Angela Martin: Hi, I’m Angela Martin. Welcome to number 2 Fan Palm Place in Kuranda. What a fabulous street address because it actually completely describes this lifestyle property, Fan Palms. We’ve actually got fan palms just here. They’re leafy. They’re green and they’re tropical. We have got that ultimate lifestyle house. It’s low maintenance. It has been immaculately maintained by the current owners. Literally, all you have to do is just unpack your boxes into your shed, it’s got three cars, space for your motorhome, and then just put your feet up, put the kettle on, and relax. Genuinely just move in and enjoy. We’ve got all of this on a corner property of about 1 acre 3,800 square meters, so ultimate privacy and fewer neighbors. Let’s go in and have a look. Big old explore but before we do, don’t forget to press that subscribe button, notification bell, so you can find out a bit more fabulous lifestyle properties just like this one. Let’s go in and have a look.
[music]
Fabulous is this our own private sanctuary, our own private oasis. It’s big. Big family home like I said before. Modern, fresh, and immaculate. I’m going to point out little things like the tops of skirting boards and the corners, the taps, and things that you just don’t normally pay attention to but it genuinely is, I’m going to use the word over 10 times, it’s spotless. It’s immaculate. Great heart of the family home, we haven’t got big, big kitchen. Plenty of cupboard space. If you count the cupboards, we won’t, but if you did, there would be enough cupboards for pretty much everything you owned. I just think this is brilliant.
We’ve actually got a drawer under a cooker for all the things that you would need. We’ve got electric cooktop against stainless steel sink. We have got dishwasher and space here for a big double fridge. As if that’s not big enough, beautiful, beautiful, we’ve got a great big walk-in pantry. Anything that you own would be able to fit in here. We’ve got ventilation, little window there just again for those cross breezes. Plenty of space for phones, phone chargers, your cooking implements, or your brilliant bits that you would want for entertainment.
Of course, main living area here. Big enough, 2,3,4,5,6. You could get eight chairs from there and we still have plenty of space. Of course, it’s fully tiled so that cleaning in the tropics is an absolute breeze. Lots of ways out into the garden. Double doors, all fly-screened, all air-conditioned except for one little baby room out there into entertaining, out there into entertaining. Doesn’t get any better than that. We’re going to head down the hallway. We’re going to explore those bedrooms.
[music]
I forgot to mention how gorgeous those doors are. We mentioned fly screens. At the entrance, we’ve got Crimsafe doors. If you wanted to go away for a day or a week, you can just open up all your doors, keep them locked, and just again going to get all that breeze and all that ventilation. Orientation, we have got the main living area here clearly. We’ve got a garage door just there which we’ll explore when we go outside. Through here, we’ve got our four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Big.
We probably don’t talk about things like something being wheelchair-friendly but if you needed to get access, we’ve got plenty of space here. The hallway too is a bigger-than-average hallway. We’ll just have a little look down there. We will of course go down. Now, this is bedroom number one or room number one. Remember that it’s just a room so you can use them for whatever you want. It’s just the happy little joyous room. They all have fans and they all have mirrored built-in robes. Again, space is not a problem.
We have got room number two. Again, air conditioning. We’ve got fly screens. We’ve got louvers. We’ve got blinds. Not that you would need it because remember, it’s ultimately 100% private. A built-in robes there. Check this out. I’ll leave that for a minute. Main bathroom, this is a joyous space. We’ve got the showerheads that come down into just a really big luxury bath. It’s not a spa, but you can easily jump into it. You can hang on to it and you’ve got your little splish splashing if you want to. The great thing too is that it’s a two-way room. The bedroom next door has actually got access to this bathroom and separate loo. Big, clean, spacious, and of course, we’ve got again the screen windows for that ventilation.
You should never really open people’s cupboards but it’s too big. I’m so sorry if it’s not the way you want it to present but, Oh, it’s tidy [chuckles]. Come and have a look in here. Look at this. For a whole cupboard, we’ve got all these fabulous racks for ventilation. You’ve got to have ventilation because things get aired. How much more space did you need? We’re going to keep heading down the hallway. I’m going to meet you then at main bedroom.
