s your view, that’s just going to feed the soul. It’s where all the birds are going to be and you just have the joy mowing a little bit of grass, spending time in your swimming pool at the end of your no-through road that’s ultimately private, and of course, the joy of a 6 by 12-meter shed.
