Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin and welcome to 11 Fallon Road in Kuranda. You are going to be amazed not just at stunning four-bedroom, three-bathroom, one acre fully fenced gorgeous timber pole home but you’re going to be absolutely amazed at the fact that it’s got the history and artwork associated with this fantastic property. I would like for you to google an artist called Kim Prentice. He’s revered and he is really famous for creating sculpture and art that integrates with the house and the garden. He has got classic examples, water features, and other water feature there. It’s all over the garden and we will have a look at that in a little bit more detail. In the meantime, let’s go into this gorgeous timber home, you’re going to fall in love with it.

Welcome to this fantastic living space. We’ve just come in the main door and again, as usual, we’ll do a little bit of orientation. Behind us, we’ve got a fantastic kitchen that we’ll look at in a bit more detail. Then off to the side here, we’ve got a master bedroom and an en suite and walk-in robe. We’ve got the main bathroom and another bedroom. As we came in the front door, we get a fantastic broom cupboard and it is actually filled with brooms.
Then off to the side, we have got another two bedrooms and they have full-blown air conditioners in them. Behind us, beautiful balcony but we’ll get to that in just a tick and, of course, we got fantastic pantry doors. This kitchen has actually had a makeover about 12 months ago and the cupboard doors, the laminated bench top, the sink, this fantastic cooking machine, the gas cooker is all very new. As I said, not even 12 months old. Includes the dishwasher as well.
But what I really love and again, this is the artist coming out in this property is the actual black wattle bench tops. We’ve got a pantry off to the side as well, a walk-in pantry, which is huge and you can put all your bits and your bobs in there. You can see that we got the space for entertaining, we’ve got views out to that fantastic cabin backyard. Brilliant for the kids to play in. It really is just a chef’s kitchen. Let’s have a look around here and I’m just going to talk about the stools before we go anywhere else.

Isn’t that a fabulous kitchen? One thing I didn’t forget to mention is these groovy little bits that you can use for your dishes when a little bit dirty, we got a new filter, and what is really, really, really brilliant is the fact that these benches are about 900 deep. Now, our bench is about 600 or 700, maybe sometimes 800 if they’re really wide but this is 900 deep. Again, you just got plenty of space for yummy preparation out into your barbie area. The stools. If you have a look at, and as I said, you google Kim Prentice, in his gallery, he actually has featured these stools as part of his artworks and they’re absolutely amazing.
They’re just luster on all the beautiful natural bits of wood and you’ve got some little bottom indentations here. You can actually use them but again, with the other organics and the house and cypress wooden floors, the whole thing just works and, of course, you can take all your food and all your yummies out to that gorgeous back balcony through the French doors.

You’ll have noticed in those bedrooms that you’ve just had a look at that we’ve got brand new carpet and they do all have robes and fantastic views out to the garden. Check this out. This is off I think one of the old Kuranda trains. I’ve been told it was off one of the old Kuranda trains and it was a cow pusher. It used to be able to pat and push cows if they will unload the railway track and it’s been made into this fantastic servery hatch just coming in out from the kitchen where you can put all your yummy food. Here we’ve got a click in for the barbecue for our– The gas bottles are down the side here but it just saves all those ugly gas bottles. You actually can physically just put your bit into the floor and it’s seamless. We’ve got fantastic beautiful breeze coming through here.
The actual house, it’s some clad with red cedar and we have beautiful and I mean beautiful spotted gum posts, they’ve got all the character in the world but this whole balcony, you can actually see the breeze coming through and these windows are closed. Imagine on like 35 degree day you can actually open up all these windows and you’re just going to get a stunning breeze come through. Give you a bit of a quick example. Watch my beautiful hairdo. Fantastic, it is a bit of a breezy day today but as I said, if you can imagine all of them opening up, you put the cross breeze that way, you’ve got to cross breeze this way with all the louvers.
This actually takes us downstairs but check the site from the backyard. We’ve got room for veggies, we’ve got room for fruit trees. You could chip golf clubs with the family, with the friends and we, as I said, we’re fully fenced and that property over there is one great big property. That view is going to stay like that for as long as you’re in this beautiful property.

As if upstairs is not big enough, so just to recap, we’ve got a four bedrooms, fantastic big living space, and the two bathrooms upstairs. Down here, we have got what was the original workshop and a brilliant rumpus room just off to the side but we’ll have a look at that in a minute. Again, we mentioned this spotted gum post and you can see here, this was where the original office. He used to do a lot of his sculpture work, had a great big bench here from mum from what I can gather. We’ve got a punch bag for the martial arts experts in the family and then we’ve got another big broom cupboard. Then we’ve got laundry with a shower and bathroom in it and then off at the very end, we’ve got our own separate toilet. Have a wander there and then we’ll hook into the rumpus room.

Isn’t this a fantastic rumpus space? This flooring has a 17-year guarantee, it’s pretty new. We have got an inventor air conditioner. You can cool yourself down when it’s really hot and when it does get a little bit chilly, you can also heat yourself up. You could put a billiard table in here, you could have kids staying in here, you could make it another art room, you could really do whatever you want.
Then we have this fantastic little– Or you can use it for pretty much anything you want but it would fit two single beds. There’s a space here and there’s a space here or you could use it for storage but again, it’s all limited by your imagination. Again, we’ve got this fantastic views out to the cabin.

I just want to recap what I think is that we’ve got three layers of relaxation just in this fantastic area under here. You come home at the end of the day and you have a heavy duty exercise bag. I am not very strong but I could imagine that would be really quite cathartic. If you are arty– Or work shed or wood work, we’ve got fantastic area here just to draw, create clay sculpture, paint, do whatever you fancy, carving. Then we have got the ride-on mower. This ride-on mower actually comes with the property. You can imagine again, at the end of the day after you’ve done that, a little bit of this, you can jump on, put your earphones on, and you can just enjoy cutting the grass, beautiful sunshine, and the heavy-duty bag does come with the property as well.
Let’s quickly head out into the garden, we’ll have another quick look at some of the beautiful art pieces and you’re going to love every single piece of it.

Of course, the steps are not just common garden square steps, they are curved steps. Artist look and feel, somebody who has got an eye for detail. As we walk through back up to the front of the property again, we can see that the drainage has all been sculpted so it’s got beautiful soft curves. This water feature, it’s an old satellite dish and some old railway sleepers but when it rains it all cascades over here and it’s really quite beautiful.
We have iron plate. We have other water features, but this is probably one of the most finest sculptures. It has actually been carved. I don’t know if you can see it, it’s an owl. You might want to come over this way. It is an owl and it has been carved from wood. The actual breast of the owl is grass tree. It’s been carved out of a grass tree, how fantastic is that? It’s amazing. Just stunning.
I really hope you’ve enjoyed this fantastic tour of 11 Fallon Road in Kuranda. If I can please just do a little bit of a recap. As you can see it’s a beautiful gorgeous sunny day. We have the most fantastic backyard, about 1.1 acres, and it is fenced. The location is brilliant, it’s quiet, it’s peaceful. We have all the gorgeous timber, spotted gum posts. We’ve got four bedrooms. We got three bathrooms. We got a rumpus room. We have got that fantastic work area underneath. Property comes with that yummy punching bag, it comes with that yummy ride-on mower. The whole thing is just absolutely exquisite and, of course, it’s red cedar so it looks and feels really organic. We’ve got built-in robes, we’ve got air conditioning, we’ve got inverter air conditioning underneath and that lifestyle balcony, and that brilliant, brilliant kitchen.
