Angela Martin: Hi. I’m Angela Martin and welcome to number 1 Christensen Road in Kuranda. There are certain properties that just have that instant feel and you can see, I get little goosebumps just thinking about it. This property is one of them. It has been beautifully architecturally designed to make you feel like you are living in a resort. I don’t know if you can hear the water, 365 days a year, and it’s tropical, it’s classic, and it is ultra chic.
The house itself too has been beautifully situated to enjoy views of rainforest. That’s been beautifully naturally sculpted in about 5,900 private square meters of gorgeous low-maintenance gardens. Let’s go and have a look. You’re going to fall in love with it, but not forget to press that little subscribe button, a notification bell if you want to see more fabulous lifestyle properties, just like this one.

Isn’t that a fabulous great big carport? We talk about lifestyle and all the convenience that it offers, and that is a massive carport, just at the entrance. Look at this. This is just like the entrance to a resort. It’s just a little taste if you’re like or a little walkways and pathways and tropical resortidness. I’m going to talk about that a lot, that we’ll see.
Now, classic example, we’ve got slats, like a little pergola and we had all that gorgeous, natural light that just came through and you’ll get that at different times of the day. There’s just the sound of water everywhere. Isn’t this magic? Put your head up here. I know that this is something that we are looking at beautiful kitchens, but I think they’re called Bad Ass or Big Ass, I’m not quite sure of the name fans, but they are absolutely massive.
Kitchens, we have to start with the kitchen and this is just a brilliant feature. It’s almost like candles, little candle lights flickering. You could just imagine that at night when you’re cooking dinner, just the ambiance. That’s brilliant. I love that. Absolutely love it. Forget about light bulb but here to actually talk about the house. Now, stone bench tops, black appliances, black bench tops, it looks absolutely fabulous.
If we talk about quality and design and everything that goes into creating your perfect home things like splashbacks you think, “Oh yes, we’ll just put up some tiles. It’ll be all right.” They’re glass. You imagine having to try to cut them to size and to shape they are just sensational and in different parts of the day, you are actually going to have little bits of sparkle that come through them. I don’t know if we can see it exactly there. Come through here, we’ve got dishwasher, Smeg dishwasher, plenty of cupboards, great big laundry, and of course, we have room for really big fridge, but look at this.
Look at this. This is living at its very best. We can configure our house any way we want. We can have a dining table there or we can have a teli there, or we can have a teli there or we can have outdoor entertaining, which I can guarantee in the white tropics. Tropical beautiful Far North Queensland that is where you’re going to spend most or your time. A bit of orientation. Want us to go out there. We’re not going out there yet.
The house is sort of split into three sections if you like. We’ve got a bedroom and a bathroom up this end. We have got the master really big bedroom, massive great big bathroom and then utility space that you will just go, “Oh my gosh, I just love that.” Then in true resort style over here, just as you come in, we have a separate little pod, so perfect for extended family or if you have someone who wants to come and stay.
Just listen to the water, big breath. Imagine coming home to at the end of every day, it is just fabulous. I’m going to meet you up at the end of the hallway. We’re going to resist the temptation to go out there and have a look.
[music]
We were supposed to be going this way to the bedroom. That’s what I said we were going to do, but I’m so glad that you still had a little sneak peek of what just fabulous, fabulous area that is out there. We have natural light everywhere we look. Windows, we’ll have a look at that in a minute. That’s privacy screen going into the bathroom. We have just brilliant views out to a rock walls. Got plenty of space in a built-in robes, so all the rooms actually have built-ins. The other thing too is again, we’ve got the privacy glass. No one can see you sleeping.
Then we have the main family bathroom, which is big. Again, we’ve got views out to our rock walls, but look at the size of this shower. This is big and we don’t have any glass. That just makes it even more resort-like special because we don’t have any confines. We can put our bits here, we can wash our hair, and then we can just come out and just enjoy the luxuriousness. Then we’ve got the vanity plenty of space, either side. Again, I wanted you to see the little frosty glass there, stone bench tops, gorgeous vanity, and again, lots of natural light.
I’m going to meet you back down the other side, and we’re going to look at that master. It is fascinated by those fabulous, there is little attention to detail that I just love, but I’m going to keep going on about it. This is just such a magic, absolutely magic spot. What we’re hearing there is the waterfall on your swimming pool.
This is the way to the master ensuite, big, luxurious and I know that you probably don’t want to hear this, but wheelchair friendly. The whole house, like we said, was actually created with a resort in mind and we can see just how big and how wide the hallway is. It’s absolutely fabulous. Again, we’ve got a frosted glass in here.
Let’s pop ahead into what is– we’ve got his and hers mirrors. We’ve got his and hers sinks, we have got– love it fabulous, fabulous bath. Then, of course, we’ve got natural garden views out to there where we will go out there and have a look. Again, look, big splashy in the shower and no glass in sight, but this is just absolutely fabulous. Again, plenty of storage space, lots of natural light, and just nice relaxing neutral colors, tiled floors. It’s fabulous.