[music]
Brilliant, brilliant cupboard. Like I said, big, big long hallway and wide. Now, we’ve got, it’s about a meter. It’s probably just a fraction over a meter wide. Normally, hallways are 800 or something. Maybe 900 if the big. Great little office nook in there. You could use it for whatever you want it to of course, but it is fabulous use of space. Hopefully, you’re noticing we have got access out to pretty much every part of the house. We’ve got the dining area over there. We’ve got the living area in here. Of course, your laundry, your bedrooms, so
you just don’t feel hemmed in any shape or form. This is just a little cute fairy princess room access through to the bathroom. It’s just private. Fabulous walk-in robes. Now, laundry, big, spacious and it goes out onto little a sort of enclosed area. If you’ve got pets or children or little cats or something, nice safe enclosure. Look at the space. Folding your towels, getting organized to do your ironing and the width is big. Hopefully, you’re getting the sense that the whole of this house, it’s a bit taller than normal. It’s a bit wider than normal, so you just have that luxury for you.
Whilst we’re here, let’s just come out and see where you can hang up your washing. Ah, it’s got these gorgeous fan palms again. We’ve got plenty of space, all concrete. You can just hose it, broom it, brush it and you’re not going to be getting mud into the house. Just absolutely priceless. I love, love those fan palms. You have to Google it. It is actually fan palm and that’s those great big round, they’re actually licualas which are just tropical exotic but we’ll see that when we’re going to the garden.
Master bedroom wing and I’m going to call it a wing because it is totally, totally indulgent. First thing we’ll notice is that if we are lying in bed, we could probably watch telly but we are looking now into the most gorgeous, entertaining undercover area in the most beautiful gardens. Look at all those bromeliads. We will go and we’ll have a look. The size of this room, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, probably about six, and then we’ve got about another two and a bit meters which is the vanity. Big enough for a big bed and still have room to breathe. At the back, we have got a walk-through robe again with mirrored covers if you like. Not all the way through, so again you get that ventilation.
We have got a really big, big shower. A vanity here and then we’ve got our separate toilet in there. I’ll get you to walk around that way and I’m going to show you just the walk-through robe. This is just marvelous. Again, don’t look at people’s clothes and the way they have it but it’s the space. We’ve got hanging space here, plenty of room. Again, you can see this just moves. Oh, [chuckles] you can see yourself and all your technical glory at any time of the day.
Let’s head back around here into where you would do all your little prep and your yummies in the morning, brushing your teeth, getting shower. A separate toilet. Really, really big vanity. Again, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. We’ve got him and hers fabulous sinks. Just space. I’m going to meet you in that shower. This is great. This door opens or closes that way or that way but space, you’re getting the sense of it. Look at the size of this shower. It is big. I cannot cross that little bit here. Just actually come in here so you can see. From here to here. We have got windows and again plenty of ventilation. Ah, this is just brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Little space there for all your luxury items.
If you wanted to, you probably could even take this piece of glass off because it is fully tiled. Just a magic, magic indulgent space. Complete lifestyle, complete resort feel. We’re going to just head back around so you get a sense looking up the hallway and through the living room again and then we’re going to head out onto that fabulous entertaining area, look at the sheds or look at the garages rather which could be a shed and explore the gardens.
[music]
We mentioned that there was probably 10 different ways as always in houses in Kuranda that you can get in and out of a property. Again, just from a little orientation, we’ve got the master wing there. This doorway comes out halfway down the hallway. We have got the dining area there. We’ve got the living area just here with those fabulous big double wooden doors. We’ve got another little spot here where we can come in and out of the house.
The space, I’ve used that word I don’t know how many times now because sometimes when you come into a property, when you come into a house, it feels sort of hemmed in this. You could go anywhere. You could talk to anyone and you would just feel like everything was integrated. The garden is integrated with the house as you would hope for a lifestyle property. Of course, we’ve got fans. Just pop a little heads up here. You’ve got fans for all year-round circulation of air and of course, it is completely under cover.
We could be living– Well, we do live in the wet tropics and it could be bashing down with fabulous tropical rain or just the hottest of hottest days and you are going to be just enjoying and luxuriating either yourself, with your family, friends, having your brekkie, having your dinner because this is where you live and this is where you will live. Oh, just come in here and have a look at this. How brilliant is that? Really, seriously how brilliant is that? You have got all that living, cooking, family, joyous, entertaining space just being and of course, if we turn around this way, we are going to be looking out onto the most amazing gardens. Now we’re here, we’re going to have a look at this but before we do, I just want to show you those fabulous car spaces and room for that motorhome. I’m going to meet you back around the front.
