Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin and welcome to 11 Warril Drive in Kuranda. I’m really excited about sharing this magnificent property with you today because from a lifestyle perspective, it has so much to offer. Just as a start, we’ve got a really low maintenance solid brick house on a concrete slab. We’ve got about 170 square meters, give or take, under roof which is just lifestyle living.
We’ve got fantastic great big carport, we’ve got fantastic great big man shed and for the gardeners in the family, we have got a really beautiful big shade house or a greenhouse. The location, well, Warril Drive is only five minutes to Kuranda village and then the land. You’re going to fall in love with the land. It’s on a corner block. It’s 100% private and we have about 1.3 acres of flat usable, tropical gardens. Let’s go and have a look.

This is a complete surprise when you come in the front door. As you can see, it’s an extension on the main living area, but this is what we call a lifestyle there, and it’s about seven meters by about four meters. One of the fabulous things about this is that when it’s really hot and it’s like 25 degrees outside, we’ve actually got an evaporative system where you just put on the plug and you get beautiful mist come in there, you get the breeze coming through and it’s just so beautiful and cool.
Anyway, let’s do a little bit of orientation, so we’ve come in the front door, we’re onto the deck. We have the main living area here and behind us, we’ve got the dining room and then we’ve got the kitchen. Then up the hallway, there’s plenty of covered space. We’ve got bedrooms one, two and three, and we’ve got the main bathroom in the laundry in the center and the master at the end with the ensuite.
Walk this way, this way. As you can see, we’ve got a beautiful, open plan light, and I keep going on about light because in the rainforest, if we’ve got sun and we’ve got light and we’ve got a breeze, it’s a beautiful, beautiful place to live. As I said, we’ve got a bright, open kitchen, plenty of room for a big fridge and we’ve got tiled floors. We’ve got a great, big hallway with, as I said, the three bedrooms, we’ve got the master at the end with the ensuite, and you’ll notice as you walk through here, we’ve actually got doors out onto the veranda. Let’s go up and have a look.

Some beautiful instruments hanging on this lovely bedroom wall. As you can see, we’ve got a fantastic bathroom and there is just no shortage of cupboard space, as I mentioned in the beginning, in this house. One of the really lovely things is that this bedroom has its own gorgeous little balcony. You can just imagine sitting in the morning, having a cup of tea, enjoying a cup of coffee and toast and looking out to the garden.
It just doesn’t get much better than that, go and have a look.

We’ve just come out of the kitchen behind us and the dining area onto one of the little back patios. I don’t know if you can see, but this is just- it’s the most beautiful sandstone. It’s got all these gorgeous, natural colors and of course, this to die for water features. Before we go into the garden and I know you’re really excited about it, I’m really excited about it, we’re going to have a look at some of the other undercover outdoor living area. Let’s go this way and we’ll have a look at them.
Especially in the wet tropics, having an undercover outdoor living is absolutely fantastic. This area here is all screened, and again, it looks out into the garden. It’s about three meters by six meters in size and then we’ve got this fantastic great, big carport with 10 meters long by about six meters wide.
If you are fitness minded, you could actually set up a little gym just as we have in here, and again, you’re looking at the beautiful gardens and that’s about 3.3- 3 by 3 meters, great space.

This is really exciting. I mentioned at the beginning we’ve got complete, beautiful 1.3 acres of tropical, just paradise gardens, actually. We can see the back of the hose just here and we’ve got the carport as you come in the main section.
I did mention or I forgot to mention that the house is completely insulated, so we have this beautiful sunny day and you’re just going to have constant temperature inside the house, but have a look at this. This is just a classic example of how beautiful this garden is. We’ve got bromeliads, we’ve got- I think it’s called the angel’s beard or something like that, but it’s a beautiful bromeliad and just gorgeous.
Behind us, we’re going to walk into this man shed. It’s about seven by seven meters wide. You could use it as a granny flat, it’s got power, and you could use it for all your hobbies and just really anything that you want, so let’s go and have a look.

The man shed is huge, but if you’re at the mad gardener of the family, I’m the mad gardener in my family, things like shade cloth house in front of the shed as well as dedicated a shade cloth house, it’s just amazing.
We’ve got beautiful bromeliads in there, and that’s about 29, 30 square meters in size. It’s got quinken on the ground so you’re not walking around in mud, and it’s just a fantastic, relaxing, organic space that you can just spend the weekend or when you finish work at the end of the day. What a place to hang out. We could talk in this garden for an hour, two hours, three hours with all the really beautiful plants that are here.
Just behind us, we’ve also got a- looks like a lemon tree, some sort of citrus tree. There’s quite a few of them on the property. I don’t know if anyone has seen these plants before. There’s quite a few of them as a little avenue and they’re called the handkerchief tray. When they’re in bloom, they’re the most gorgeous, fluffy, pink, pale beautiful colored leaves. They really are stunning and then, of course, we still got more of these gorgeous, glorious, tropical bromeliads. You’re just going to fall in love with this garden.

I know that you will have fallen in love with us having a wander around this fantastic property at 11 Warril Drive in Kuranda. The sun is beautiful, it’s winter, it’s 25 degrees and within this perfect, perfect, perfect garden location. Let’s just do a little bit of a recap. Solar energy, we’ve got a 3.5 kilowatt solar energy panel on the top and fully insulated, but the gardens, just to die for. 1.3 acres on a corner block in the most fantastic location, only five minutes to Kuranda village.