Look at this. Look at this. Look at this. Wouldn’t you love to waking up in the morning? Now, just come around this way too, so that we can actually see the size of the hallway that we came in. We came in the living room and at the other end, we’ve actually got the utility space, which is again, really, really big laundry, but you’re lying in bed. Oh, I love sitting on comfy beds, and you’re looking out to your swimming pool. You’re looking out to all your gorgeous little gardens.
These are all open, all the doors open out into the gardens that is priceless, and again, you can see that we’ve got plenty of space here. We’ve got a robes, and again, I’m going to keep going on about it because it’s fabulous. We have your own private beautiful outdoor setting that just looks out onto, as I said before, the natural rainforest. Absolutely just sensational. Then, frosty glass, we have– look at the size of this laundry.
We’ve come from a living area. We’ve got a great big wide hallway here and we’ve got our own private bathroom. We’ve got our own private bedroom, but look at the size of this laundry. Again, we have got massive storage. Beautiful, just lovely glass tiles. Stainless steel sink, and of course, we’ve got that brilliant view yet again. Drum roll, we are actually going to head outside through there, and I’m going to meet you at the outdoor entertaining.
[music]
We got two big fans. When I came in at the beginning, I thought we only had one, but we’ve actually got two. Can you just imagine the airflow that you would have just again, tropical, tropical, tropicalness? Really big and I mean big open plan central area, but this is what it’s all about. Now, you can clearly have ponds that are not going to splish splash water, if you don’t like the sound of water, but this oasis, like I said, has been created so that you actually feel like you are in your own resort.
This was the master bedroom over here. You can see in. Oh, this is so Angela. It’s all just too exciting, and then over this side, we’ve actually got a third bedroom, which is its own little separate, I mentioned the word pod because it’s off to the side and we can get to it lots of different ways. We can walk the pathway here or we can come in from the main door so it really does feel independent if you like.
Let’s have a wander. Imagine sitting here. We’re sitting here just to give you a sense of how big this is. Sitting here, having a morning coffee or a glass of wine, whatever it is you fancy, and we can still entertain and cook and just be chatting to our family or friends or your partner whilst they’re cooking dinner, but we are getting to that bedroom.
Just run your eye over here before we do, and that is priceless. That is priceless. We can get into the swimming pool two ways. We can go this way. Just pop a little head over there, because we will go in. Absolutely natural backdrop. Then we’ve got, watch your head, these are stellar, absolutely beautiful. They’re fan palms, and then we get to, again, this little oasis. If we pop a little head through here, again, we get a sense of just how magic that is, and of course, all those little green frogs, beautiful. This is just a pretty calm independent little space.
You could even use this as a yoga studio or an artist studio or whatever you want it to be because you are just surrounded by lovely lushness, and again, one, two, three, we’ve got four big cupboards in there. One big cupboard, but you know what I mean, it’s the whole length of the wall. This is where we came in and see our rock walls, just absolutely stunning. We’re going to head right over here and we’ll have a quick look at the swimming pool.
We can come in and out of the bedroom and you get your own little private space, but check this, check this, check this, come on through. You’re sitting in the morning, you’ve just gotten up and you’re a guest in your family’s resort. You are reading a book that you’re having your tea and you are just looking out at the most amazing rainforest backdrop and I mean amazing rainforest backdrop. Of course, you could just jump in or you could jump into your luxury shower, or you could just go for a wander. You could do whatever you wanted. It is amazing.
[music]
This is just sensational. I did mention at the beginning about the fact that the house is being situated to enjoy the most stunning rainforest views. Before we go out there, I want us just to have a look here, look back at what you would be sitting and relaxing in, what you would be enjoying, and really, hopefully, you’re getting a sense that you are living in your resort 365 days off the year.
The land is about 5,900 square meters. It is natural rainforest way over there, but there has been a lot of effort, time, and energy to create natural surroundings on the bits that have actually been cleared. We’ve got all those gorgeous organic rock walls. We have got all the natives that have been planted for birds and for butterflies and we are going to come down here and have a look, but you will see the most amazing rock waterfall feature.
It’s almost hard to get your head around as to what size and what scale this actually is, but if we have a look here– We’ve actually got a second entrance, by the way, I meant to mention that, at the beginning. It comes off Myola Road, so if you wanted to bring in mulch or park a trailer or something like that, you could actually have access down over there. This is Christensen Road, it’s Myola Road, nice, easy access.
The rock feature starts up here and then we have section one. Then we have a part down the bottom that actually collects all the stormwater and all the rainwater from the roof, and it fills up that second pond that just flows over, down and down and down and down, and you can imagine in the wet season when it rains, it would be absolutely spectacular. We are going to get down there and we’re going to have a bit of a wander, but before we do just imagine relaxing at the end of the day, fabulous.
[music]
The interesting thing too, of course, you’ve got beautiful natural rainforest and you have open, bright, sunny spots, so if you did want to put in veggies or something like that, you could. I wanted to show us just how we’ve got a big open space here. This is a septic system, and that was at the side of the house that we actually seen when we first looked to the carport.
