Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin. Welcome to number 6A Warril Drive in Kuranda. This is quite simply an immaculate and I mean immaculately looked after original cottage. It’s two bedrooms and we’re on about one full acre of fully fenced garden. Before we go in and we have a look, of course, the location’s brilliant, you would expect that. We are at the end of an all-through road so it’s private and it’s peaceful and it’s quiet.
Just to give you a sense of how immaculate and I’m going to use that word, like 300 times, just have a look at the entrance here. We have perfect drainage, beautifully manicured gardens, just ready for us to move straight into. Angela: Wow. Did you see that big it’s called a Cidagi tree? C-I-D-A-G-I I think is how they spell it. It has sparkly green bark. We got to get into the house. I promise. When it rains and it looks like watercolors, they are beautiful, beautiful gums. That’s again, just a little bit of an idea as to how magnificent the garden is. It is dead set, low maintenance, but look at it. This is our entrance. We’ve come up concrete driveway to another sealed driveway. That’s a little cottage just up here, which is tucked away and nestled away from– It’s just 1000% private.
Look at this. This is amazing coming home to this every day. You’re going to get flowers on that at various times of the year, Cassia tree. Just beautiful. We are absolutely now going to head up and have a good old explore.

Angela: How fabulous is this? We talk about functionality and that carport, if you’re maybe looking to downsize, you’ve got a motorhome or a big caravan, this is big enough, and I mean high enough to be able to get some big, massivey thing in here. We mentioned just before about the whole property, being as neat as a pin and immaculate. When we look at just even the entrance to the cottage, you will see that everything, and I mean everything about it is pristine, absolutely pristine. Nothing to do, absolutely nothing to do. You will just move in and you will move in your furniture and you will love, and you’ll enjoy just that whole relaxation.
Nice big again, private deck. We’ve got a lattice here as we come in. Not that we need it, but maybe a little bit of shady spot where you can sit and have a little bit of relaxation. Then of course we go into the house. I’m going to meet you on the inside.

Angela: Did you notice the gorgeous little welcome, love that little welcome sign on the front of the door. If you are looking for ultramodern, chic, contemporary lifestyle, this is not for you. This is warm, it’s cozy, it’s homely, and it says welcome home. It really does. That welcome on the door really does just creates the feel. We’ve got gorgeous wooden floors. We’ve got natural light. It’s not a huge house, but if you are downsizing or you want to rent it, or you want Airbnb, or you may be a first homeowner and you just cannot get onto the property market, this is absolutely perfect for you.
We’ve got plenty of space here and I love again the homeliness. You can keep them, you can take them off, but I think it just adds a lovely warmth and elegance to the feel of the house. This is going to be a living area. We’ve got a big balcony up the front, and then we have an original kitchen. Air conditioner. Yes, we have an air conditioner. That’s going to be big enough to actually condition pretty much the whole of your living space. Again, we speak about original, but these are beautiful wooden doors. Totally, totally fine. You may or may not want to spend a little bit of dollars not expensive just to put on a different bench top, but that’s it.
Then you’re ready to go. Then we’ve got two bedrooms and the bathroom up the side. What’s really important is I want you to see how– just come in. It is clean. You will not find one bit of dust on that. It is absolutely ready to move into. What we love too, is that we’ve got plenty of space up here for storage and both rooms are the same. Nobody likes to have things closed in, in the Wet Tropics. That lets plenty of ventilation in, a little bit of privacy. Hang up your spits, just lovely, just lovely.
Then we come through here into– Well, we’ve got come in here for this other bedroom and it’s the same, but it’s a big room. It is– we’ve got a three one, two, three, roughly three by four. Similar we’ve got storage up here. Again, we have easy access to all your bits and bobs. You can put some wire racks in there, you see them out of bunnings. You’ve got a fully functional, airy breezy robe, not a walk-in robe. We wouldn’t walk into that, but just absolutely functional. Absolutely fabulous.
Another thing too is that we have got, I just want you to see the views so that if you’re lying in bed, if this is your room, you’re looking out to gorgeous, gorgeous garden. It’s a bit inspiring it’s relaxing, it’s green, it’s calm. The other thing you’ll notice too is that you have screens on the windows.
Then behind us the functional space for your laundry and your bathroom, pretty much your wet area, is just magic. Makes so much sense. You can take all your clothes off, pop them in the washing machine, jump into the bathroom and you’re ready to go. Again, bathroom, original, spotless, absolutely spotless. You see vanities like this and often they can be either broken or damaged or dirty. That you could eat your dinner off. It really is that clean. Of course, we’ve got a bath and again, natural light. Separate loo in here. Nice big high ceilings. Just pop our head in there.
This takes us out to, we’ll just pop our little head out here because we are here to the back area clearly. Lots of space. Concrete deck, just our very, very best friend. We’re going to have a wonder around there and I’m going to meet you back at the front. [music]
Angela: I just want us to come back in here. I’m just going to pull these curtains so that you can see what it’s like to actually have all the little bits open. This, again, magic, screened. You could have your front door, your back door, all your little sliders open and you just get that magic breeze coming through which again is fabulous in the Wet Tropics. It takes us back out onto this, is just a magic space, absolutely magic space. Now, when we came in, we came up the Warril Drive, we came up the driveway, we came up to here, and then we looked up at the house.
Now, there is also little steps down here, concrete, concrete, concrete. We love it. That takes us down to the driveway. You could walk down there for collecting your post or putting your wheelie bin out, just again, a little extra bit saves you walking all the way around. We mentioned that we had the laundry and the bathroom area, that back corner, so easy, easy, easy, access to come round and put up our washing machine, not a washing machine, your washing. Washing machine is on the inside. Just again, great, brilliant functionality.
If you’re wondering what this is, this little metal plate here, we have a septic system so that is literally just covering the top of the septic system, so still able to come in, pop your car in, come out under the rain, get out of the rain, straight into the house. Absolutely magic. We’re going to have a good old explore of those gardens.

