Angela Martin: Hi, I am Angela Martin, and welcome to Number 17, Bangalow place in Kuranda. We are at the top of the Range Estate in a fabulous, fabulous location. We have a corner property, so highly sought-after streets. Bangalow Place on this direction, which is a no-through road and on the corner of Gregory Terrace heading along that way. That means more privacy, it means less neighbors, so location is brilliant, especially if you commute to Cairns.
You’re actually only about 15 minutes down to Woolies and Coles, so brilliant beyond belief. Now, we have an original 1990s family house, four bedrooms, two bathrooms on brilliant, flat usable land. Almost one acre about three-and-a-half thousand square meters. We can go in, original house, lots of potential, great development opportunity just to get you here and enjoy this magical tropical paradise.

Welcome to your new home. Now, we’re going to do a nice easy walk-through so that you can see the size and the shape, and the layout of the house and we’re going to spend a lot of time in the gardens because they’re absolutely fabulous. I mentioned about the location, but the gardens, oh my goodness, they are really beautiful. If you’re a gardener and you want plenty of space to potter, this is going to be perfect.
So, coming in our front door, this is going to be a living area, lounge area, television area and then over here, we have got a master and then down the other side of the house, we’ve got another three bedrooms. We’ve got a bathroom and we have got a laundry, separate toilet as well. We would normally start with the kitchen, but because we are here, we’re just going to pop our little head in here.
This is the main bedroom. It’s big, one, two, three, four, probably four-by-four. One, two, three, four, maybe four, and a little bit. We have plenty of space, natural light, which is absolutely brilliant. We have got such a big and I mean big spacious walk in robe. Now, you could put all sorts of little hanging baskets and racks. You can get your shoes and pretty much everything you own possibly in there and we have, again, an original ensuite bathroom.
We’ve got a shower, we’ve got a toilet, we got a vanity, tiled and of course, we’ve got carpet in each of the main bedrooms and fans too. Don’t forget the fans. Don’t forget the fact that we’ve got air conditioning and we are nearly in awesome– As I say, we are in the wet tropics, but it’s hard to imagine that we have heaters and coolers. We’ve actually got a gorgeous little wood-burning stove that, for maybe I know, three weeks of the year, four weeks of the year, we would actually use it and you can just imagine putting on your little flannelette pajamas and just sitting there with your feet. Absolutely brilliant.
Of course, in a day like today, you could, if you wanted to put in an air conditioning. Then we have, as I mentioned, it’s an original ’90s house. The property has previously been tenanted, so it is a fabulous opportunity, blank canvas just to make it your own. This is unashamedly about the size of a family house, brilliant location. I’ll go on about it, the gardens, the land, just magic. We’ve got open area out here that will go out to an entertaining area, and then of course, we’ve got a dining which again, we’ve got outdoor-indoor living. Before we have a look at that, big bathroom, bath, shower and of course, our vanity.
Come in here, so you can see plenty of big vanity, again, all tailed, separate loo, and a big laundry. If you are in here and you could put cupboards behind the door, plenty of space, but we’ve got magic, big, and we’ll have a look around this, when we go out into the garden. Plenty of space to hang up our washing, got nice big eaves. Again, easy access in and out. Functionality plus, but remember nice rendered brick. Then as we come back around here, we’ve actually got a dining area, so you could put a big table. You could put your lounge, you could put your sofa. Again, there’s plenty of space.
We got one, two, three, four, maybe five meters. I’m desperate for us to go out there because it’s brilliant. But again, we’ll just pop our little head into these other bedrooms. So nice, easy-care, straightforward, simple rooms. Bedroom number one this side, then we have another bedroom here. Love the blue color, maybe you’d want to paint it pale cream, white, or that gorgeous tropicalness that you’ve got to look forward to. Again, this one has air conditioning, it’s got a fan and it has built-in robes with sliding doors just here. Great, plenty of space, big cupboard here as well.
We could put our linen in there, we could put whatever we would like in there, but again, plenty of storage and another fabulous bedroom. We’ve got fans and another sliding robe, it goes all the way up to the ceiling as well. Again, if you’ve got suitcases and stuff like that, you could always put in some extra shelves. Now, you’ll notice that through all of the windows, we have actually got garden views. Natural light for the 14th time because natural light in the wet tropics is unbelievably important. If we actually stand here, we can see we’ve got garden here. We’ve got a garden coming out through there.