Again, just those beautiful, great big, natural rocks, solid. Those big rocks are unbelievably heavy, unbelievably hard to move, so you can imagine, again, the love and the passion that’s gone into actually creating the walls and having them just look stunning. Absolutely fabulous.
We’re going to head down here. Now, you’ll notice little plants as we go. They are all, as I said up here, native. They grow in the area, as does this grass. It’s low-maintenance grass called zoysia, and it’s a Queensland-native grass, so you almost never have to cut it. Is that music to your ears? Yes, you almost never have to cut it. It just a very, very low growing profile.
We can have a look up here just before we go down. Several, look at the pergolas, again, and then the rock walls just keep going and going. I’m just going to meet you down over there, so you can breathe it all in.
[music]
This is absolutely speechless. I’m speechless, because when you’re sculpting and when you’re creating a garden, you have a vision in your head, the house resort, gardens, rock features. You really have to have it all planned out because these things just do not happen overnight. It’s time, effort, energy and of course dollars.
Just look at these rock walls, just look, look, look, look, rock wall, rock wall, Davidson’s plums, we did talk about the natives. They’ve all had to be moved here, and they’re heavy. Let’s come in here and have a little look. Now, this, you can hopefully see the size of these rocks. There’s my little foot and my size number, 38. There are lots and lots and lots and lots of them, and they are massive. I got to be careful, I don’t want to fall in.
The idea, if you put your head down over here, is that all the storm water comes out of that section there, comes off the hose, fills up there. Those are lomandra hystrix. They like wet boggy stuff, so they’ll always look fabulous and native, getting little finches. Little birds love them. It flows up and it goes all the way down, waterfall, waterfall, waterfall. There is actually provision for power and for a pump, if you wanted to, to pump it all the way to the top and then there you go.
Again, instant Buddha instant Zen, and here flowing all over. Now, I can guarantee that you’ll have never seen anything like this on a property that is of such a big scale. It’s massive. I’m going to be very careful coming off these rocks and I’m just going to meet you back over there.
[music]
Whoa, that’s just amazing. Oh, look, look, look, look, look at that sunflower. It’s starting to come out, little yellow, little bits. I shouldn’t touch them because they’re probably going to pollinate something else and it’ll end up, I don’t know, a funny little plant that shouldn’t really be a funny little plant, but that is special. That is spectacular.
This is where the zoysia. I want you just to Google that, because it looks like a lot of grass, it looks like you might have grass on a slope, but it’s super easy to look after because it’s not like regular grass, it doesn’t grow yay tall, it grows that way. Rainforest, that’s what we could see when we were up at the house. Then if we just turn our head around here, we can actually see where the end of the waterfall actually is. Absolutely, just magic.
Again, you get all this canopy, native trees, so birds, butterflies, number of species that you will actually find will be jaw-droppingly huge. Rock walls, yet again, rock rock, rock, rock, rock walls, just magic. Absolutely magic. Then as we get back up here, we’ve got another little platform. I mentioned before about growing veggies and stuff like that. Not everyone does want to grow veggies, but there is space.
If you say, “Angela, I want rainforests, but you know what? I want to be able to do my little bits and bobs,” plenty of space there, plenty of space downstairs, and of course, we’ve got plenty of space up at the house.
Imagine the wildlife. If that’s filled with water, you’re going to get frogs, wallabies, little dragon flies, you’re going to get all sorts of fabulous little creatures, that are going to love you for having water in the garden. Look at that, lilly pillies with red flush, priceless. I’m going to meet you back up the house. I’m going to do a quick wrap up.
[music]
I really hope you’ve enjoyed this wonderful little video, baby short film of number 1 Christensen a drive in Kuranda, and it begs the question, why? My goodness, why? Why would you, why would you not want to buy this property? Luxury lifestyle resort, independent living. We have got relaxation, we’ve got entertaining. Look at the size of this, we have got a great big table.
You have to spend $800 a night to go into a room in some hotel somewhere to actually have all the facilities that you would enjoy just being here. Of course, we’ve got all our little ponds, fabulous swimming pool just there. I love the fact that we’re under cover, but then we’ve got our little breezeways, our little walkways that are shaded some part of the year, let some light. Then, of course, we have just got that brilliant, and I mean brilliant, outdoor entertaining, where you are going to just relax and you’re going to look at the view.
Then we have this, just unbelievably stunning, and of course, the one thing we didn’t talk about was the location. I just want to stand by here because I love this. We are so close to Kuranda Village, about two minutes. If you have children, then with only a couple of minutes on the bike, a little ride bike to Kuranda State School. Then we have the Aquatic Center, and of course, an easy commute into Smithfield or into Cairns, so location is just second to none. Land size, low-maintenance, 5,900 square meters.
This is irreplaceable, it feeds the soul and it brings joy, so please give me a call Angela Martin 0403-788-187. Visit the website, angelamartin.tv.