Angela: I’m just trying to work out how tall that is. Again, just to give you a little bit of a perspective, I’m not very big. I’m 5 foot 2. That takes me to here. For the men in the family, you can work out, use your algebra, your geometry, or even trigonometry just to see how actually high that is. Look, the gardens, if you’re a gardener and you love pottering, low maintenance. You jump on your ride-on mower and you’re just going to put your little music on or just listen to the birds and enjoy cutting your grass.
The rest of the gardens are going to look after themselves. You can see that they’ve actually been here for a very long time. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. Look, look, look, look, look. Wow. That is a huge, huge, palm tree. That is just unbelievable. Then this looks like a poinciana tree which will get beautiful massive– It’s a big shade tree so you get lots of gorgeous shade. You’re going to get beautiful red flowers on that various times of the year.
See what I was saying about easy care? We’ve had little brush turkeys in there. Probably, I’m scooping things up looking for little roots at this time of year and moisture. It just looks after itself. Gardens, this is stunning, absolutely stunning. Central island, we’ve got cordylines. Then again, if we just come around here and just look back to over here, it just is sensational. Big trees, philodendrons going up the trees. Big tree, just fencing goes all the way around. We go up around here. Just unbelievably beautiful, really, really, lovely.
Then if we look back through here, we can just see that big palm tree that I gave a great big hug to and of course, the end of the concrete drive. We’re going to head back down and we’re going to do a bit of a wrap-up.

Hopefully, you will have a brilliant sense of how immaculate, low-maintenance, original cottage this is. It’s on about 4,000 square meters. That’s an acre. That whole acre is fenced. If you have children or if you have dogs, you don’t even have to think about it. You don’t have to worry about it. Again, all the infrastructure for the wet tropics. We’ve got our concrete driveways. We’ve got a beautiful entrance. We have got that fabulous carport.
I might actually have to come along with a tape measure one day because I do want to know how high that is. It’s high. Location, terrific. We’re at the end of the no through road. Culdesac is in that direction. Kuranda, we’re still only about two minutes to Kuranda Village. Of course, you’ve got beautiful trees. It’s just one of these properties that are special. It’s one of these properties that are unique. If you are downsizing, I mentioned before, if you are maybe a first homeowner and you’re just desperately trying to get into the property market, this is perfect.
An investment, perfect. Rental, perfect. Airbnb, absolutely perfect. There is nothing about this that does not make sense. Of course, the gardens, going to have to stop looking at those palm trees.