We’ve got garden coming in through the kitchen. We’ve got a beautiful garden here. We’re going to head out and we’re going to look at the double carport because it’s big and then we are seriously just going to have a brilliant wander through those magic, tropical gardens.

I know that we’ve just come out that door, but I wanted to show you that we could actually come out, lots of doors. The house opens up into the garden, but we’re in this fabulous entertaining area. You could just imagine a great big table. You could have your barbie out here. We’ve got plenty of undercover and you’re looking at that. 100% private, we are looking at that. This could be extended if you want to.
We are going to have a look in the gardens, but what I was saying before about the property having been tenanted, this would make an absolutely brilliant investment opportunity because there is nothing to rent almost in the whole of Kuranda. It is also a brilliant opportunity, if you are a family because you could just move in and then you could just have the flexibility to grow and develop and add things on or pull bits out. It is just an absolute blank canvas. A little bit of orientation, so we know where we are. This is the back of the house and that is Gregory Terrace in that direction. You’re going to hear the kookaburras.
Then that’s the front of the house and then that goes along Bangalow at the other side. But look at this, look at the gardens. If you are a gardener, this is just like joy on earth. The land actually goes a little bit further in that direction. We’ve got some landscaping rocks there but the privacy is unbelievable, and the plants. These are fan palms, Licualas almost sounds like a French Koala, but it’s a Licuala. They are so slow to grow. They’re quite baby ones. These ones have been here forever. It’s probably 50 years old to actually grow those palms or those plants.
Then, we’ve got heliconias and we’ve got fruit trees and we’ve got bananas. Look at this. Why on earth would you, irrespective of which part of the world you are currently living, not want to live here? As I said location is absolutely brilliant. Look at all the trees. Wow, these are just amazing. We’re going to get butterflies, we’re definitely going to get wallabies, we’re definitely going to get little paddy melons, we are going to get kookaburras, we’re going to get just the most amazing, amazing wildlife. We can see the house is really protected as in, it’s private.
You don’t have to worry about your neighbors and again corner block neighbors. You only have one and that’s way on the other far side. Look at these, look at these, look at these. The little beehive gingers. You have to look at this. This is one of nature’s fabulous, fabulous plants. When you buy them in a florist, lots of dollars to buy cut beehive gingers. Then for the relaxation, here we go. How good is this? You could sit there and you could relax and you could just have your book, you could just read. Potential, potential, potential, potential location, location, location, location. Absolutely just marvelous.
We’re going to just have another quick look over there in just a minute. Because we are just going to have a quick look at the carport before we head back in otherwise I could just keep walking around these gardens forever. They’re just gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. We’ve come full circle. Again, just so that we get a sense of where we are, this is the driveway that we came in, front of the house and then we’ve walked all the way around but the big carport at the entrance is brilliant. It has been just weatherproofed, it’s just been clad in the sides between the posts.
If you think about it, you could almost do that perhaps and make it into a room, a rumpus area, rumpus room, and maybe put a carport at the front but again possibilities are endless. Now, we’re going to carry on and have a look at the rest of the gardens. We’ve got Bangalow here. We’re just going to have a bit of a quick look around in here because bromeliads, beautiful. We’ve got all these lovely little vines. Look at this, look at this, look at this. They’re just gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous, and again these palms.
I’m going to go on about it. If you want fruit trees, if you want veggies, if you just want a beautiful, quiet, peaceful property, it just doesn’t get any better than this. Of course, why would you buy this property? Well, why wouldn’t you buy this property? We are in a location where there are average houses $800,000, $900,000 topping a million dollars. This property is absolutely priced to sell. The potential is huge. It’s four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s original. You may have to paint it, you may have to do a kitchen or a bathroom but it’s all here.
The potential to expand and develop is, I’m going to use the word ginormous. It’s not really a word but it’s just huge, room for a pool because the land is flat and usable. You could put up a monster shed or you could put up 10 monster sheds. You have the opportunity to put in a little extra access area because we have Bangalow and we have Gregory Terrace. We literally are only about 15 minutes down into Smithfield’s Shopping Center which is brilliant.
You’ve got Bunnings, Coles, Woolies, Dan Murphy’s, all the kids’ schools, of course, work around the state school here but if you commute into Cairns, it is easy, absolutely easy. I’m going to go on about it again. Location, potential, absolutely phenomenal. Give me a call, Angela Martin, 0403 788 187. Visit the website, angelamartin.tv.