[music]
I needed to get my two little fabulous giros. Now, room for 1, 2, 3 cars and room for a very big motorhome. That roller door there is about 3.4. Get out your little tape measure with your motorhome. About 3.4 meters high. I love that. The motorhome has got two entrances. We come through from the backyard just through that little alleyway there for easy access. The door at the back is a manual door. The little work shed here which you can access through there is a manual door. Plenty of space.
Let’s have a look. Immaculate as you would expect. A little attention to detail when check the little Grace moving boxes. Everyone has got them in the shed when they’re moving. We’ve got little rubber bits here, again, attention to detail, so that the car just can’t go any further forward. That is just brilliant. This takes us, which we’ll go into in a minute, back into the house. It could be raining, filled with shopping, and again just straight, straight home. Brilliant. Love it. Brilliant. Love it. We have got another bay in here which is huge for a workshed. Absolutely brilliant. When we talk about power and electricity and saving, this has actually also got about 3.6 kVA solar power, so brilliant for making sure that those energy bills are down a bit. I just love the gardens. They’re amazing. Absolutely beautiful. This is a door that just goes straight up. Just so that you can see. This was the little access that we came through before. Look at the height of this. This is absolutely massive. Of course, we’ve got lights in there. What is not to love? Beautiful rock walls. Just attention to detail. Concrete driveway. We talk about low maintenance. Oh my goodness. We are going to head back through that garage door and I’m going to meet you, have a bit of a loop through that back garden.
[music]
I promised we’d come back through this way. Here we go. Now, imagine, and I know this is a practical thing, and you go, “Oh,” but practicality in any sort of lifestyle property is still really important. You’ve got your bags of shopping or anything else that’s big and heavy or bulky, and you’re straight into your kitchen. You’re straight into your big walk-in pantry. Practical, brilliant. The gardens, wow. Again, let’s go this way. They are the special. There are some gardens that you comfortably walk into and you go, “Ah, pretty garden, nice garden,” but the fan palms are just amazing plants. We have the lush greenery, I mean lushly, and sparkly sky.
Wow, look at that tree. Of all these, again, low-maintenance plants. They just keep growing and growing and growing and they have babies and then they grow. They have more babies and then they grow, and it just fills a tropical garden like no other. Of course, like I said, we’ve got the retaining walls, so easy to cut your grass. Plenty of space. We’ve got pots here for a veggie garden. It just needs some seeds. Got a little bit of rosemary happening there. What have we got in here? Fresh, fresh organic parsley. That is absolutely beautiful. You could get everything that you would want in there for your herbs. Tomatoes, just anything you want to grow because it will grow.
This was the back of the laundry. You will tell me if I’ve got green bits in my teeth, won’t you? This was a space around here where it’s got a little bit of fencing. Just come a little bit over here so we can see. That’s a concrete throughout the back. We’ve got all these lovely little just-shaded spots where, oh, look at that, oh, it’s a bird fern, where you can just sit and you can enjoy. Feel the difference, I’m sure you can, between the hot sun out there and in the same garden, you have got a beautiful sitting area, those gorgeous little bromeliads under the fan palms.
If you’ve got children or grandchildren, this is a great little cubby house. A great little spot. This little slide here. Again, for climbing, up we go, but of course, any little joyous area can be made whatever you want it to be. A little fire pit. We do get a little bit chilly in the winter. Hard to believe but a couple of weeks maybe. We’ve got that fire pit. Again, it’s just a brilliant shade, sun, undercover entertaining area. We talk about low maintenance. We talk about getting our lives back, especially from a stress-free environment. You can see that the house is going to take nothing to maintain. It’s a block modern build. It’s fully tiled. It’s got fly screens.
We have a look over here. We can see where the two entertaining areas are joined. Outdoor living all year round. Solar power 3.6 kVA. You are not going to be a slave to your garden. It is beautiful. It’s just absolutely beautiful. It’s stunning. Absolutely stunning. You turn around this way, you’ve got bird baths. You just imagine them being here on the warmest of days. They’ll be saying, “Thank you for giving us some water.” Just brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
